Abstract

Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) is considered as a global health problem because of its high incidence and low survival rates. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) performed immediately by a bystander for OHCA patients increases the patients’ survival rate. However, the rate of CPR for OHCA patients remains very low due to the lack of willingness to become a bystander. One way to increase the number of CPR bystanders is by providing training on how to perform CPR. Students is considered to be the best bystander candidate because of their high curiosity and ability to memorize complex objects. This community service aims to increase the survival rates of OHCA patients through the youth cadreization responding to cardiac arrest using the Smartphone Application "Be A Bystander". This community service activity includes providing education about cardiac arrest and CPR, training on CPR with the simulation method (roleplay), and training on CPR using the “Be a Bystander” application. The indicators of the success of this community service are an increase in the knowledge, skills, and willingness of participants to become a bystander. Evaluation showed a significant increase in knowledge (p = 0.000), skills (p = 0.000), and willingness (p = 0.000) of participants before and after programs were carried out. After this community services activity, we hope more students are willing to become a competent bystander.

Abstract

The government has started to require limited face-to-face learning starting in July 2021. Until now, cases of Covid-19 transmission are still being reported. Primaganda High School, Jombang is one of the high schools in Jombang within the Pondok Pesantren environment with moderate exposure to Covid-19 transmission. The risk of transmission during face-to-face learning will be quite high, so there is a need for an integrated management of COVID-19 handling based on proper human resource empowerment. The purpose of community service is to increase empowerment through training. The integrated training was provided for 2 months involving 46 students (referred to as “Genera-Z Tangguh”) as initial movers. Empowerment focuses on preventing the transmission of Covid-19 (education and application of health protocols), and 4T (tracing, texting, testing, treatment) by utilizing digital applications. Activity results include, 1) An increase in the knowledge of Tangguh Genera-Z members about the application of health protocols in schools with an average score of 90 (pre-test mean 30), 2) An increase in knowledge of Tangguh Genera-Z members about 4T cases of Covid-19 with an average post-test score of 70 (pre-test mean 30), 3) The establishment of an integrated Covid-19 handling system related to reporting management and handling of related parties at Primaganda High School Jombang. It can be concluded that this activity is one of the important student social activities and needs to be an example for its application in other schools, to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the school environment.

Abstract

Online learning in nursing education has been carried out for a long time by several educational institutions worldwide. However, online learning in Indonesia has been forced to take place since the Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic was announced. This study aims to determine how students perceive learning support and how it relates to learning outcomes and student satisfaction in online learning that has been implemented for the even semester of 2021. This study involved 160 respondents willing to participate in filling out statements related to online learning support, Grade Point Average (GPA), and satisfaction. The data were analyzed using the Pearson test. The results showed a positive correlation between support for nursing student satisfaction during online learning (p<0.05). However, this study's support did not correlate with learning outcomes (p>0.05). Most nursing students perceive instructional, lecturer, peer, and technical support positively. A detailed explanation of why the results of this study are important and discussed in the article. In conclusion, educational institutions must periodically evaluate students' perceptions of learning support, which is not only limited to online learning but also blended learning which is likely to be applied. In addition, satisfaction can also help assess how to provide an overview of students' views as regular customers at nursing education institutions.

Abstract

In the current covid-19 endemic, degenerative diseases still have a high prevalence and morbidity rate, one of which is hypertension. The high prevalence of hypertension can be caused by many factors such as improper lifestyle management that can be prevented by adopting a healthy lifestyle. Adults and elderly with hypertension are encouraged to receive non-pharmacological treatments to minimize risk factors for cardiovascular and other systemic and degenerative diseases. Families have an important role in providing information about hypertension and the risk of complications for patients. Families also have a role in providing appropriate care, especially during the period towards endemic covid-19. Counseling was conducted on patients and their families in Sumberejo Village, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency. The activity was carried out with an initial examination and counseling consisting of 2 main topics: 1) what is hypertension and 2) hypertension care management by family at home. The results showed an increase in knowledge related to physical activity, high blood control, and the role of the family at home with a score of 70 and joint exercises were routinely carried out every 2 weeks. For the sustainability of the program, coordination was carried out with relevant stakeholders.
