Abstract

Background: The coexistence of hypertension and diabetes mellitus synergistically contributes to the risk of morbidity and mortality. Purpose: Determine the differences in complications between the group of hypertensive sufferers and the group of hypertensive sufferers with diabetes mellitus. Methods: This research is a quantitative study with an observational study approach conducted at the Puskemas Poasia Kendari City. The sample in this study was 90 people with 46 people in the hypertension group and 44 people in the hypertension group with diabetes mellitus. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. Results: There were differences in complications between the hypertension patient group and the hypertension patient group with diabetes mellitus. Patients with hypertension 67.4% did not have complications while the group of hypertension with diabetes mellitus 59.1% had 1 complication with both microvascular and macrovascular complications. Conclusion: hypertensive patients with diabetes mellitus have more complications so appropriate interventions are needed to treat both diseases.Keywords:  coexistence of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypertension

Abstract

Background: Skin disease due to work is the second most common disease after musculoskeletal disease, accounting for 22% of all occupational diseases. Objective: The purpose of this research was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of contact dermatitis at PT IMIP in Morowali Regency. Method: This type of research is analytic research with a case control approach. The sample was the total population. Result: The results of the research were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results show that of 100 respondents, both the case and the control group that have good personal hygiene amounted to 65.0%, respondents who have no allergic history amounted to 89.0%, contact duration ? 2 years amounted to 62.0%,use personal protective equipment amounted to 65.0% incidence of contact dermatitis respectively 50%. Chi-Square test results of personal hygiene, allergic history, contact duration and the use of personal protective equipment obtained p value= 0.000 and p value= 0,007 (£0.05). This means that statistically, there is a significant relationship between personal hygiene, allergic history, contact duration and the use of personal protective equipment with the occurrence of contact dermatitis. Recommendation: suggestions for PT IMIP in Morowali Regency to further enhance socialization to employees about the importance of maintaining health, especially in preventing skin diseases including contact dermatitis and motivate the employees in order to civilize the use of personal protective equipment when working

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Rendahnya pengetahuan penderita diabates mellitus berdampak pada rendahnya self care management dan kemungkinan terjadinya peningkatan komplikasi penyakit. Salah satu media untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pasien diabetes mellitus adalah dengan memberikan informasi melalui self instructional module (SIM). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas self instructional module (SIM) terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan pasien diabates melitus. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi-experimental dengan rancangan pretest-postest group design dengan jumlah sampel 15 orang yang ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Hasil: Analisis data menunjukkan self instructional module (SIM) efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan pasien diabates mellitus dengan nilai p 0,04 (p<0,05). Sebagian besar responden mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan tentang pengobatan dan komplikasi setelah pemberian modul Kesimpulan: SIM efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan pasien diabates melitus.
