Abstract

The study deals with classroom interaction with the main focus on the interference in learning English of the written text for the Indonesian native language. The outcome of this study is the significance of the effect of the differences between the structures of English and Indonesia on English written text. And this study also concentrates on the effect of students’ first language (Indonesia) in learning foreign language (English) particularly in the written text. This aspect of the study also tries to provide new information in the English learning context. The study shows that the process of first language ‘acquisition’ (L1) is somehow fundamentally different from the processes involved in ‘learning’ a second or foreign language (L2). It can make the language interference occur as the learners transferred element of their first language into second language or foreign language. The elements of language interference are grammatical, morphological, phonological, lexical, syntax, cultural and semantic level. In the interference process the errors and mistakes occurred in learning a new language or second language (L2) as a result of negative transfer or native language interference.

Abstract

Non-verbal behavior is still becoming an interesting thing to observe about. It has special meaning of each expression which has unique side of it. This article focuses on comparison of some non-verbal behaviors in Sasaknese, Vietnamese, and Western. Before coming to the topic, in introduction this paper explains about definition of cross cultural communication and intercultural communication and how do both differ each other. Both are essential in developing communication especially nonverbal communication. The nonverbal behavior will create misunderstanding and different interpretation among different cultures and places. It is the problems in cross cultural communication where the nonverbal communication among countries are different views each others. Therefore through this paper, I want to say that understanding cross cultural differences in behavior is a perquisite for understanding communication.Keywords : Non-verbal communication, culturePerilaku nonverbal masih menjadi hal yang menarik untuk diperhatikan. Ini memiliki arti khusus dari setiap ekspresi yang memiliki sisi uniknya. Artikel ini berfokus pada perbandingan beberapa perilaku non-verbal dalam bahasa Sasak, Vietnam, dan Barat. Sebelum membahas topik ini, dalam pendahuluan makalah ini menjelaskan tentang definisi komunikasi lintas budaya dan komunikasi antarbudaya dan bagaimana keduanya berbeda satu sama lain. Keduanya sangat penting dalam mengembangkan komunikasi terutama komunikasi nonverbal. Perilaku nonverbal akan menciptakan kesalahpahaman dan perbedaan interpretasi antar budaya dan tempat yang berbeda. Ini adalah masalah dalam komunikasi lintas budaya dimana komunikasi nonverbal antar negara saling berbeda satu sama lain. Oleh karena itu melalui tulisan ini, saya ingin mengatakan bahwa memahami perbedaan lintas budaya dalam perilaku adalah suatu hal yang indah untuk memahami komunikasi.Kata kunci: Komunikasi non verbal, budaya

Abstract

Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris bagi pembelajar muda merupakan hal yang penting untukdilakukan. Hal ini mencakup lebih dari mengajar keahlian bahasa. Pada pembelajar muda,usia sangat penting untuk mendorong kecerdasan, fisik, emosi, dan perkembangan socialmereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat silabus Bahasa Inggris bagi pembelajarmuda. Untuk membuat silabus yang memuaskan, peneliti melakukan beberapa langkahyaitu (1) menganalisa kebutuhan dan bahasa peserta didik (2) membuat draf silabus (3)mengimplementasikan produk. Dalam hal metode penelitian, peneliti mengumpulkan databerdasarkan perencanaan, observasi dan tindakan, dan penerapan. Untuk mengetahuikeberhasilan silabus, peneliti melakukan evaluasi untuk mengukur silabus dimana silabustersebut dapat digunakan untuk mengajar pembelajar muda.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris, Pembelajar Muda, Silabus.Teaching English to Young learners is essential thing to do. It involves more than merelyteaching language skills. In the young learners, age are extremely important to encouragetheir intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development. This study aims at designinga syllabus of English for young learners. To design satisfactory syllabus, the researcher didsome steps; (1) analysing of learners’ needs and language needs (2) drafting syllabus (3)implementing the product. In term of research method, the researcher collected data throughprocess of planning, observing and acting, and reflecting. To know the effectiveness of thesyllabus, the researcher did an evaluation to measure the syllabus where it was applicableto use in teaching young learners.Keywords: Teaching English, Young Learners, Syllabus

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan pada kelas sebelas program studi IPS SMA Negeri 1Keruak. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana metode CLSTADmeningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa yang termasuk pada mengenalkanproses dan hasil dari pembelajaran menggunakan metode ini. Untuk identifikasi proses,peneliti mengamati semangat siswa, aktifitas individu dan kelompok siswa ketika prosespembelajaran. Pada siklus pertama, didapatkan siswa dengan semanga yang rendah, kerjakelompok tidak efektif, dan beberapa siswa mengabaikan aturan tugas individu. Ketikamelakukan siklus kedua, mereka terlihat sangat bersemangat, kerja kelompok menjadi lebihefektif dan masing-masing iswa mengerjakan tugas individu dengan percaya diri. Jumlahsiswa yang mencapai standar penguasaan pembelaran yaitu 70%, naik dari siklus pertamake siklus kedua. Ini membuktikan bahwa hasil tes dari 8 (32%) dari 25 siswa yang mencapaipenguasaan standar pada siklus pertama menjadi 19 siswa (76%) pada siklus kedua.Dengan kata lain, kelas tersebut berhasil mencapai penguasaan standar belajar. Ini berartipencapaian pemahaman membaca siswa benar-benar bertambah dengan menggunakanmetode CL-STAD.Kata Kunci: Membaca, belajar kelompok, STAD.This Classroom Action Research was conducted at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1Keruak. This classroom action research is aimed at finding out how CL – STAD methodimprove students’ reading comprehension which implies at identifying the process and theresult of teaching learning using the method. To identify the process, the researcherobserved students’ enthusiasm, students’ cooperative and individual activities while teachinglearning process. In the first cycle, it was found that the students were less enthusiastic yet,the cooperative work was not effective, and some of them ignored the role of individual task.When conducting the second cycle, they seemed very enthusiastic, the cooperative workbecame more effective, and each student did his individual task confidently. While thenumber of students who reached the mastery learning standard, 70 %, increased from thefirst to the second cycle. It is proved by the result of the tests that from 8 (32 %) of 25students who gained the mastery learning standard in the first cycle became 19 (76 %)students in the second cycle. In other words, the class was successfully reached the masterylearning standard. It means that students’ reading comprehension achievement is trulyimproved by the use of CL – STAD Method.Keywords: Reading, Cooperative learning, STAD.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang silabus Bahasa Inggris Pariwisataberdasarkan pada tingkat dan kebutuhan siswa kelas XI di SMAN 1 Keruak. Silabusini didisain dengan mengacu kepada silabus kurikulum 2013 dimana prosespembelajarnnya menekankan kepada pendekatan ilmiah. Untuk merancang silabusyang memuaskan, peneliti melakukan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) denganmengadopsi lima langkah: (1) melakukan analisis kebutuhan, (2) membuat drafsilabus (3) implementasi silabus (4) perbaikan silabus (5) merancang produk akhir.Dalam hal metode penelitian, peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif untukmengumpulkan data. Empat alat pengumpulan data, angket, wawancara, studidocumenter dan observasi, digunakan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan siswa terhadapsilabus Bahasa Inggris Pariwisata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritasresponden menginginkan keterampilan berbicara (speaking) untuk dipelajari dalampelajaran Bahasa Inggris Pariwisata. Mempertimbangkan hasil penelitian tersebut,fungsi bahasa dan belajar aktif dikembangakn dalam silabus ini. Ada dua topikpelajaran yang dikembangkan yaitu topik yang berkaitan dengan objek wisata danobjek lokal. Setelah membuat draf silabus, peneliti mengimplementasikan produk padkelas terbatas dan seluruh kelas dalam lima pertemuan. Pada akhir implementasitimbal balik diberikan, hasilnya mengindikasikan bahwa informan memiliki pendapatpositif terhadap proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran dengan silabus tersebut. Untukmengetahui keberhasilan silabus, tes diberikan kepada siswa. Dari hasil tersebutmereka memiliki peningkatan yang sigifikan dari tes pertama sampai ketiga sehinggasilabus tersebut dapat digunakan untuk pengajaran mulok Bahasa Inggris Pariwisatauntuk siswa SMAN 1 Keruak.Kata Kunci: Silabus, Bahasa Inggris Pariwisata, Analisa Kebutuhan.The study aims at designing a syllabus of English for Tourism based on the level andthe needs of the eleventh grade students at SMAN 1 Keruak. The syllabus wasdesigned based syllabus in the Curriculum 2013 where it was focused on scientificapproach. To design satisfactory syllabus, the researcher did Research andDevelopment (R&D) study by adopting five steps; (1) doing needs analysis (2) draftingsyllabus (3) implementing the product, (4) revising the syllabus and (5) designing thefinal product. In term of research method, the researcher employed qualitative methodin gathering the data. Four data collection instruments, a questionnaire, interview,study documentary and observation, were used to know the students’ needs in thesyllabus of English for tourism. The result of research was indicated that the most ofrespondents needed speaking skill in EFT course. Considering the findings, languagefunctions and active learning were developed in the syllabus. There were two topicswere developed namely topic of tourism object and local object. After drafting thesyllabus, the researcher implemented the product at the restricted class and the wholeclass in five meetings. At the end of the implantation a feedback was administered, theresult of which indicated that the informants had positive opinion about the teachingand learning process by using the syllabus. To know the effectiveness of the syllabus,tests were given to students. From the results, they had significant progress from thefirst to the third test so that the syllabus was applicable to teach Mulok of English forTourism for SMAN 1 Keruak students.Keywords: Syllabus, English for Tourism, Needs Analysis.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe granting of suspension of detention in each level of the examination must remain based on the principle of quick, simple, and low-cost justice. Keeping all the risks that occur namely the escape of the suspect/defendant in the examination process is an effort so that the judicial process is fast (does not take a long time), simple (not convoluted), and low costs (the use of cost-effective case). Based on the due process model that requires fair and fair treatment by law enforcement agencies or institutions to all suspects/defendants, the partiality in the form of discriminatory treatment in the trial process of the suspect/defendant is a violation of the principle of equality before the law. which is an ideal desired by the community if it is violated, then the resulting legal product will lose its meaning. Guaranteed legal protection is implied in the principle of Equality Before The Law, which is not only a guarantee of getting the same treatment but also a guarantee that the law will not give privileges to other legal subjects. Because if this happens then it can violate the principles of Equality Before The Law and encourage the creation of discrimination before the law. The criminal justice system is based on the principles of being the guardian of the Indonesian criminal justice.Keywords: Suspension, Defendant, Law

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe how the application of quantum models of learning and how the result of learning Bedana dance in extracurricular activities. This research used descriptive qualitative method. Data collecting technique used in this study was observation, interview, field notes, documentation, practice test and non test. The results of observation for the achievement of learning process using the model of Quantum Learning can be seen that 1) Grow, students excellent criteria (100). 2) Experience, students excellent criteria (93). 3) Call, students excellent criteria (87). 4) Demonstrate, excellent criteria (87). 5) Repeat, students excellent criteria (87). 6) Celebrate, students excellent criteria (93). For the results of the observation sheets of individual practice tests 1 and 2, it could be seen that the average value obtained all students belonging as excellent criteria (93). While looking at the activities of the students obtained excellent criteria (88).Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bagaimanakah penerapan model Quantum Learning dan bagaimanakah hasil pembelajaran tari bedana pada kegiatan Ekstrakurikuler di SMA AL-AZHAR 3 Bandar Lampung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, catatan lapangan, dokumentasi, tes praktik dan non tes. Hasil pengamatan pencapaian proses pembelajaran menggunakan model Quantum Learning dapat diketahui bahwa 1) Tumbuhkan, siswa tergolong kriteria baik sekali (100). 2) Alami, siswa tergolong kriteria baik sekali (93). 3) Namai, siswa tergolong kriteria baik sekali (87). 4) Demonstrasikan, siswa tergolong baik sekali (87). 5) Ulangi, siswa tergolong baik sekali (87). 6) Rayakan, siswa tergolong kriteria baik sekali (93). Untuk hasil lembar pengamatan tes praktik individu 1 dan 2, dapat diketahui rata-rata nilai yang didapat seluruh siswa tergolong dalam kriteria baik sekali (93). Sedangkan ditinjau dari aktivitas siswa didapat kriteria baik sekali (88).Kata kunci: pembelajaran, quantum learning, tari bedana
