Abstract

Persentase penduduk Indonesia yang mempunyai masalah gigi dan mulut menurut Riskedas tahun 2007 dan 2013 meningkat dari 23,2% menjadi 25,9%. Dari penduduk yang menerima perawatan medis gigi meningkat dari 29,7% tahun 2007 menjadi 31,1% pada tahun 2013. Beberapa permasalahan gigi dan mulut diantaranya adalah gigi berlubang, karies dan plak gigi. Beberapa cara pengendalian dari permasalahan gigi dan mulut diantaranya adalah dengan menyikat gigi, dental floss, scalling dan penggunaan obat kumur. Obat kumur adalah konsentrasi encer larutan antibakteri yang digunakan untuk melawan mikroba oral, melawan infeksi oral, pembersih, untuk menghilangkan bau mulut segar dan antiseptik. Indonesia memiliki kekayaan sumber daya alam yang digunakan sebagai antibakteri, salah satunya adalah tumbuhan Bintaro (Cerberra odollam Gaertn). Tumbuhan C. odollam G. memiliki manfaat bagi kesehatan mempunyai aktivitas sebagai antibakteri, antidiuretik dan antinosiseptif. Formulasi obat kumur dari ekstrak etil asetat kulit C. odollam G kemudian dievaluasi untuk mengetahui kestabilan dari sediaan obat kumur yang telah dibuat, evaluasi ini meliputi pengamatan sediaan uji selama 3 minggu waktu penyimpanan di suhu ruang meliputi uji organoleptis dan pH. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan secara organoleptis, obat kumur yang mengandung 40% ekstrak etil asetat kulit C. odollam G berwarna coklat dengan aroma mint dan berasa manis mint dengan pH 4. Secara umum, sekitar 40 – 45% dari 30 panelis menyatakan suka terhadap obat kumur hasil formulasi. Obat kumur dari ekstrak etil asetat kulit batang C. odollam G. 40% efektif sebagai antibakteri terhadap bakteri S. mutans dengan diameter zona hambat rata-rata 17,7 mm.Kata kunci : obat kumur, Cerberra odollam Gaertn, formulasi, antibakteri, Streptococcus mutans

Abstract

Plumbago zeynalica L. plant belongs to the Plumbaginaceae family, which is spread as a weed in all tropical and sub-tropical countries, and its abundance is very high in Asia and Africa. P. zeynalica L. plants are ethnopharmacologically used as antitumor, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer, wound healed, and anti-inflammatory. This study aims to isolate secondary metabolites from the fraction of P. zeynalica L. leaf extracts with work stages that included isolation and determination of chemical structures by spectroscopy. Based on the results of the separation and purification of the ethyl acetate fraction obtained isolates in the form of a yellow oil suspected as a flavonoid. The chemical structure of the isolates was identified based on UV-Vis spectroscopy data giving maximum absorption at λmax 339.60 nm and 278.80 nm, which are typical for dihydroflavonol. IR spectroscopy analysis of the isolates provided data information on the presence of aliphatic OH, C-H groups, carbonyl groups (C = O), C = C aromatic groups, and ether strain (C-O-C). NMR data showed that the isolate had the molecular formula of C21H22O10, and its molecular weight confirmed by MS spectrometer was obtained m/z 434. Isolates from this ethyl acetate fraction were suspected as dyhydrokaempferol-3-O-ramnoside or engeletin.

Abstract

Dahu (Dracontomelon dao) termasuk famili anacardiacee yang mengandung berbagai senyawa metabolit sekunder yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber antioksidan alami. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan ekstraksi batang tumbuhan D. dao, menentukan aktivitas antioksidannya dan menganalisis kandungan senyawa metabolit sekundernya dengan LCMS/MS. Sampel batang D. dao diekstraksi secara bertahap dengan berbagai jenis pelarut seperti n-heksana, etil asetat, dan metanol. Setiap ekstrak dianalisis aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode 2,2-difenil-1 pikrilhidrazil (DPPH). Ekstrak teraktif dikarakterisasi dengan LC-MS/MS. Ekstrak metanol batang D. dao menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan paling baik dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 30,86 ppm, diikuti oleh ekstrak etil asetat dengan IC50 senilai 200,83 ppm dan ekstrak n-heksana dengan nilai IC50 348 ppm. Hasil identifikasi dengan LC-MS/MS ekstrak metanol mengandung senyawa tributilamina, medroksiprogesteron asetat, dan flavanon.

Abstract

Soap is one of cosmetic products whose purpose is to cleanse the body of soiled. Several cosmetic products were added antioxidant to protect skin from free radical that caused skin damage such as aging. Robusta coffee beans (Coffea canephora) contain bioactive phenolic compounds such as fenolic acid, chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid that have antioxidant, also have an aromatic distinctive odor. Any research mention that antioxidant activities of unroasted robusta coffee beans have value of IC50 0,131 (mg/ml), while other research mention that robusta coffe bean have value of IC50 140,24 ppm and classified as moderate antioxidant according to Blois criteria. The benefits of the coffee can be used as an active ingredient in liquid soap. The aim of this study to determine the formula of ethanol extract Robusta (Coffea canephora) liquid soap and antioxidant activities test. Liquid soap is made in four formulations with variation of coffee extract 0%; 0,014%; 0,14%; and 1,4 % and with test criteria physical properties, pH and free alkali test compared with the standard quality of liquid soap SNI 06-4085. Antioxidant activities test were used DPPH method with spectrophotometry uv-vis with 515 nm wave length. The absorbance of DPPH solutions before and after addition the sample was calculated as percent (%) of inhibition. Then the percent of inhibition value is entered into linear regression equation until the IC50 value is obtained. The result of the phytochemical test of coffee bean exstract contain alkaloid compounds which are antioxidants. Physical test, pH and free alkali did not meet all SNI quality standards, as well as antioxidant acticity test which gave IC50 values above 200, which means they have no antioxidant acticity. Therefore, in further research, it is necessary to optimized the formulation
