Abstract

Students are studying subjects that are required to play an active role in learning activities. The way that can be done to enable such students through the implementation of cooperative learning model, one of which is TPS. TPS application of cooperative learning in the learning of chemistry can stimulate students to express opinions or ideas, mutual cooperation, respect the opinions of others, helping to solve problems and develop students' creativity. Active student involvement in learning will lead to learning motivation that will have an impact on the improvement of learning outcomes

Abstract

Learning is an activity involving teachers and students. The success of teaching and learning process are influenced by student learning motivation. The existence of student learning motivation will give spirit and learning becomes more focused for students. Building intrinsic motivation in students will be better than extrinsic motivation. By students' intrinsic motivation to learn because of the sincerity of their hearts, the positive results of learning efforts that will shown. However, extrinsic motivation also determines the interest of students in learning. When students have a desire to learn but the extrinsic factors do not support, the student will lose his spirits. Both intrinsic and extrinsic factors can determine the success of students in the learning process. Motivation is an energy change within the person characterized by effective arausal and antisipatory goal reaction. Motivation will push, move and direct students to learn. Students who have a high learning motivation will do activities in acquiring knowledge. Motivation will arouse the interest of students to learn. Motivation has the function of which is to (1) encourage students to move in order to get maximum results, and (2) as referring to carry out activities in achieving the objectives specific objectives. Motivation has traits include: resilient in the face of adversity, diligently not easily bored and others. The existence of the learning motivation greatly affected the success of the learning process. Students can reach a good study achievements on him when there is motivation to learn. Therefore the motivation has a very important position in learning.

Abstract

Learning motivation was something that exists in an individual mind for doing something to achieve the goal. Motivation was needed to improve the cognitive abilities of each individual. In reality, there are still students at the Chemical Education Study Program who were less motivated to learn. This was characterized by active, discipline, task completion, the willingness of student to ask questions and solve problems in learning is still lacking. The aim of this study was to determine the level of motivation, influencing factors and efforts to increase student motivation in chemistry learning. The results showed that student's motivation in improving cognitive abilities on average was still low. The efforts were made by lecturers are to instil the values that can motivate the learning process, apply the better strategies and quality of teaching, approach individually or groups to improve the lecturer skills and apply the contextual based learning.

Abstract

In teaching learning process, teachers have to use some media of instruction. They have to be able to select appropriate media with the concept that they want to teach. In biology, especially the concept of biodiversity, the teacher should explain and introduce the students to various plants available around them including herb plants. It will be one of solution for a teacher to achieve an optimum goal if they can use the diverse plant around them. The successful of learning especially in the field of biology can be seen from cognitive, affective and psychomotoric aspects which is hoped to be achieved if the teachers as educators can guide their students to know about the plants in the field.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Animasi pada Materi Larutan Elektrolit dan Nonelektrolit terhadap Kemampuan Berfikir Kritis Siswa Kelas X di SMAN 1 Unggul Seulimeum Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kemampuan berfikir kritis dan aktivitas belajar siswa setelah menerapkan pembelajaran menggunakan media animasi. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen dengan desain kelompok tunggal pretest dan posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Unggul Seulimeum, sedangkan sampel penelitian diambil siswa kelas X-2 berjumlah 20 orang secara purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis yang terdiri dari pretest, posttest, LKS, dan lembar observasi kegiatan siswa. Data observasi dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik persentase sedangkan hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji-t menggunakan program SPSS20. Persentase aktivitas belajar siswa mencapai rata-rata 85% yang termasuk pada kategori baik sekali dan hasil kemampuan berpikir kritis dari hasil uji-t diperoleh Nilai sig sebesar 0,000 0.05. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa  H0 ditolak dan terjadi penerimaan H1, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media animasi pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis dan aktivitas belajar siswa kelas X di SMAN 1 Unggul Seulimeum Aceh Besar.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sains tidak hanya terpaku pada materi ilmiah yang ada pada buku sebagai sumber belajar. Budaya dan kearifan lokal yang ada di daerah dapat digunakan sebagai objek dan media pembelajaran. Keragaman budaya dan sumber daya alam merupakan kekayaan alam Indonesia yang dapat digunakan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sains. Dalam bidang pendidikan kearifan lokal dapat membantu peserta didik dalam memahami materi yang bersifat ilmiah. Guru dapat memanfaatkan kekayaan budaya daerah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik dan sekaligus memperkenalkan budaya dan kearifan lokal yang ada.
