Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat pada kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) UMB 2021 dengan program kerja edukasi bagi anak usia dini tentang semangat membaca. Karena pada usia dini merupakan periode emas dalam perkembangan otak manusia. Minat baca yang baik merupakan salah satu indikator kemajuan literasi sekaligus menjadi indikator kemajuan bangsa. Minat baca sebaiknya distimulus pada usia sedini mungkin. Kegiatan edukasi yang dilakukan melalui story tellling. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan metode lapangan. Kegiatan edukasi bagi anak usia dini tentang semanagt membaca yaitu melalui kegiatan story tellling. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di lingkungan RT/15 RW/003 Perumnas Diknas Surabaya tepatnya di sekolah RA Al- Huda. Hasil pengabdian menunjukan bahwa pada anak usia dini memiliki minat baca yang sangat rendah sehingga untuk meningkat minat baca yang tinggi  maka dilakukan kegiatan story tellling ini. Kata kunci: anak usia dini, edukasi, membaca story tellling.

Abstract

Abstrak: Matematika adalah salah satu mata pelajaran yang memiliki peranan penting, dengan jumlah jam pelajaran yang relatif lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan mata pelajaran lainnya. Covid-19 juga menyebabkan dampak besar dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu yang mengadakan kegiatan KKN Mandiri dalam bentuk pendampingan belajar melalui kegiatan bimbingan belajar matematika di rumah tepatnya di RT 05 Kelurahan Bajak. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk memperdalam materi yang belum maupun  sudah diberikan guru di sekolah sehingga siswa tidak merasa kesulitan dalam belajar serta meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman materi dan semangat belajar siswa mengalami perkembangan yang baik. Kata Kunci : bimbingan belajar, matematika, pendampingan belajar

Abstract

The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic has brought many changes in human life. One area of ​​human life that also feels the impact of this is in the field of education. The Covid-19 pandemic has become one of the obstacles for children who experience difficulties with online learning, such as in making assignments, not understanding the material delivered by the teacher, learning tends to be online assignments, and the difficulty of the internet network, especially for children who exist in the villages. Various efforts have been made to overcome the problems that occur, one of which is through the Tutoring Assistance program. The method used in this service is guidance. The guidance used is tutoring that emphasizes assisting junior high school students. This study assistance is a form of contribution in the field of community service. Community service activities aim as a means to channel the knowledge and concern they have for children who are currently undergoing their school period. In this service research the focus is on junior high school students in RT 05 Bajak Village. Based on the results of the dedication of tutoring activities, it can help parents who cannot accompany their children in participating in online learning for students and also to increase the learning motivation of junior high school students who live in RT 05, Bajak Village, Bengkulu Province

Abstract

Images can be used as a medium in poetry writing skills.  This research focuses on image media in improving the ability of junior high school students to write poetry. The purpose of this study explain the skills of writing poetry using image media. The results of this study are (1) The use of image media can be a poetry writing tool for students (2) Describe the role of teachers in learning to write poetry (3) Explain the obstacles faced by teachers in learning to write poetry (4) Explain obstacles for students to write poetry in class. This research data is in the form of information from interviews about poetry writing skills in Junior High School (SMPN) 09 Bengkulu city. This study involved educators and students at Junior High School (SMPN) 09 Bengkulu City. This study used techniques, observation, interviews, and documentation. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach.

Abstract

Discussion  of various kinds of text structures plays an important role in utilizing argumentative texts. This study aims to improve students' understanding of argumentation texts. The formulation of the problem in this study is 1. What are the factors that make students less understanding of argumentation texts. 2. How to improve student understanding. Data sources in this study were voice recordings, note-taking and interviews. In this study, researchers use a qualitative approach method because it is based on reality and events that take place in the field, namely about how to improve the understanding of argumentation texts in vocational students through simplification of texts. The reason researchers use a qualitative approach is because researchers can focus attention on natural events that occur and are experienced by students. In addition, researchers also conduct their own observations, interviews, and reveal the data obtained in depth. This study used data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. In qualitative research, this is carried out in various ways, one of which is the researcher goes directly into the field. The results of this study were seen from  the research sample used 50% of the population from the calculation for class XI Broadcasting 1 SMKN 3 students of Bengkulu City which amounted to 28 students taken 50%, namely 14 students. So the sample in this study was class XI Broadcasting 1 students totaling 14 students. The structure of the argumentation text itself, namely the introduction, the body of the argument and the conclusion. Based on the results of the assessment of argumentation text comprehension through a strategy of simplifying the text structure of 14 students, 7 male students and 7 female students, the average is 87.35. There were 7 students who were in the very good category and 7 students who were in the good category. The source of the data obtained in this study is in the form of student values. Judging from the object to be obtained, this research is included in the type of descriptive research using qualitative methods. Descriptive research is research conducted to find out the value of one or more variables without making comparisons and linking with other variables.
