Abstract

Background: Patient safety is an important issue for the health care system in Indonesia. Patient safety management is an attempt to save all medical personnel by reducing and minimizing medical injuries that may occur to patients. One of these efforts is the implementation of a patient safety climate. Patients safety climate is a perception of group members about procedures, practices, and types of behavior towards patient safety. A high patient safety climate it will increase the implementation of patient safety goals which will affect a patient safety incident. Methods: Using an observational analytical research method with a cross sectional research design by distributing questionnaires to 70 young dentists at the integration clinic of RSIGM Sultan Agung Semarang. The questionnaire used in this study was the safety attitude questionnaire and the patient safety target implementation questionnaire which have been tested validity and reliability test. The research data were processed using the Spearman test.Results: there is a significant relationship between the patients safety climate and the implementation of patient safety goals p<0.05, the better the patients safety climate is the more the implementation of patient safety goals will decrease which will reduce a patient safety incident. Conclusion: It can be concluded there is a relationship between the patient safety climate and the implementation of patient’s safety goals with data p-value of 0.001, the correlation coefficient is 0.402 that the close relationship between the two variables is categorized as moderate with a positive correlation direction.

Abstract

Background: Health care facilities are complex organizations and must have development strategies to improve the quality of services. Service quality management must be integrated with elements of risk management and patient safety. Patient safety culture reflects a perception, norms and behavior related to the culture of preventing medical errors when serving patients. Patient safety culture is a product that results from individual or group values, attitudes, perceptions, competences and behavior patterns. Sultan Agung Islamic Dental Hospital has been operating since 2019 and has been accredited in 2020. This study aims to analyze the culture of patient safety at the Sultan Agung Islamic Dental Hospital Semarang.Method: This research method used descriptive observational study. Data collected by distributing questionnaires (onsite crosssectional survey) with Hospital Survey of Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC) adopted from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) 2.0 version to all health workers at the Sultan Agung Islamic Dental Hospital Semarang.Result: The level of reliability of each dimensions of patient safety culture were teamwork 89.3%, staff and work speed 73%, organizational learning for continuous improvement 82.3%, response when an error occurs 69%, supervisor supports patient safety 86%, Communication about the occurrence of errors 96.3%, communication openness 85.5%, the number of error reports 39%, Hospital management supports patient safety 75.7, Change of tasks and transition 85%.Conclusion: The lowest level of reliability of patient safety culture was the dimension of the number of error reports.

Abstract

Drug procurement is part of an important hospital management to support the availability of the pharmaceutical logistic in hospital to provide good services for the patients. ineffective procurement can result in not achieving the availability of each drug in the amount which are in accordance with the price and budgeting. This research was conducted to obtain an overview of drug management at the procurement stage in Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital (RSIA SA) for the 2017 – 2018 period. Descriptive Observational research methods were used to collect the qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through interview, and the quantitative data were collected from the document observation provided in Pharmaceutical installation Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital (IFRSISA). The result showed the percentage of the allocation of drug procurement funds in 2017 was 47,6%, and in 2018 it was 37,1%, the frequency of procurement of each drug type was < 76% at 12 times / year, the frequency of delayed payment by the hospital based on the time agreed was 100%. The conclusion of this study shows that the indicator of drug procurement in IFRSISA categorized as good because it is in line with the quality of drug procurement indicators.
