Abstract

The Institute for Courses and Training is a non-formal education that provides various special training to educate students' skills. However, there are things that often become obstacles for prospective students, namely being confused about choosing courses according to their preferences. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design an online course application with a recommendation system for the Content-based Filtering method. In addition, this research also applies the cosine similarity algorithm to determine courses that are similar to the course history that has been accessed by the user. The dataset used to run the recommendation system algorithm was taken from the Kaggle website entitled “Udemy Course” with a total of 3,682 records. The final result of this research is an online course application that can provide course recommendations based on the highest similarity value from the cosine similarity algorithm.

Abstract

The use of mikrotik router in the process of forming a network system in a company both internally and externally is a common thing in the world of work, this is in line with the rapid development of technology today. In this study, researchers designed user permissions on ports using mikrotik routers as well as testing the security of port knocking methods and action tarpit firewalls. Port knocking method is a technique that temporarily closed port access. With the method of port knocking researchers can test the security of a port using a knocking port on the router mikrotik, so it can be known how safe port knocking method to protect certain ports. Port knocking used in mikrotik this router using winbox to see it, and also by using web service on winbox webfig already provided by party mikrotik router.

Abstract

Student academic performance is one of the important factors for student graduation. Therefore, many studies have been conducted in the field of education to identify factors that affect student performance. This research focuses on academic performance in online learning conditions by studying cases at XYZ university. Data were collected using Machine Learning techniques with the application of the Distributed Random Forest model, Naïve Bayes, Generalized Linear Model, and Gradient Boosting Machine algorithms. The results of this study indicate that the Distributed Random Forest and Gradient Boosting Machine models have an average accuracy of 99.83%. Researchers found variables that affect student learning performance, especially online learning, are final exam scores, midterm scores, attendance, assignment scores, amount of material given, number of assignments given, and number of clicks on material. From these findings, the researcher recommends that to improve the performance of the next learning, the implementation of learning should focus on improving the implementation of the Final Exams and the material on the learning platform

Abstract

Mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris telah menjadi salah satu bagian dari kurikulum yang telah ditetapkan. Khususnya untuk jenjang SMP dan SMA di Kota Batam, Bahasa Inggris sangat bermanfaat merupakan salah satu softskill yang dibutuhkan saat ini. Namun, permasalahan yang timbul adalah tidak semua pelajar dapat menggunakan Bahasa Inggris dengan baik dan lancar. Program yang ditawarkan untuk masalah tersebut adalah pembelajaran melalui online. Pelajar dapat belajar mandiri dengan materi – materi yang dapat diuanggah melalui Youtube. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah pelajar merespon dengan baik dengan adanya materi – materi yang di unggah di Youtube, sehingga mereka dapat meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Boarding houses, commonly known as "kost," are residential places typically rented by individuals, serving a function similar to hotels, but with more affordable pricing. With the proliferation of boarding house businesses, residents and newcomers in Batam city face challenges in selecting suitable accommodation based on both price and amenities. Leveraging machine learning, a branch of artificial intelligence (AI), and incorporating various algorithms, a system can be developed to predict the rental prices of boarding houses. This helps individuals make informed decisions regarding the suitability of a boarding house based on their preferences and budget. The algorithms utilized in this study are Linear Regression and Random Forest. The modeling process resulted in R2 Scores, with Linear Regression achieving a score of 64%, while Random Forest outperformed with an impressive 99% R2 Score. Due to the higher R2 Score of Random Forest, this model was selected for the development of a website using the Scrum framework. The outcome of this research is a predictive pricing website for boarding houses, offering a valuable tool for residents and visitors in Batam when seeking to rent or lease a boarding house.

Abstract

Sejak pandemi COVID-19 banyak orang menyadari banyak kegiatan yang kita lakukan sehari-hari dapat dilakukan melalui online meeting. Namun ketika kita melakukan online meeting sering terjadi masalah dimana suara pembicara tidak jelas karena gangguan luar seperti suara keyboard, suara orang lain dan beberapa faktor lainnya. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dapat digunakan AI noise suppression, yang dapat membantu menghilangkan suara mengganggu untuk memperjelas suara pembicara. Saat ini ada dua jenis AI noise suppression yaitu menggunakan hardware seperti RTX Voice yang menggunakan kemampuan AI pada kartu grafis dan software yang menggunakan model yang di latih pada aplikasi atau melalui cloud. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ada eksperimen. Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa dengan menggunakan AI noise suppression suara pembicara dapat menjadi jelas dengan menghapus suara lainnya yang dapat mengganggu kejelasan suara pembicara.
