Abstract

emotional intelligence of the elementary school students in Medan city. This study utilized two exogenous variables which were parenting and teachers’ competence and two endogenous variables as well which were the teaching and learning quality and emotional intelligence. There were 511 students and 68 teachers coming from 11 schools schools as the samples of the study. The results suggested that the students’ emotional intelligence was 82% affected by the parenting and 34% was influenced by the teaching and learning. The teachers’ competence gave 12% contribution to the teaching and learning which implied that the teaching and learning quality was dominantly affected by factors other than the 4 teachers’ competences.Keywords: construct model, emotional intelligent, elementary school studentsAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan gambaran model konstruk kecerdasan emosional siswa SD Kota Medan. Pada penelitian ini melibatkan dua ubahan eksogen, yaitu: pola asuh dan kompetensi guru, serta dua ubahan endogen, yaitu: kualitas pembelajaran dan kecerdasan emosional. Sampel 11 sekolah, dengan jumlah 511 siswa; dan 68 guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional siswa SD 82% dipengaruhi oleh pola asuh orang tua; dan 34% oleh kualitas pembelajaran. Kompetensi yang dimiliki guru memberi sumbangan sebesar 12% terhadap kualitas pembelajaran, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pembelajaran dominan dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar 4 kompetensi guru.Kata Kunci: Model Konstruk, Kecerdasan Emosional, Siswa SD.

Abstract

This study was aimed at revealing: (1)  the effect of the work experience (working period and training period)  on employability skills mastery level (technological skills, fundamental skills, personal management skills, and work skills); and (2)  the effect of working period, employability skills mastery level, employability skills used, andfrequency of employability skills used on earnings. The subjects of the study  were ITHVS  graduate  workforces  of Bandar  Lampung Municipality. The datafor study were collected through questionnaires (selfreports). The statistical analysis techniques used were canonical correlation and multiple regression. The results of the study show that: (1) The canonical  independent  variable  (the working period  and training period)  has a positive  impact on technological skills (with canonical loading 0.98), on fundamental  skills (0.06), on personal management skills (0.57), on team work skills (0.12); and (2)  the earning received by the ITVHS' graduate workers is only affected by their workingperiod (earnings = 698,185 + 23,383 workingperiod)

Abstract

Penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran dapat mempermudah siswa dalam memahami sesuatu yang abstrak menjadi lebih konkret. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan : 1) Validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas media pembelajaran matematika berbasis macromedia flash yang dikembangkan; 2) Peningkatan kemampuan spasial siswa dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis macromedia flash yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui dua tahap, yaitu tahap pengembangan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis macromedia flash dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D, dan tahap mengujicobakan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis macromedia flash yang dikembangkan di kelas XII MIA SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kuis. Dari hasil uji coba I dan uji coba II diperoleh: 1) Validitas media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan valid, kepraktisan media pembelajaran telah memenuhi kriteria praktis ditinjau dari : a) Kevalidan media pembelajaran menurut para ahli; b) Angket uji kepraktisan media pembelajaran matematika yang dikembangkan tergolong dalam kategori praktis dengan skor minimal 76% dan keefektifan media pembelajaran telah memenuhi kriteria efektif ditinjau dari : a) Ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal; b) Penggunaan waktu yang ideal. 2) Terjadi peningkatan kemampuan spasial siswa pada uji coba I dan uji coba II.Kata Kunci: Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Matematika, Macromedia Flash, Kemampuan Spasial

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to investigate: (1) The diffrences of improving students’ mathematical communication ability in contextual learning and cooperative learning type STAD at SMP Al-Washliyah 8 Medan, (2) The diffrences of improving students’ mathematical connection ability in contextual learning and cooperative learning type STAD at SMP Al-Washliyah 8 Medan This study is an experimental research there were six classes of Grade VII, the samples were taken two classes randomly. The first class was treated by using contextual learning  and the second class was treated by using cooperative learning type STAD. The instruments which were used; Mathematical Communication ability test, and Mathematical Connection ability test. The instruments were eligible content validity and reliability about 0,81 and 0,82 to mathematical commmunication and connection ability. The Data analyzed by appling multivariate analysis (MANOVA). The results reveal that this study, generally the students were treated by contextual learning are better than the students were treated by cooperative  learning type STAD. Based on the study, the reseacher suggested (1) Contextual learning in teaching mathemaics for improving students’mathematical  communication and connection ability would become an alternative for applying innovative mathematical learning. (2)  Students’activity through contextual learning categorized as either. This study is also expected to be useful for mathematics teacher to created good atmosphere and give a chance to the sudents for presenting their idea by themselves.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the development of contextual-based thematic teaching materials to improve student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were 60 students of grade V-A and V-B Public Elementary School. The object of this research is contextual-based thematic teaching materials for fifth grade students of Public Elementary School Percontohan Kabanjahe. The teaching materials developed are student books. This research is a Research & Development (R&D) research with activities at each development stage. The results of this study are (1) the validity of teaching materials is in the valid category. The average value of the validity of students 'books was 4.16, the average language validity was 4.21, the validity of the feasibility of presenting students' books was 4.13 and the student learning outcomes test instrument was valid. (2) The practicality of teaching materials has met the criteria, namely the positive response of students reaches 85%. (3) The effectiveness of teaching materials has been effective in terms of classical student learning completeness, namely at least 85% of students who take part in learning are able to achieve a score of ≥ 75, where learning completeness Classical students reach 92%; (2) the increase in the average result of student learning outcomes increased by 0.5 in the medium category.

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini, menyelesaikan permasalahan yang tengah dihadapi oleh 2 mitra kelompok petani emping. Adapun 3 aspek permasalahan utama yakni aspek produksi, aspek pemasaran dan aspek keuangan. Target dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini menghasilkan penyelesaian masalah aspek produksi berupa; 1) Alat mesin press emping manual, dan 2) Alat mesin vacum sealer; aspek pemasaran berupa, 1) Merek dagang penjualan emping, 2). kemasan. dan aspek keuangan berupa 1) Pencatatan keuangan usaha sederhana. Lokasi kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan di Desa Baru Pasar VIII Kecamatan Hinai Kabupaten Langkat. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini ceramah, praktik dan pendampingan. Pelatihan dan penyuluhan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan di aula desa, pada kegiatan ini telah diserahkan 4 unit alat press emping manual, 2 unit mesin kemasan vacum sealer, merek dagang emping “Pelita Jaya” dan dan buku besar pencatatan keuangan sederhana. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini, para kelompok usaha emping mampu meningkatkan kualitas produk dan pemasaran emping yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Lokasi kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan di Desa Sei Kepayang Tengah Kecamatan Sei Kepayang Kabupaten Asahan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini ceramah, praktik dan pendampingan. Pelatihan dan penyuluhan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan di rumah mitra, pada kegiatan ini telah diserahkan 2 unit alat smart burning drum, 2 unit mesin kemasan sealer, dan merek dagang “Arang Kepayang”. Hasil kegiatan ini mampu meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas produksi arang bagi kedua mitra.
