Abstract

The prevalence of Diabetes mellitus (DM) from year to year is increasing. DM is characterized by hyperglycemia and glucose intolerance that occurs because the pancreatic gland is not able to produce insulin in an adequate or because the body cannot use insulin produced effectively or both. In patients with DM, atherosclerosis accounted for almost 80% of all deaths. In patients with DM dysfunction occurs from platelets. Platelets play a role in the process of hemostasis and have important roles in atherosclerosis and arterial thrombosis. The average platelet Volume or known as Mean Platelet Volume (MPV) is the marker of function and the activation of platelets. This research aims to see the relationship between MPV and the lipid profile in patients with DM. This research is a cross sectional research on medical record in the Rebo Market District general Hospital with samples of 300 patients. Data is obtained from January 2014 until December 2015. The Data was analyzed by using the help of SPSS 22.0 with double linear regression test methods. The resulting statistical test showed that there was no significant link between the MPV with lipid and pp glucose profiles (P > 0.05) but there was a significant link between the MPV and the fasting glucose (p < 0.05) in the DM sufferer.

Abstract

Primates are mammals in the animal kingdom and they are terestrial creatures. Primates in Indonesia approximately has 59 species and 79 subspecies which has different sizes and characteristics. Primates are arboreal creatures that spend most of their days hanging on trees for socializing, eating, and exploring. Those factors could be the reason why primates likes to migrate. Evolution by definition is the changes in the genes between the ancestor and its decendants in a long period of time. The cause of evolution varies from the earth geography, adaptability, natural selection, mating, dan mutation. Primates undergo progressive evolution which indicates its abilites to survive in different kinds of environment. This analysis is being used to find out the connection between area distribution and primates genetics in Indonesia based on Cytochrome B in silico analysis. Based on the Cytochrome B MEGA gene analysis and regional mapping using QGIS, the result of it is primates in Indonesia has genetic connection molecularly. Differentiation is not only caused by geographical changes but also by wide imigration activity. Primatesendemicity is not linier to the imigration activity.

Abstract

Mining for coal is a human activity that can contribute to air pollution. Solar power generation using a generator to produce electricity is one of the activities that cause air pollution. Electricity is crucial for mining operations, particularly in terminals that transport coal by river or sea. This study aims to develop a model of air pollution caused by PT XYZ's solar generator in Dangku Village, Muara Enim, South Sumatra, in the form of patterns of distribution and concentration levels of NO2 and CO pollutants, as well as to assess the health risks to the local community. The modelling development method employs the AERMOD software by inputting air quality data, meteorology, the specifications of the existing 2-meter chimney, and topography. To achieve NO2 levels of 180 ug/m3 and CO levels of 18.2 ug/m3, the model results indicate that the chimney's height must be increased to 4 metres in order to meet the quality standard for NO2 and CO levels. Regarding the results of the analysis of the level of public health risk in the area, there is no significant difference between chimneys measuring 2 and 4 metres. Abstrak: Penambangan batu bara merupakan kegiatan manusia yang dapat berkontribusi terhadap pencemaran udara. Pembangkit listrik tenaga surya dengan menggunakan genset untuk menghasilkan listrik merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang menimbulkan pencemaran udara. Listrik sangat penting untuk operasi pertambangan, terutama di terminal yang mengangkut batubara melalui sungai atau laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pencemaran udara akibat pembangkit tenaga surya PT XYZ di Desa Dangku, Muara Enim, Sumatera Selatan, berupa pola sebaran dan tingkat konsentrasi polutan NO2 dan CO, serta mengkaji risiko kesehatannya. kepada masyarakat setempat. Metode pengembangan pemodelan menggunakan perangkat lunak AERMOD dengan memasukkan data kualitas udara, meteorologi, spesifikasi cerobong 2 meter eksisting, dan topografi. Untuk mencapai kadar NO2 sebesar 180 ug/m3 dan kadar CO sebesar 18,2 ug/m3, hasil model menunjukkan bahwa tinggi cerobong asap harus ditambah menjadi 4 meter agar memenuhi baku mutu kadar NO2 dan CO. Terkait hasil analisis tingkat risiko kesehatan masyarakat di wilayah tersebut, tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara cerobong berukuran 2 dan 4 meter.
