Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada 2 Kelompok Petani Kelapa di Desa Leleoto Kecamatan Tobelo Timur.  Keinginan petani untuk menggantikan sebagian tanaman kelapa yang telah berusia tua dan tidak  produktif lagi  serta  mengembangkan tanaman sela  di  antara  tanaman kelapa. Kegiatan yang dilakukan tersebut terkendala beberapa masalah diantaranya bibit yang akan ditanam sulit diperoleh, kurangnya pengetahuan dan ketrampilan petani dalam menyiapkan bibit tanaman  buah naga. Target yang ingin dicapai adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan ketrampilan petani dalam teknik  budidaya  tanaman  buah naga.  Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dan pelatihan dan pembuatan demplot pembibitan  buah naga oleh kelompok. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini mampu menghasilkan luaran-luaran yang diharapkan termasuk memberi pengetahuan dan ketrampilan baru bagi anggota kelompok.  Kata Kunci  : Pembibitan, Tanaman Sela,  buah naga

Abstract

The training activities are targeted at Youth group in Daru Village, with the main problem is a lack of knowledge about forest plant nursery techniques. The target to be achieved is to increase the knowledge and skills of young people in the supply of plant seeds. The method used is counseling and training aimed at improving youth skills in forestry seedling nursery techniques. The results of the implementation of the activities show that the training activities have been able to produce the expected output that is to provide knowledge and skills for youth, as well as have encouraged youth in Daru Village to replant forest areas independently.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in Kali Upa village, Tobelo Tengah sub-district, with the aim of increasing community knowledge and technology in the cultivation of yard plants, so that each family could strengthen food through these activities. The method used in this activity was counseling and continued with discussions with villagers as a process for transferring knowledge. This service is carried out as one of the village programs to improve the ability of the community to manage their yards of land so that the produce can be consumed as an additional source of family income. Optimizing the use of the yard by planting various types of agricultural crops can meet the food needs of the community also increase community income. In addition, food availability is one of the important factors in supporting community food security, because it is one indicator of welfare of life. Kali Upa Village is an area that has a flat topography and belongs to a group of narrow yard - medium yards, so that the use of plots can be done by combining various types of plants, including a combination of fruit plants, vegetable plants, food plants and other local plants which are adjusted with yard area.

Abstract

This community service activity is carried out in the Efi-Efi Village, South Tobelo District, with the aim of providing skills and knowledge to farmers both about the use of high yielding variety of upland rice seeds and good upland rice cultivation techniques. The method used in this service is counseling about the cultivation of upland rice, the provision of high yielding variety of upland rice seeds and agricultural equipment and the making of high yielding variety of upland rice demonstration plots. Participants in this activity are the farmer women's group Efi-Efi, amounting to 20 members, who have been planting upland varieties of local upland rice. The results of the evaluation of community service activities showed that the knowledge and skills of the groups of women farmers who cultivated field rice had increased, and farmers accepted the use of high yielding variety of upland rice seeds introduced to them. In addition, there has also been a change in understanding in terms of shifting cultivation as has been done so far.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are 1). Knowing the types of plants that have the potential as a food source 2) Knowing which parts of plants are used as foodstuffs 3) Knowing how to process plant species as a source of food for the people on the coast of Galela, while the benefit of this research is the identification of plant types that have the potential to be a source of food for the community galela area. The method used is a survey method by giving structured questions. Primary data is data from interviews with respondents and direct observation in the field, which includes; observation data on plant species, (2) parts of the plant used (3) how to process the food material. Respondents in this study were housewives in the coastal area of Galela with a total of 65 respondents. The results showed that 1) there were 35 types of plants and 20 families that were used by the community as food sources, both cultivated and found in nature. The parts of plants consumed by the community vary, ranging from leaves, stems, flowers, fruit, tubers, rhizomes, to leaf buds. The leaves, flowers, young stems are mostly consumed as vegetables. 3) The types of bananas and yams consumed as staple food are usually processed by boiling, coconut milk, or frying them.

Abstract

Saat ini di Halmahera Utara petani sedang mengikuti program alih teknologi pertanian khususnya tanaman hortikultura.  Salah satu tanaman hotikultura yang dibudidayakan adalah kubis, akan tetapi dalam peningkatan produksi kubis mengalami permasalah organisme penggangu tanaman (OPT).  Spodoptera litura (F.) merupakan salah satu hama yang menyerang kubis. Serangan hama tersebut dapat menyebabkan kerusakan hingga 90 persen jika tidak dikendalikan. Salah satu cara mengurangi masalah akibat penggunaan insektisida sintetik yaitu perlu dikembangkan sarana pengendalian yang efektif dan ramah lingkungan  dengan menggunakan insektisida yang berasal dari tumbuhan (insektisida nabati).  Berdasarkan hal ini dilakukan penelitian mengenai efektivitas ekstrak buah bitung (Barringtonia asiatica L. ) terhadap hama Spodoptera litura F. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL).  Perlakuan adalah konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu 10 persen, 20 persen, 30 persen, 40 persen, 50 persen, dan kontrol. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengendalian S. litura dengan menggunakan ekstrak B. Asiatica efektif.  Rata- rata mortalitas menunjukan hasil presentasi yang sangat baik.  Mortalitas tertinggi 84,25 persen ditemukan pada konsentrasi ekstrak 50 persen., dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak buah efektif dalam mengendalikan larva S. litura. Saran perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang efektifitas ekstrak  buah bitung dalam mengendalikan hama lain pada tanaman kubis bahkan hama pada tanaman sayuran lainnya.

Abstract

This community empowerment activity is carried out to improve the skills and abilities of women's farmer groups, especially in the cultivation of organik vegetables, making liquid organik fertilizer, and making fruit fly traps. The low level of knowledge and skills in cultivating organik vegetables is a problem faced by women's farmer groups. The method used in this activity is in the form of counseling, training and making organik vegetable demonstration plots. The activities carried out are divided into several stages, including the initial meeting with the group, submission of tools and supporting materials for cultivation activities, preparation of extension and training tools and materials, extension of organik vegetable cultivation, pest and disease counseling, training on making fruit fly traps and training in making organik fertilizers as well as making vegetable plant demonstration plots. The results of this activity are improving the ability and skills of producing liquid organik fertilizer, making fly traps, and cultivating organik vegetables.

Abstract

Low selling prices, low coconut production due to old age of coconut plants, and monoculture planting patterns are some of the factors that cause low income of coconut farmers so they live in poverty. Service activities carried out on coconut farmers in East Tobelo Sub district with the aim of training farmers to have the knowledge and skills to cultivate dragon fruit plants as intercrops among coconut plants. Problems faced by farmers include, lack of knowledge and skills in cultivating dragon fruit plants. The target to be achieved is the increasing knowledge and skills of coconut farmers in dragon fruit cultivation techniques. The methods used include counseling, training and planting dragon fruits in demonstration plot. This service program can be concluded to be able to produce expected outcomes including providing new knowledge and skills for group members while at the same time encouraging the community to seek additional income independently

Abstract

The research that has been carried out in Tobelo Tengah District aims to determine the types of weeds and their dominance. Weed identification was carried out using the quadratic method using rectangular plots. The results showed that the weeds found were almost uniform in each observation plot between different ages of observation at the observation site, while the weed families found were almost consistent in both locations namely Capparidiceae, Cyperaceae, Poaceae and Portulacaceae

Abstract

This research was carried out in Soatobaru Village, West Galela sub District for 2 months, aims to identify the types of plants used by the Galela community as traditional medicinal ingredients, including sections and methods of processing. The method used is the survey method where the team conducts direct observations to the field and then takes the potential drug specimen, as well as conducting interviews with respondents for information on plant parts and processing methods. Data analysis is carried out descriptively based on the results of research and presented in the form of graphics, images and tables. The results showed that 27 species were found and came from 24 medicinal plants at the study site, which could be grouped in 6 habitus, namely trees, shrubs, palma bushes, vines and herbs. There are 15 types that use leaves, 12 types of use fruit, 3 types used seeds, 2 types using roots and tubers, and 1 type using fruit water.
