Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Badan Ketahanan Pangan dan Pusat Informasi Jagung (BKPPIJ), Provinsi Gorontalo, selama 10 minggu. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui performans (penampilan) ayam lokal yang diberi pakan dari bahan baku lokal (buatan sendiri) dibandingkan dengan pakan buatan pabrik. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ayam kampung (lokal), umur satu hari (DOC), sebanyak 200 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah pakan lokal dengan protein 16,2% (A), 17,7 % (B), 21,5 % (C), dan sebagai pembanding pakan industry (pabrik) protein 20,2 % (D). Untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan, dilakukan dengan Analisa Sidik Ragam. Pengujian selanjutnya dilakukan dengan uji Jarak menurut prosedur Duncan. Berdasarkan analisis ekonomi menunjukkan bahwa pembuatan pakan dari bahan baku lokal dengan protein 17,7 % dan energi metabolisme 2.323 Kkal/kg (Perlakuan B), ternyata memberikan keuntungan paling baik (R/C = 1,49), dibandingkan dengan pakan industri (Perlakuan D) dengan R/C = 1,19. Oleh karena itu, pemberian pakan ayam yang dibuat dari bahan baku lokal cukup potensi dikembangkan di Gorontalo.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest country that has oil palm plantations, covering 7.3 million ha area (2009), with production of 19.4 million tonnes of crude palm oil (CPO) which is expected to palm oil sludge waste as much as 1.94 million tons/year. Palm oil sludge waste is one alternative to potential animal feed ingredients. The low nutritional value and high fiber content causes palm oil sludge requires special treatment before given to animal. The fermentation process is able to increase the nutritional value of the palm oil sludge, such as increasing levels of crude protein and energy metabolism, and also may reducing content of coarse fiber. This fermentation product can be stored at room temperature for 12 weeks without experiencing significant changes in nutritional value. The usage limit of palm oil sludge which is recommended for poultry is 15%. The optimum limit of palm oil sludge in the diets of goats and sheep is 47% and 40% for cows (in concentrate). The use of rice bran on ruminants can be replace entirely by the palm oil sludge. Fermentation techniques can be done to improve the nutritional value of the palm oil sludge, but this technique needs to be studied economically, such as: during the drying process (because of the high content of LMS), and the quite expensive fermentation. Another technique to minimize costs has been done, for example by utilizing the available energy sources in the plant oil.Keywords: palm oil sludge, nutritive values, ruminant, poultry, fermentation.

Abstract

Kayambang is water seed from Indonesia which can be used for animal feed. In village it is usually used for duck and village fowl (kampong chicken). Kayambang grows very much on water surface and have hight nutrition include energy and protein. Animal feed are used for growth requirement and to support sintetics reactionsform its body. Energy from the feed is not used for animal infull. In each ingredient at least has 4 kind of energy : Gross Energy, Digestible energy, Metobalic energy and netto energy. Metabolic energy is impotant to measure form each ingredient because it is used for all requirement such as maintanance, growth, feedlot and layer. This research has goal for knowing about metabolic energy which can be used for animal especially for village fowl.The methodology was done by 14 male village fowl (11 chicken for metabolic energy, 3 chicken for endogenous nitrogen). Individual was caged to collect feces. Kayambang was used as meal and given to the chicken. The results showed that Kayambang has energy contains potentially for village fowl. Total metabolic energy is 2857,56 and apparent metabolic energy is 2433,66 Kkal/kg.Key words : kayambang, village fowl, animal feed, nutrition.

Abstract

Feed is the main component in livestock industry, and contributes 70% of the total farming cost. Agriculture by-product is one of the alternative feed ingredients for goat feed. The width of cocoa estates in Indonesia in period 2003-2007 shows the highest improvements (43,5 %) than other commodity estates, thus cocoa estates have integrated prospect with livestock industry. Cocoa husk is the most waste of cocoa (73,77 %) and contains raw protein and energy which is not too different with kinggrass, so can substitute green feed more than half. The potential of livestock integrated with the cocoa estates ha a good prospect on the public estate’s development. Cocoa estate has a good prospect to support the integrated with goat farming, however it need s a real concept of the integrated program that work sustainable. The potency of cocoa estate has carrying capacity of 6.05 head goats for 1 hectare area. This is based on the need of the feed from cocoahusk of 1.5 kg/head/day.Keywords : cocoa waste, goat feed

Abstract

Probiotics is a feed additive in the form of life microorganisms that balance microorganism population in the digestive tract. This research was conducted to study the effect of addition of probiotics product into drinking water on performance. One hundred and fifty birds of day old chicks (DOC) of “Hybro-AM”strain were divided into 5 groups of treatments. The treatments were R0 (control diet+ drinking water without probiotics), R1 (R0 + Temban), R2 (R0 + Biolacta), R3 (R0 + Biovet), and R4 (commercial diet). Chicken were given diet and drinkingwater ad libitum. Feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion were measured weekly and income over feed and cost (IOFC). Local feed (control died) and control with probiotics are feed with self formulation (R0, and R1 – R3). Thecontrol feed ingredient used are corn, rice brand, fish meal, hull soybean mea, palm oil, grit,DCP and premix. Results showed that treatments did not give significant effect (P>0,05) on feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion. The result of Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC), shows that feed with control diet with probiotics Temban are best alternatif to pressure high price of feed and useable by farmer.

Abstract

Expense of feed represent the expense of biggest in conservancy of broiler (about 70 %). Breeder most still wear factory feed which is its raw material still import. Therefore, feed need local ingredient, so that price of feed earn cheaperly. This reseach done at Rancamaya, Bogor region to know effect of using local ingredient for broiler performance. Treatment in this reseach are using local feed (R0); local feed with probiotic Semai (R1); local feed with probiotic Fermacto (R2), local feed with probiotic Broiler-NL (R3) and factory feed (R4). Local feed and local feed with probiotic are feed with self formulation (R0, R1, R2 and R3). The local ingredient used are corn, rice brand, fish meal, hull soybean meal, grit, DCP, premix. Parameters measured were feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio and economic aspects. The result of reseach shows that feed with self formulation (local feed with probiotic Broiler-NL = R3) are best alternatif to pressure high price of feed and useable by farmer.Biaya pakan merupakan biaya terbesar dalam pemeliharaan ayam broiler (sekitar 70 %). Peternak sebagian besar masih memakai pakan pabrik yang bahan bakunya masih impor. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pakan berbahan baku lokal, sehingga harga pakan bisa lebih murah. Penelitian ini dilakukan didaerah Bogor untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bahan pakan lokal terhadap performan ayam broiler . Perlakuan dalam penelitian, adalah : penggunaan pakan lokal (R0); pakan lokal dengan probiotik Semai (R1); pakan lokal dengan probiotik Fermacto (R2), pakan lokal dengan probiotik Broiler - NL (R3) dan pakan pabrik (R4). Pakan lokal dan pakan lokal ditambah probiotik adalah pakan dengan formulasi sendiri (R0, R1, R2 and R3). Adapun bahan baku lokal yang digunakan adalah jagung, dedak padi, tepung ikan, bungkil kedelai, grit , DCP, premix. Parameter yang diukur adalah konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, rasio konversi ransum dan aspek ekonomi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pakan dengan formulasi sendiri (pakan lokal dengan probiotik Broiler-NL = R3) memberikan alternatif terbaik, sehingga dapat menekan tingginya harga pakan dan bisa digunakan oleh petani.Keywords: probiotic, local feed, performance, broiler.

Abstract

Currently chicken feed’s price continues to rise, therefore a lot of chicken farmers suffered since the cost spent for feed could reach up to 70% of the total business’ cost. Most farmers still depend on the manufactured feed in, which the ingredients are imported. Due to the increase of feed ingredients’ price in the international market (e.g. corn, soy, fish powder), the manufactured feed price also increase. To overcome the high price of manufactured feed, the local society should be equipped with the technology to produce local feed using local ingredients. The feed equipment will be made and adapted to the local conditions. The feed preparation technique is computerized using the feeding program "FeedStaR" which was made by BPPT in Indonesian language. By producing the feed independently, the result to be achieved, that is: feed at a low price, but still meet the nutritional requirements of the chickens. Gorontalo province is an area with potential overflowed corn, rice, coconut plantation and marine fisheries. However its breeding sector, especially chickens, is less able to develop due to the high price of manufactured feed. With the development and wide scale of agriculture, plantation and fisheries in Gorontalo, the chicken feed production is highly prospective to be developed.Saat ini harga pakan ayam terus meningkat, sehingga banyak peternak yang rugi, karena biaya pakan bisa mencapai 70% dari biaya usaha. Sebagian besar peternak, pakannya masih tergantung pada pakan pabrik dengan bahan baku yang masih impor. Dengan naiknya harga bahan baku pakan di pasaran Internasional (jagung, kedelai, tepung ikan), mengakibatkan harga pakan pabrik ikut naik. Untuk mengatasi mahalnya harga pakan buatan pabrik, maka masyarakat didaerah perlu dibekali teknologi pembuatan pakan lokal yang bahan bakunya berasal dari daerah setempat. Peralatan pakan dibuat dan disesuaikan dengan kondisi daerah tersebut. Teknik penyusunan pakan dilakukan secara komputerisasi dengan program pakan “FeedStaR” yang telah dibuat BPPT dalam bahasa Indonesia. Dengan pembuatan pakan sendiri, maka hasil yang ingin dicapai adalah : pakan dengan harga murah, namun tetap memenuhi syarat nutrisi ayam. Provinsi Gorontalo merupakan daerah dengan potensi tanaman jagung, padi, perkebunan kelapa dan hasil perikanan laut yang melimpah. Namun bidang peternakan, khususnya ayam kurang bisa berkembang, karena mahalnya harga pakan pakan (pabrik). Dengan semakin meningkat dan luasnya hasil pertanian, perkebunan dan perikanan di Gorontalo, maka pembuatan pakan sangat prospektif untuk dikembangkan.Keywords: Native chickens, local ingredients, feed, nutrient

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study digestibility of kumpai minyak (Hymenachne amplexicaulis) amoniation by in vitro techniques. Materials used in this study were : kumpai oil grass; poultry manure; urea; cattle rumen fluid; Mc buffer solution Dougall; NaOH or H3PO4 and saturated HgCl2. This research was held in two stage, the first was amoniation of kumpai minyak and second was in vitro analysis, both experiment was held at laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Animal, Agriculture Faculty at Sriwijaya University. The research used completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications which were: A0 (kumpai oil grass without urea), A1 (kumpai oil grass with urea 2%), A2 (kumpai oil grass with urea 4%) and A3 (kumpai oil grass with urea 6%). Parameters measuredwere dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility and gas production.. The result showed that the treatment were significantly difference (P<0.01) on organic matter digestibility, but non sinificantly differences (P>0.01) on dry matter digestibility and gas production.

Abstract

This research was conducted to study the effect of addition of probiotics product into drinking water on percentage of carcass,body fat and edible offal. One hundred and fifty birds of day old chicks (DOC) of “Hybro-AM” strain were divided into 5 groups of treatments. The treatments were R0 (control diet+ drinking water without probiotics), R1 (R0 + Temban), R2 (R0 + Biolacta), R3 (R0 + Biovet), and R4 (commercial diet). Chicken were given diet and drinking water ad libitum. Percentage of carcass, boy fat and edible offal (heart, gizzard, lever, andcaecum) measured when 35 day old broiler chicken. Local feed (control died) and control with probiotics are feed with self formulation (R0, and R1 – R3). Control diet based on the needs of broiler chickens by the National Research Council(NRC).Results showed that treatments did not give significant effect (P>0,05) percentage of carcass, body fat and edible offal. Giving probiotics biovet produce better carcass percentage compared with controls and other treatments.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to utilize the superiority of agricultural waste in form of soybean hull and shrimp wastes and their combination on egg layer duck. This feed contains starbio probiotic functions for fiber digestion (soybean hull waste) and chitin (from shrimp waste). The expectation was that there would be duck ration which is able to increase egg production and quality and brighter reddish egg-yolk which is attractive and full of nutritions. The research was conducted in three stages. Stage I is Nutrient Digestional Value Test on the formula of soybean hull and shrimp wastes mixture on Duck Feed Contained Starbio." Stage II : experiment on "Mixture Formulation of soybean hull and shrimp wastes mixture on Duck Feed Contained Starbio Probiotik for Increasing The Performance of Egg Layer Duck" and III experiment on "The Production of Reddish Duck Egg-Yolk With Feed Contained soybean hull and Shrimp Wastes Mixture". The experiment concluded that : I) the provision of soybean hull andshrimp had significant effects on digestability of feed dried materials, but conversely had no effects on protein digestability and crude fiber, as well as on egg produktion and quality.There was no interaction between two materials in the treatment. 2) Shrimp waste tended to have effects on daily egg production of egg layer duck; 3) Yellow color of the eggs couldn't change to be reddish yet, since xanthophyl content had already lost in over-dried and alreadyexpired shrimp wastes.Key Words : shrimp waste, soybean hull, probiotic, egg-yolk color
