Abstract

Photovoltaic thermal (PVT) collectors convert solar radiation directly to both electrical and thermal energies. A PVT collector basiccaly combines the functions of a flat plate solar collector and those of a PV panel. This review presents thermodinamics fundamentals, descriptions, and previous works conducted on energy and exergy analysis of air based PVT collector. Studies in 2010 to 2018 of the energy and exergy analysis of air based PVT collectors are summarized. The energy and exergy efficiency of air based PVT collector ranges from 31% to 94% and 8.7% to 18%, respectively. In addition, flat plate solar collector is presented. Studies conducted on air based PVT collectors are reviewed.

Abstract

Growing concern with regard to energy sources and their usage has consequently increased significance of photovoltaic thermal (PV/T) collectors. A PV/T air collector is a system which has a conventional PV system combined with a thermal collector system. The system is able to produce electrical energy directly converted from sunlight by using photoelectric effect. Meanwhile, it also extracts heat from the PV and warms the fluid (air flow) inside the collector. In this review, solar PV system and solar thermal collectors are presented. In addition, studies conducted on solar PV/T air collectors are reviewed. The development of PV/T air collectors is a very promising area of research. PV/T air collectors using in solar drying and solar air heater.

Abstract

The most important benefit of solar energy is renewable and low pollutant source of energy (clean energy). Solar energy technology and research are developing fast and much of the technology needed for these applications in industry and agricultures is already available. Solar drying technology (SDT) is one of the most attractive and promising applications of solar energy technology. In this paper, the various performances of SDTs in Indonesia are summarized with details. Generally, the cabinet-type and tunnel-type SDTs are remarkably well suited to drying small quantities of vegetables and fruit on the household scale. Greenhouse and hybrid SDTs are suitable for use on a large scale by industries.

Abstract

The popular solar technology is the integration of solar thermal technology and photovoltaic (PV), called photovoltaic thermal (PVT) technology. This technology converts solar energy to electrical and thermal energy. The efficiency of solar energy conversion via PVT is higher than photovoltaic and solar systems. PV cell efficiency decreases if system operating temperature is higher. Therefore, solar systems attached to PV cells act to cool PV cells and increase the overall efficiency of the PVT system. PVT construction that saves space, is suitable for domestic consumption, and long-term saving costs makes PVT current research by researchers in the latest energy technology. This review presents descriptions and previous works conducted on performances analysis of PVT water collector. Results on the performances of PVT water collectors are summarized. The energy and exergy efficiency of PVT water collector ranges from 28.5% to 85% and 6.8% to 14%, respectively.

Abstract

Polygamy remains one of the interesting key topics in various society, especially Indonesia. Polygamy is the act of marrying multiple spouses that means having more one wife at the same time, is common case in worldwide. In this problem, the most of Muslim in Indonesia adopt Islamic law that let men to do the polygamy with certain requirements. In worldwide communities, this has been a prominent feature and has become the subject of numerous books, heated debates, journal articles, discussion papers, and so on. Furthermore, in Indonesia the polygamous marriage has recently become a heated topic. Despite controversy, Indonesia’s law, of recent, allows people for doing polygamy in certain conditions. Because the polygamy is often debated, this study focuses on assessment of Indonesian’s perceptions through sentiment analysis and would determine people’s perception about polygamy issue from 500 tweets on Twitter. To conclude, it elucidates that the polygamy in Indonesia is a normal thing and few assume the case is as negative thing.

Abstract

ALLAH menyebutkan hujan dalam Al-Qur’an sebanyak 55 kali, hal ini tentu saja dapat disimpulkan bahwa hujan adalah bagian terpenting yang diciptakan oleh ALLAH sebagai rahmat bagi alam beserta isinya. Khazanah hujan ini telah jelas diungkapkan dalam Al-Qur’an dan Hadist. Khazanah ini akan diperjelas dengan mengurai beberapa informasi hujan yang telah diberitakan dalam Firman ALLAH dan Hadist Nabi Muhammad SAW dari sudut pandang ilmu sains. Ukuran hujan yang dikabarkan dalam surat Mu’minun ayat 18 dan Surat Nur 43 serta perbedaan hujan setiap tahun yang diberitakan dalam hadist akan diuraikan melalui ilmu sains (statistika). Ukuran hujan yang didefinisikan dengan tepat yang dilandasi oleh Firman ALLAH tersebut dapat memberikan manfaat yang sangat baik bagi mengungkap khazanah hujan melalui model-model ilmu statistik terutama dalam menghasilkan perkiraan ukuran-ukuran hujan tersebut untuk masa yang akan datang. Melalui berita pentingnya mengungkapkan sifat dan pola hujan tiap tahun seperti yang disampaikan oleh Nabi Muhammad SAW, telah dapat disimpulkan bahwa ilmu sains telah berhasil mengungkapkan perbedaan sifat hujan setiap tahun tersebut.

Abstract

Peningkatan kualitas pendidikan sangat penting dilakukan oleh suatu Perguruan Tinggi (PT), supaya mempunyai lulusan yang berkualitas. Peningkatan kualitas dari pelayanan tenaga kependidikan (Pegawai) merupakan salah satu upaya yang efektif dan efisien dalam meningkatkan kualitas PT. Mengingat pentingnya mengetahui kinerja Pegawai supaya kualitas PT meningkat, maka perlu dilaksanakan penilaian terhadap kinerja Pegawai yang dinilai oleh atasan, diri sendiri, dan rekan sejawat. Penelitian ini mencoba memberikan satu bentuk kajian tentang hasil penilaian kinerja Pegawai UIN Suska Riau secara visualisasi dengan tampilannya berbentuk wajah kartun. Serta menentukan interpretasi dari output wajah yang dihasilkan berdasarkan indikator indeks kinerja Pegawai secara perorangan dan keseluruhan yang digambarkan dengan metode Chernoff face. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data indikator prestasi kerja, ketaatan, kerjasama, tanggung jawab, kepemimpinan, dan kepribadian Tahun 2017. Pegawai dalam hal ini adalah Pegawai PNS UIN Suska Riau yang diambil sampel secara acak yaitu 103 orang. Hasil penilaian kinerja Pegawai UIN Suska Riau secara keseluruhan untuk masing-masing penilai yaitu atasan, diri sendiri, dan rekan sejawat adalah termasuk kategori baik. Sedangkan untuk penilaian kinerja Pegawai secara keseluruhan dapat dikategorikan ke dalam kelompok baik

Abstract

Angin merupakan sumber energy yang tak-terhingga. Menjawab tantangan krisis energy dampak lingkungan yang diakibatkan oleh angin saat ini, maka perlu adanya upaya memodelkan kecepatan angin dalam mengeksplor potensi tersebut. Makalah ini membahas tentang dua distribusi yaitu Weibull dan Rayleigh dalam menentukan model distribusi yang sesuai untuk data kecepatan angin di Pekanbaru. Estimasi parameter yang digunakan adalah metode maksimum likelihood dan menggunakan uji kebaikan (Goodness of Fit) AIC (Akaike’s Information Criterion). Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa, model distribusi Weibull lebih sesuai digunakan untuk data kecepatan angin di Pekanbaru, karena nilai AIC yang diperoleh lebih kecil dibandingkan nilai AIC dari distribusi Rayleigh
