Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that has been confirmed to the Corona virus pandemic (Covid-19). The government have been making a policy to prevent of corona cases in Indonesia such as social distancing or physical distancing recommendations. One of the policy programs related to Physical Distancing in the education is that it requires lecturers to carry out the teaching and learning process at home. This policy is of course a challenge for nursing education institutions to continue to increase their role in providing a comfortable learning environment and appropriate learning methods in the corona virus pandemic (Covid-19) situation. Laboratory learning (skills lab) is an important part of a complex educational process and must be integrated in all educational programs that refer to the curriculum, especially the achievement of competencies for students. The method of this study was qualitative descriptive research the population of this study was lecturers who had experience in teaching Critical Concise Practicum Laboratory Skills. The sample in this study amounted to 4 participants. The results obtained 4 themes, namely: (1) unpredictable situation, (2) unable to directly assess the response (3) internet signal as an obstacle (4) efficient in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Background: Anxiety is one of the psychological problems which can develop in the elderly. If left untreated, it can decrease the productivity and quality of life. Mindfulness with Gayatri mantra is such a complementary therapy which is effective to reduce anxiety in the elderly.  Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of mindfulness with Gayatri mantra on decreasing anxiety in the elderly Hindus in Bali, Indonesia. Methods: This study employed a one group pre and posttest quasi-experimental design and involved 34 elderly people recruited using a purposive sampling technique. Anxiety was measured using the Geriatric Anxiety Scale (GAS). A t-test statistical analysis was used to analyze the data.   Results: Results showed that there were significant effects of mindfulness with Gayatri mantra on decreasing the anxiety in the elderly Hindus in Bali with a p-value of 0.000 (α-value = 0.05). Conclusion: Mindfulness with Gayatri mantra could decrease anxiety in the elderly Hindus. This therapy can be used as an alternative to prevent the recurrence of anxiety in the elderly.

Abstract

The world including Indonesia was shocked by a new outbreak named coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). The spread of the Covid-19 virus is very fast, in Indonesia Covid-19 cases in March 2021 reached 430,458 cases with the number of deaths due to Covid-19 as many as 38,753 cases. Various efforts have been made by the government in order to suppress and break the chain of transmission of Covid-19, including involving educational institutions, both government and private. The government's appeal is to maintain body immunity during the pandemic to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. One way to keep immunity stable is by utilizing natural elements such as the use of medicinal plants and also utilizing the body's energy in maintaining immunity as one of the promotive and preventive efforts. One of the therapies that is popular among the public is herbal therapy or traditional therapy called usadha taru premana therapy where red ginger is believed to have properties to maintain good immunity. Herbal therapy will have a good level of effectiveness when combined with modern therapies such as complementary therapies, one of which is acupressure. Acupressure is a massage therapy by pressing the body's meridian points which are believed to increase the immunity of the human body. Purpose: The review literature aim to see the effectiveness of Usada Taru Premana Combination of Acupressure as an alternative therapy to increase Immunity during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period. Methods: The method used in this literature review is to review articles using the Prisma method and quasi-experimental research design, analytical descriptive, literature review, survey and case reports based on evidence. Inclusion criteria were all studies reviewed in the form of research related to usadha taru premana red ginger; acupressure and immunity. Results: The number of journals reviewed for this study was 7, from 2017 to 2021. Conclusion: Based on a review conducted by researchers, it was found that red ginger and acupressure were effective for increasing immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

Elderly is a term for an individual who has entered the period of late adolescence or old age. The number of elderly in the province of Bali in 2018 reached 572.518 inhabitants. Elderly degeneration in terms of both aspects of the psychological and physiological aspects. One form of setbacks is a sleep disorder (insomnia). Insomnia is a disorder of the quantity and quality of sleep that inhibit its function. The elderly who suffer from insomnia to be an increase in sympathetic activity will increase blood pressure and decreased parasympathetic activity lowers blood pressure, in which blood pressure is influenced by the autonomous system that is sympathetic and parasympathetic. This study aims to determine the correlation betweeninsomnia with blood pressure in the elderly in Banjar Wangaya Kaja the work area of Public Health Center III North Denpasar. This research is an analytic correlational research aimed to see whether or not the correlation insomnia with blood pressure exist in the elderly by using cross sectional approach. The sample consisted of 88 respondents to the sampling technique used purposive sampling. Collecting data using questionnaires insomnia and blood pressure measurements using a mercury sphygmomanometer. Most elderly people experience severe insomnia that 68 (77.3%), and as many as 58 people (65.9%) of elderly hypertensive level 1. Based on the results-Spearman rank correlation test in getting the results p (value) = 0,000 <0 , 05 then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted which means there is a significant correlation between insomnia with blood pressure in the elderly in Banjar Kaja Wangaya. The results showed a correlation coefficient of r = 0,702,, it means the correlation is in a strong level, the positive direction of correlation means the higher the insomnia in the elderly, the higher blood pressure will be

Abstract

Elderly undergoes various changes due to the aging process, one of them is the musculoskeletal system which results in the elderly being vulnerable to falls and if not be treated, it can cause injury to the elderly and even death. One way to reduce the level of fall risk in elderly is to do balance exercises, especially four square step exercises which is not only train the muscle strength of elderly but also train the visual coordination. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of four square step exercises on the fall risk in elderly. This study used a design of pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test without control group. The study was conducted at PSTW Wana Seraya Denpasar. The respondens in this study selected through purposive sampling technique. Among 36 elderly who living at PSTW Wana Seraya Denpasar, there were 17 people who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After calculating the sample, there were 15 samples were obtained. The results of the study, the fall risk in elderly before four square step exercise were 12 respondents (80%) at moderate level and three respondents (20%) at high level. After training, nine respondents (60%) had a moderate fall risk and six respondents (40%) had low fall risk. Based on the results of Wilcoxon signed rank test statistical test, it was obtained p value = 0.003 <α 0.005 which means there is an influence of four square step exercises towards the fall risk in elderly. Based on the results of the study, the four square step exercise is an effective exercise to reduce the fall risk in elderly because it is a light exercise which is easily carried out by the elderly independently. This exercise is recommended to be applied as a method to reduce the fall risk in elderly.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular yang menjadi penyebab morbiditas dan mortalitas di dunia. 9,4% kematian setiap tahunnya diakibatkan karena komplikasi hipertensi. Hipertensi ditandai dengan peningkatan tekanan sistol >140 mmHg dan diastol >90 mmHg.  Bekam kering  merupakan salah satu terapi alternatif yang digunakan dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi. Tujuaan penelitian: mengetahui adanya pengaruh terapi bekam kering terhadap tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi primer. Studi ini adalah Quasi-eksperimental dengan pendekatan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Jumlah sampel 15 pasien hipertensi primer yang diambil dengan tehnik purposive sampling. Pengukuran data menggunakan tensi digital merk onemed. Analisis data menggunakan Paired T Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada tekanan darah sistolik diperoleh nilai p value sebesar 0,000 dan tekanan darah diastolik diperoleh nilai p value sebesar 0,001 ini berarti terdapat pengaruh tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik sebelum dan sesudah diberikan terapi bekam kering. Terapi bekam kering bisa dijadikan terapi alternatif untuk pasien dengan hipertensi primer.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers which is characterized by a shorter height compared to children their age. According to the Data and Information Center of the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2018), said that the incidence of short toddlers or commonly referred to as stunting is one of the nutritional problems experienced by toddlers in the world today. The Bali Provincial Government Health Office Profile report (2018) that the percentage of short toddlers is quite high compared to the percentage of underweight and underweight toddlers, with the highest percentage of short toddlers being in the Bangli Health Center area of 44% of toddlers whose height was measured. The purpose of community service is to increase the knowledge and skills of mothers with toddlers in Stunting Prevention and Parenting Management in fulfilling nutrition for toddlers through complementary therapeutic approaches in Banjar Tegal Linggah, Songan A Kintamani Bangli Village, the method used is to provide counseling, demonstration and screening. The results obtained are 65% of mothers with toddlers understand about Stunting Prevention and Parenting Management in fulfilling nutrition for toddlers. 98% of mothers with toddlers are able to do complementary therapy with acupressure or massage techniques to increase appetite in toddlers.

Abstract

Lansia cenderung mengalami penurunan ADL karena terdapat penurunan kesehatan fisik dan psikis. Sekitar 58% lansia yang berusia di atas 65 tahun lebih membutuhkan bantuan sehari – hari. Penting, memberikan perhatian khusus terhadap kesehatan lansia dengan tetap memelihara dan meningkatkan kemampuan individu agar dapat hidup produktif sesuai dengan kemampuannya. Mindfulness merupakan bentuk meditasi yang popular saat ini adalah meditasi kesadaran (Mindfulness). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan metode Penyuluhan self manajemen dengan terapi mindfulness, Latihan self manajemen dengan terapi mindfulness dalam meningkatkan status ADL lansia dan Skrining kesehatan meliputi: pengukuran berat badan, tinggi badan, tekanan darah, gula darah, kolesterol dan asam urat. Hasil dari Pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan yaitu dari 42 lansia pengetahuan self manajemen lansia sebelum diberikan terapi mindfulness sebagian besar memiliki pengetahuan cukup yaitu 20 lansia (47,62%) dan pengetahuan self managemen lansia setelah diberikan terapi mindfulness sebagian besar memiliki pengetahuan baik yaitu 26 lansia (61,90%).

Abstract

The 1000 HPK period is the early period of life while still in the womb for the first 2 years of life. 1000 HPK is very important because it greatly affects the condition of growth and development of children. The focus of handling nutrition in the 1000 HPK is to prevent malnutrition which is a major health problem in toddlers because it can hinder the process of growth and development and contribute to child morbidity and mortality. Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem due to inadequate nutritional intake within the 1000 HPK period resulting in impaired growth in children. service activities carried out through the collaboration of health education institutions and health institutions, one of which aims to increase mother's knowledge about 1000 HPK, fulfill the nutritional needs of mothers and toddlers, and balanced nutrition and change in good nutritional behavior. In addition, education for cadres must also be carried out so that cadres can provide ongoing education to mothers who have toddlers.
