Abstract

The third producing oil palm plant or TBM III is an oil palm plant that is 36 months old and is a potential initial plant for producing palm oil. This research aims to identify the diversity of soil mesofauna in the PTPN III Plantation during the TBM III growth phase. The research was carried out at Perkebunan Nusantara 3 Aek Nabara Selatan in December 2023. The sample was determined using purposive random sampling based on slope differences, namely 0-5% and 5-15%. For one type of slope, 4 different observation locations were taken at random so that a total of 8 sample units were obtained. Each observation sample was made into a cube-shaped monolith with dimensions of 30 x 30 x 40 cm. The results of meso and macrofauna observation data were tested for differences in slope of 0-5% and 5-15% based on the t test at the 5% level. The research results show that a slope of 0-5% has a larger fauna distribution than a slope of 5-15%. This indicates that flatter land has greater macro and mesofauna activity because the area is covered by plant remains. On slopes of 0-5% to 5-15% the macrofauna is dominated by ants and earthworms. Key words: soil mesofauna, species diversity, TBM III INTISARITanaman sawit menghasilkan ketiga atau TBM III merupakan tanaman kelapa sawit yang berumur 36 bulan dan merupakan tanaman awal yang potensial untuk memproduksi sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman mesofauna tanah di Perkebunan PTPN III pada fase pertumbuhan TBM III. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Perkebunan Nusantara 3 Aek Nabara Selatan pada Desember 2023. Penentuan sampel dilakukan secara purposive random sampling berdasarkan perbedaan kelerengan yaitu 0-5% dan 5-15%. Pada satu jenis kelerengan diambil 4 lokasi pengamatan berbeda secara acak sehingga diperoleh 8 satuan sampel secara keseluruhan. Tiap sampel pengamatan dibuat monolith berbentuk kubus dengan dimensi 30 x 30 x 40 cm. Hasil data pengamatan meso dan makrofauna diuji perbedaan kelerengannya 0-5% dan 5-15% berdasarkan uji t pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  kelerengan 0-5% memiliki sebaran fauna yang lebih besar dibanding dengan kelerengan 5-15%. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa lahan yang lebih datar memiliki aktivitas makro dan mesofauna yang lebih besar karena daerahnya ditutupi oleh sisa tanaman. Pada kelerengan 0-5% hingga 5-15% makrofauna didominasi oleh semut dan cacing tanah. Kata kunci: mesofauna tanah, keragaman jenis, TBM III

Abstract

Oil palm plants are commodities that play an important role in improving the national economy, especially increasing employment opportunities and increasing state income. This research aims to microscopically isolate fungi from palm oil waste compost. This research method is used descriptively using quantitative methods. Research has been carried out by taking samples of palm waste fertilizer, isolation, purification and microscopic observations. The fungal isolation medium used was Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA). Based on the results of fungal isolation from empty oil palm bunches (TKKS), 1 fungal isolate was obtained which had a round shape, had septa and had hyphae whose cells were separated by partitions called septa and were branched. The conodiophores are white, appear straight and branched, characteristic of the purple hyphae with white spots and white spores. Key words: empty palm oil bunches; isolation; fungi

Abstract

Kailan mustard greens (Brassica oleraceae L.) is a horticultural plant that can be used as a family food source. This research aims to determine the effect of providing coconut dregs compost and NPK fertilizer on the growth of kailan mustard greens. The research was carried out in Ujung Bandar, Rantau Selatan, Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Factorial Design with the first factor being coconut dregs compost consisting of 4 levels, namely A0: control, A1: 200 g/plant, A2: 400 g/plant, A3: 600 g/plant, and the second factor was NPK which consists of 4 levels, namely N0: control, N1: 5g/plant, N2: 10 g/plant, N3: 15 g/plant. The results of the research showed that there was an interaction effect of providing coconut dregs compost and NPK on plant height, number of leaves and leaf area of kailan mustard greens. The combined dose of 600 g of coconut dregs with 15 g of NPK produced the best growth in plant height, number of leaves and leaf area of kailan mustard greens. Key words : coconut dregs;compost; fertilizer; kailan. INTISARISawi kailan (Brassica oleraceae L.) adalah tanaman hortikultura yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber pangan keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk kompos ampas kelapa dan pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman sawi kailan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Ujung Bandar, Rantau Selatan, Labuhanbatu, Sumatera Utara. Percobaan disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan faktor pertama adalah kompos ampas kelapa yang terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu A0: kontrol, A1: 200 g/tanaman, A2: 400 g/tanaman, A3: 600 g/tanaman, dan faktor kedua NPK yang terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu N0: kontrol, N1: 5g/tanaman, N2: 10 g/tanaman, N3: 15 g/tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya interaksi pengaruh pemberian kompos ampas kelapa dan NPK terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, dan luas daun tanaman sawi kailan. Kombinasi dosis 600 g ampas kelapa dengan 15 g NPK menghasilkan pertumbuhan terbaik  terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, dan luas daun tanaman sawi kailan. Kata kunci : ampas kelapa, kailan, kompos, pupuk.

Abstract

Brassica juncea L. or bitter mustard grows well in hot environments and is capable of producing fertile flowering seeds on its own. This research aims to determine the effect of providing eco-enzyme and NPK fertilizer on the growth of bitter mustard greens. The research was conducted in Ujung Bandar Labuhanbatu Village, Rantau Selatan, between January and March 2024. This research used a two-factor factorial randomized block design (RAK). First, the Mutiara NPK fertilizer factor with four levels: N0 as control, N1: 50 g/plant, N2: 75 g/plant, and N3: 100 g/plant. Second, the eco-enzyme factor with four levels: E0 as control, E1 25 ml/plant, E2: 50 ml/plant, and E3: 75 ml/plant. The research results showed that the combination of eco-enzyme and Mutiara NPK fertilizer had a significant effect on the growth of bitter mustard greens as indicated by the parameters of plant height, leaf area and number of leaves. A dose of 75 g of eco-enzyme and 50 ml of Mutiara NPK fertilizer is the best dose in providing the best influence on plant height, leaf area and number of bitter mustard leaves              Keywords: eco-enzyme; NPK mutiara; bitter mustard
