Abstract

This study aims to determine how the structure and performance of the confection industry in Pekanbaru city. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive methods. The type of data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. Where the primary data itself is obtained directly from respondents through interviews, documentation and questionnaires. While the secondary data itself is obtained through government agencies such as the Department of Industry and Trade of Pekanbaru City. The analytical method used in this research is a strategy of analyzing structure and industrial performance with the help of Market Share (MS, Concentration Ratio (CR), Indeks Herfiendahl-Hirschman (IHH), and Price Cost Margin(PCM). The results of the study of market share obtained the highest MS of 6,79% and the lowest MS of 1,25%. Research on the Concentration Ratio of 4 companies (CR4) in the confection industry in Pekanbaru City amounted to 24,55%. Indeks HerfiendahlHirschman (IHH) calculation is 0,048599. Abstract

Skin crackers are one of the processed food industries that are quite popular in the community. Apart from cultural factors, the majority of the population likes skin crackers, another factor is the existence of cowhide waste in the Slaughterhouse which is the main ingredient for abundant skin crackers and facilitates the production of crackers. leather in Pekanbaru City. In analyzing the number of requests for skin crackers in Pekanbaru City, there are many factors that influence the demand. In this study, there are 3 factors that become independent variables in the analysis of the demand for skin crackers in Pekanbaru City, including income (X1), taste (X2), and the price of skin crackers (X3). Meanwhile, the dependent variable is demand (Y). The method used is multiple linear regression analysis, namely the partial regression test (t test), simultaneous coefficient test (F test) and the coefficient of determination (R2). The results of this study are based on statistical testing of the partial regression equation, namely the independent variable income (X1), taste (X2) and price (X3) have a significant effect on the dependent variable, namely the demand for skin crackers in Pekanbaru City. Based on the regression equation simultaneously, it shows that income, taste and price have a significant effect on the demand for skin crackers. Meanwhile, based on the coefficient of determination (R2) shows that the independent variable has an effect of 71.1% on the demand for skin crackers, the remaining 28.9% is influenced by other variables not included in this regression model.Keywords: Demand, Income, Taste, Price

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the right development strategy to be applied to the creative cafe & restaurant industry in Pekanbaru City. The population and sample used in this study were 72 cafes & restaurants. The analytical tool method used in this research is descriptive method and SWOT analysis in order to find out the constraints faced by the cafe & restaurant industry and provide appropriate alternative strategies for the cafe & restaurant industry in Pekanbaru. The results showed that the analytical methods used were EFAS matrix, IFAS matrix, and IE matrix. Based on the analysis of the external and internal environment of the cafe & restaurant industry in the city of Pekanbaru is in a position of growth where the strategy of concentration through horizontal integration. This means that the strategy adopted is more defensive, which is to avoid losing sales and losing profits so an SO strategy needs to be applied. In implementing the SO strategy, the cafe & restaurant industry in Pekanbaru City needs to prioritize the application of strategies to expand markets and improve product quality supported by technological developments, strategies to utilize strategic cafe & restaurant locations to make it easier for people to recognize products and be easily visited by the community, strategies utilize cheap prices and add menu variants to increase industrial activities so that the products offered are more varied and attract many visitors.Keywords: Cafe & Resto Industry, SWOT Analysis, IE Matrix
