Abstract

Garbage is a serious problem, especially for urban areas. Tungkal Ilir Subdistrict, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, as a tidal area has its uniqueness in the form of building houses and this of course has an impact on people's habits of deliberately throwing garbage under the house. The purpose of this study is to identify the perception and participation of the people of Tungkal Ilir District in household waste management, to analyze the influence of internal and external factors partially and simultaneously with perceptions in household waste management in Tungkal Ilir sub-district, and to analyze the influence of internal, external and perceived factors. community Partially and Simultaneously with community participation in household waste management in Tungkal Ilir District. The research method uses frequency distribution analysis and multiple regression analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, most of the people's perceptions of Tungkal Ilir District in household waste management with 14.0% perceptions and 20% participation of the community in the Very Low category, 46.0% perceptions and participation of 65% of the people in the Low category, 32% perceptions and participation of 18% of people in the high category and 8% of the perception and participation of 7% in the community in the very high category. There is an influence of the level of knowledge and the role of the government/community leaders on the perception of household waste management and is significant with a sig value of 0.00 < 0.05 and an R Square of 0.467. There is an influence between the level of knowledge, the role of government / community leaders and perceptions of community participation in household waste management and is significant with a sig value of 0.00 < 0.05 and R Square 0.476
