Abstract

The government makes a policy for health workers to use MCH Handbook as a communication tool and medium for counseling mothers, families and the community regarding maternal and child health services including their references, mother and child service packages, nutrition, immunization and toddler development. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the compliance of MCH Handbook completion. This research is an analytic study with cross sectional approach. The population in the study were all Independent Midwife Practices (PMB) in the Lamongan district area which were listed in the IBI Branch Management as many as 572, which were divided into 38 branches. The samples were 82 PMB  obtained through simple random sampling, namely the lottery technique. The independent variables in this study were Knowledge, Motivation, Supervision and Work Time while the dependent variable is Compliance with the MCH Handbook. The collected data were processed using Bivariate and Multivariate tests. The results showed that the variables of knowledge, motivation, supervision and length of work affected the compliance of midwives in completing the MCH handbook with p <0.05. It means that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The effects were also influenced the knowledge variable where p <0.05.    Based on the above data, it can be concluded that completing the MCH Handbook by midwives is important in order to monitor the development of maternal and infant health and as a means of communication to the patients. Keywords: Compliance, Midwife, Mother and Child Handbook

Abstract

Flour albus is one of three women's problems that were originally considered a common problem but eventually become severe and even cause infection. The problem of this research was the high incidence of pathological flour albus. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in pathological flour albus before and after administration of basil leaf infusion (in women of childbearing age (WUS) at Independent Midwifery Practice Ny. Aida Hartatik, S.ST Dlanggu-Deket-Lamongan. This research applied pre-experimental research design with one-group pre-test-post-test-design approach. The population was all women of childbearing age who experienced flour albus at BPM Ny. Aida Hartatik, S.ST in February-June 2019. The samples were twenty-five women obtained by incidental sampling. The research variables were pathological flour albus and treatment with basil leaf infusion. The data were taken by interview and observation. Then, the data were analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Rank statistical test with a significant level of = 0.05. The results showed that 64% of women of childbearing age before being given basil leaves increased while 72% of women of childbearing age after being given basil leaf infusion decreased. There were differences in pathological flour albus before and after infusion of basil leaves in women of childbearing age with Z=-2,800 and p=0,000. In addition to being given basil leaf infusion (Ocimum Sanctum L), another effort to overcome this problem is through the participation of health workers in providing early information about the prevention and treatment of pathological flour albus.

The current study aimed to identify female adolescents’ knowledge of menstrual cycle both before and after the treatment and to analyze the effect of focus group discussion on the knowledge improvement. This research used pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest approach. The population was all female students in class VIII A and VIII B at  SMP Negeri 1 Pucuk on July 2022 as many as 32 students with a sample size of 28 students using simple random sampling with lottery techniques, treatment with the Focus Group Discussion method. After the data was collected, it was then tabulated and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. The results showed that 27 out of 28 (96%) respondents had good knowledge of menstrual cycle after focus group discussion was held while only 1 (4%) respondent had fair knowledge. Meanwhile, from the statistical test results, it was found that there was an effect of focus group discussion on female adolescents’ knowledge of menstrual cycle with a value of -4.919a with a significance level of p <0.05.From the results, it is expected that respondents can apply the knowledge they gained so that they can be better in thinking and acting.
