Abstract

The research problem are the students’ low writing skills in Arabic subjects and the teaching strategies used in the classroom. Hence, the researcher used the PAILKEM strategy with active learning and the Word Square model included in it. The PAILKEM strategy has been modified to become a strategic practice in improving the writing skills of Al-Asy'ari Elementary School pupils. With the PAILKEM strategy, the students become motivated to participate in lessons and the responsibility of the students is higher because the learning is grouped captivatingly but still takes care of the learning objectives that have been set. The results showed that after the PAILKEM strategy implementation, there were significant changes in students' learning, specifically in studying writing skills and developing students' social skills during the teaching process. The teaching activities were also effective.

Abstract

This study aims to measure psychological gestures and language acuity (linguistics) from sensory integration barriers or disorders in a child with Down syndrome named Muhammad Syauqi, with an IQ below 45, a child with special needs from QIS Surabaya. The purpose of this study was to determine linguistic ability (language ability related to pronunciation sharpness, duration of memorizing Arabic vocabulary, and language regularity), psychological resilience in the process of speaking Arabic, and to identify pronunciation barriers that are owned by the cognitive abilities of children with Down syndrome IQ in below 45. This study uses qualitative research with observation methods, namely field observations, accompanied by analysis and distribution methods, namely listening, taking notes, changing, and replacing. The descriptive analysis method is used to present information and data. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive analysis by describing and summarizing the data obtained statistically. The analysis results show that language use in children with Down syndrome, namely Muhammad Syauqi, is very different because apart from the lower average IQ, obstacles to pronunciation acuity also occur due to physical disorders in the mouth to the throat. Down syndrome children can only say one word because of the lack of vocabulary. Children with Down syndrome will point to the object they want when asking for something. Children with Down syndrome have difficulty pronouncing the vowels /alif/, /fa'/, /syin/, /shod/, /hot/ /'ain/, and /groin/, as well as the vibration of the sound /ro'/. Children with Down syndrome also experience difficulties pronouncing the correct articulation, even sounds that sound unclear, and sometimes make faint sounds without meaning that cannot be understood.

Abstract

The researcher carried out learning activities with Muhammad Syauqi as the research object. The researcher directly saw and observed how Muhammad Syauqi used language, which in learning mufrodat, the researcher used the PAILKEM strategy. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study type. In collecting data, researchers also used documentation and direct interviews with Muhammad Syauqi's mother as an informant (resource person). Qualitative data will be analyzed by researchers using a thematic analysis approach. Data organization, from interviews, observations, and document analysis will be organized and grouped based on general themes. The results of this research are the strategy used by the researcher using audiovisual stimuli in giving mufrodat, then the researcher gives a word guessing game, the researcher only uses vocabulary that he already knows in his first language. After that, researchers saw that Syauqi could also compose simple words by himself, both orally and in writing. The strategy implemented by the researcher was very effective in cultivating the spirit of Syauqi, but there were several obstacles found by the researcher, namely, there were several Arabic vocabulary words that were easy to pronounce, while those with repetition were difficult to pronounce, so the researcher concluded that there were several levels in the pronunciation of vocabulary for children. down syndrome. However, the solution to this obstacle is to provide intervention and treatment to Syauqi to increase his fluency and sharpness in pronouncing Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

Linguistic intelligence is an essential verbal skill that children, including those in early childhood, should possess. This study explores the stimulation of linguistic intelligence in early childhood through Arabic language learning at RA Mamba’ul Hisan Surabaya. The research employs a qualitative phenomenology and descriptive study methodology, with subjects including children aged 5-6 years and their teachers. Data collection techniques include observation and documentation. Observations are conducted to see how children engage with Arabic language learning activities such as watching animated videos, using interactive learning applications, storytelling, and singing Arabic songs. Documentation includes collecting children's work and recording their learning sessions. Data analysis uses a phenomenological approach to understand the lived experiences of the children and teachers. The analysis process involves bracketing (setting aside the researcher's preconceptions), describing (providing a detailed description of the observed phenomena), analyzing (identifying significant statements and themes), and synthesizing (integrating themes to form a comprehensive understanding). The findings indicate that stimulating linguistic intelligence in early childhood through Arabic language learning—watching animated videos, using interactive learning applications, storytelling, and singing songs in Arabic—is effective for children aged 5-6 years. Children show high enthusiasm when watching Arabic animated videos, listening to and singing songs, and listening to stories in Arabic. They can remember new vocabulary and understand the meaning of words in the context of stories conveyed through animation and songs. Interactive learning applications provide a fun learning experience, with children actively participating in games featuring hijaiyyah letters and simple vocabulary, helping them recognize and remember these words easily. The effectiveness of these methods is high due to engaging visual, auditory, and kinesthetic stimuli.
