Abstract

The gap between tourists´ expectation and perceived service has made some service failure on the Mount Batur trekking attraction. Based on that reason, research on the strategy to improve quality service is very interesting to conduct. Three research problems are proposed: (1) How is the quality standards of the Mount Batur trekking attraction?, (2) How is the tourists´ satisfaction against the service perceived?, (3) What strategy is built for service improvement?. This research is to find the quality standards built, to know the satisfaction level of the tourists, and the strategy built by service provider and other stakeholders to improve service quality. The combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches known as mixed-method is used to analyze the problems.            The result found that there are 30 indicators composing the quality standards. In general, based on ServQual analysis of 150 questionnaires shared, the perceived performance score was over than the expected service meaning that it produced customers´ satisfaction. Service failure was found specifically in 7 out of 30 indicators. Roles of all key actors related to the sustainability of the attraction and the physical environment of Mount Batur need to be improved. Some strategies were proposed including environmental strategy, cultural strategy, community involvement strategy, and integrated marketing communication strategy.  Key words: Strategy, Service quality, Mount Batur trekking attraction.

Abstract

Tourists guide, for common people,  is mainly  known as a person who escort tourists to tourist objects. Only a few people, specially those who works for travel industries, know that a tourist guide has several jobs to do, from picking up clients at the airport, transfering to different hotels, escorting back to the departure terminal, and also conducting meeting service that include solving problems and selling optional tours. Meeting service plays important role in increasing economic benefit both for the travel agent and also for the tourists guide as a representative. It also helps the customers in  achieving customers’ satisfaction through problem solving, hotel and resort presentation and tour organizaton. This article gives technical knowledge to improve skill as a representative of the company and suficient understanding of the job description as a tourists guide during the meeting service after the clients’ arrival.

Abstract

The development of cultural tourism has made any cultural products, profane and sacred, become comodity. The process of commotitisation is due to the need of many stakeholders in achieving the goal. The stakeholders playing important roles in the process of commoditisation according to the concept of “key actors” in tourism are government, local people, the tourists, media, industry, and the non-government organization. The commoditisation of traditional Hindu wedding in Ubud Tourism Resort (kawasan Wisata Ubud) is enabled by the meet of tourists motivation as the consummers and the other stakeholders as the supplier. The irrational motivation of the tourists to experience the autenticity with high buying power has made the tourism system in the hosts’ side fulfil the tourists expectation for the sake of material achievement. Government has made restriction in conducting the traditional wedding to the tourists that made the wedding organizer respect the local tradition and socialize the restriction through the promotion website they have. But commoditisation can not be avoided since the locals don’t mind to serve their tradition as a tourist product to purchase in the secular industry.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengembangan wisata edukasi pada daya tarik ekowisata Bukit Cemeng di Desa Adat Sidembunut, Kelurahan Cempaga, Kecamatan Bangli Kabupaten Bangli. Bukit cemeng merupakan hasil pemikiran masyarakat sekitar dalam mengembangkan area perbukitan yang dikemas secara gotong royong. Banyaknya jenis tanaman yang terdapat di Bukit Cemeng sering menjadi bahan diskusi serta pertanyaan baik anak-anak, remaja hingga orang dewasa mengenai nama serta manfaat dari setiap tanaman terlebih ekowisata selalu identik dengan keaslian maupun keasrian lokasi wisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan dalam mengenalkan manfaat berbagai macam tanaman kelapa untuk edukasi kepada wisatawan. Model edukasi kepada wisatawan nantinya berbentuk petunjuk pada setiap tanaman kelapa yang ditanam dengan beragam jenis. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh Prodi Industri Perjalanan dilaksanakan dengan metode kualitatif dan diskusi. Pengenalan jenis kelapa menjadi salah satu simbol sakral bagi masyarakat Bali pada khususnya sehingga diharapkan mampu menambah pengetahuan langsung bagi para wisatawan dari segala kalangan. Pada kegiatan tersebut, pengelola DTW mendapatkan pengetahuan baru tentang berbagai macam tanaman upakara untuk dapat dimanfaatkan serta menjadi bekal dalam mengedukasi wisatawan. Abstract

Ekowisata Bukit Cemeng menjadi salah satu daya tarik wisata baru yang terdampak adanya pandemi Covid-19. Pada masa pandemi yang berlangsung dua tahun, dampak yang terlihat nyata seperti mulai tidak terawatnya ekowisata, pengelolaan yang mulai tidak konsisten mulai tampak semenjak tahun 2021. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kepada masyarakat tentang pengembangan ekowisata Bukit Cemeng secara lebih lanjut yang perlu mendapat perhatian khusus dalam mempersiapkan dalam menghadapi kunjungan pasca pelonggaran masa pandemi Covid-19. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan metode wawancara, berkontribusi langsung ke lokasi untuk mendapatkan hasil yang diharapkan. Jumlah peserta pengabdian ini berjumlah 25 orang.. Pengabdian yang dilakukan pada ekowisata Bukit Cemeng diharapkan mampu membantu dalam memotivasi pengelola menyambut kunjungan wisatawan domestik serta membuat prosedur terbaru dalam bentuk panduan yang mampu bermanfaat bagi ekowisata Bukit Cemeng.
