Abstract

Abstract: This study describes the transitivity system in narrative texts in Junior High School textbooks also explores how the understanding of process types in narratives informs pedagogical practices. The study was designed by employing qualitative descriptive method. The findings show that the most frequent process is material process, followed by relational process, mental process, verbal process, and existential process. The behavioral process is absent from all of the analyzed texts. The findings show that the texts are categorized into simple narratives. Thus, it can be concluded that the texts in the textbooks correspond to the stages of students’ intellectual development. However, grammatical errors are also found in the texts. It means that transitivity analysis does not only cover the experiential meaning of texts, more broadly than that, it can also analyze clauses grammatically and lexically in detail up to errors in the use of function words with evidence of asynchronous meaning in the transitivity system. Furthermore, the pedagogical implications of transitivity analysis are as follows: 1) leads students to acknowledge the author's purpose, 2) provides teachers with many ideas for experiential probe questions that students can use when exploring clauses in a text, and 3) sharpening students’ critical thinking. Keyword: junior high school textbooks, transitivity system, narrative texts. Abstrak: Penelitian ini menganalisis sistem transitivitas dalam teks naratif pada buku teks Sekolah Menengah Pertama serta mengeksplorasi bagaimana pemahaman tentang jenis berimplikasi pada praktik pedagogis. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses yang paling sering terjadi adalah proses material, diikuti proses relasional, proses mental, proses verbal, dan proses eksistensial. Proses perilaku absen dari semua teks yang dianalisis. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa teks-teks tersebut dikategorikan kedalam jenis teks naratif sederhana. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teks-teks naratif dalam buku teks telah sesuai dengan tahapan perkembangan intelektual siswa. Namun, kesalahan tata bahasa juga ditemukan dalam teks-teks tersebut. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa analisis transitivitas tidak hanya dapat menunjukkan makna eksperiensial dalam teks, lebih luas dari itu, klausa yang tata bahasa dan maknanya asinkron juga dapat diketahui. Selanjutnya, implikasi pedagogis dari analisis transitivitas adalah sebagai berikut: 1) mengarahkan siswa untuk mengetahui tujuan penulis, 2) menyediakan ide bagi guru dalam membuat pertanyaan penyelidikan yang dapat digunakan siswa ketika menganalisis klausa dalam suatu teks, dan 3) meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa. Kata kunci: Buku teks Sekolah Menengah Pertama, sistem transitivitas, teks naratif

Abstract

This community service program is motivated by the low level of literacy skills of the Indonesian people. This fact proves that the literacy value of Indonesian people reading is still very low. According to TBM West Java data in 2017, the Tasikmalaya region in the districts and cities has more than ten scattered community reading parks, but most have not been maximally utilized by the surrounding community, especially for the availability of English books. Seeing the above phenomenon, it is necessary to have a solution in the community. This community service program offers a language literacy program using the Extensive Reading method as an effort to foster community literacy. The main reason for this literacy program is that literacy is the right of everyone and is the basis for learning throughout time. This program combines foreign language learning with community literacy programs. This activity involved TBM managers and children as participants in the activity. The Extensive Reading method is used in community service programs to foster community literacy. The results of these community service activities include a literacy program that introduces extensive reading methods in improving integrated and effective English language skills to help equalize education through integrated reading services in Nagarasari, Tasikmalaya city

Abstract

The aim of this study are to find out teachers’ perception toward Lesson Writer in developing English teaching Materials and to investigate teachers’ difficulties in using Lesson Writer to develop English teaching material. The sample of the study consisted of three English teachers. In this study the teachers focused on developing English teaching materials for the tenth grade of TKJ or Computer and Networking Program. The data collection used in this research was questionnaire and interview. The results of this study are the teachers have positive perception toward the implementation of Lesson Writer in developing English teaching materials, however in using Lesson Writer the teachers faced difficulties such as readiness of technology, limited teaching resources to be uploaded in Lesson Writer, and error server in log in Lesson Writer.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) describe the language attitudes of undergraduate students of English Education Department of Surakarta Muhamamadiyah University toward English language in terms of their behavioural, cognitive, and affective aspects; and (2) investigate the differences in language attitudes of undergraduate students towards English across gender and length of study at English education department of Surakarta Muhammadiyah University. This research employed a mixed method research design to collect, analyse and to mix both quantitative and qualitative data in a single study. Researcher used theory in a quantitative study to provide an explanation about the relationship among variables in the study. Thus, it is essential to have grounding in the qualitative study. The results of the study are as follows. The undergraduate students have different language attitudes, in terms of cognitive, behavioural, and affective aspects of language attitudes towards English. There is a statistic difference in the undergraduate students’ language attitudes towards English across gender. The attitudes of male undergraduate students towards English are higher than that of female ones indicating more positive attitudes towards English. It means that there is a rejection of the null hypothesis, because there is a significant difference between male and female undergraduate students’ attitudes towards English. There is a difference among the three groups in terms of length of English study. The freshman group showed slightly higher language attitudes compared with those of the other two groups.

Abstract

The low literacy of the Indonesian people is a situation which is inversely proportional to the age of the Indonesian people who have developed that should have the same literacy levels as other developing countries, but Indonesia is still far behind as a survey conducted by UNESCO in 2016. This situation can occur due to internal and external factors. One of external factors is the lack of public services related to education, both formal and informal. It also happened in Nagarasari Village in the City of Tasikmalaya, West Java. In the city of Tasikmalaya, there found a community reading park (TBM), but it has not been yet productive in providing literacy programs to the surrounding community. Even though the existence of community reading parks in the community is a part of education. Knowing this phenomenon, it is necessary to have an effective solution to develop and advance the welfare of society. This community service activity is carried out using real action activities methods, namely web-based literacy programs by collaborating between teaching, training, community development, and web-based literacy programs in the community. It is hoped that this activity can foster a culture of community literacy, hence this can be a useful solution in the community to encourage improvements in quality of life, creativity, independence, and competitiveness in the future

Abstract

Abstract Based on data from the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN), waste generation reached 17,751,496.81 (tons/year), 9,475,301.63 (tons/year) handling, managed waste 12,658,861, 23 (tons/year), while the unmanaged waste is 5,092,635.58 (tons/year). (https://sipsn.menlhk.go.id/). Garbage is a problem that is quite disturbing for the community. Building the character of a community that cares about the environment is not an easy thing. Many people have the desire to become entrepreneurs (entrepreneurs). However, not many people have the desire to become entrepreneurs who shape social character in their implementation, such as being a (socialpreneur). Not only looking for profit, but also taking care of the environment through pioneering businesses, having a sales value, innovating, to create a prosperous society and love the environment. The purpose of this service is to increase the added value of recycled paper in the mucizepapier creative business. The outputs achieved in this service are the creation of calendar products, A6 notebooks, wedding invitations, and souvenirs from recycled paper. Abstrak Berdasarkan data dari Sistem Informasi Pengelolaan Sampah Nasional (SIPSN), timbulan sampah mencapai 17.751.496,81 (ton/tahun), penanganan yang telah dilakukan sebanyak 9.475.301,63 (ton/tahun), sampah yang terkelola sebanyak 12.658.861,23 (ton/tahun), sedangkan sampah yang tidak terkelola 5.092.635,58 (ton/tahun). (https://sipsn.menlhk.go.id/). Sampah menjadi permasalahan yang cukup meresahkan bagi masyarakat. Membentuk karakter masyarakat yang peduli akan lingkungan bukanlah hal yang mudah. Banyak masyarakat yang memiliki keinginan menjadi wirausahawan (entrepreneur). Namun tidak banyak masyarakat yang memiliki keinginan untuk menjadi wirausaha yang membentuk karakter sosial dalam pelaksanaannya, seperti halnya menjadi (socialpreneur). Tidak hanya mencari keuntungan, namun melakukan pemeliharaan lingkungan melalui usaha yang dirintis, memiliki nial jual, berinovasi, untuk mewujudkan masyarakat yang sejahtera dan cinta lingkungan. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah pada kertas daur ulang pada usaha kreatif mucizepapier. Luaran yang dicapai pada pengabdian ini adalah terciptanya produk kalender, buku catatan A6, undangan pernikahan, dan cindera mata dari hasil kertas daur ulang.

Abstract

Abstract This paper sheds on the implementation of community engagement in Sukadana village, Ciamis regency, West Java. The background of this society engagement was from the low literacy in Indonesia. This phenomenon of low competence is not only caused by individual internal factors, such as the absence of a progressive literacy program carried out by the village government aimed at policy instruments. In addition, the cultural factor of the community that considers literacy not a necessity is also an internal factor in the village why the people there have less literacy. Seeing the phenomenon, the implementation of community based education in rural area is necessary to have a solution in the community. The development of community-based education is hoped to be a solution to the literacy problems faced. This model of community-based education or community-based education is hoped to be able to answer the challenges of rural communities to improve rural community literacy through the rural literacy movement. The implementation of the activities is expected to improve the quality of life and competitiveness in the future. Abstrak Artikel ini membahas tentang implementasi pelibatan masyarakat di Desa Sukadana, Kabupaten Ciamis, Jawa Barat. Pelibatan masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya literasi di Indonesia. Fenomena rendahnya kompetensi ini tidak hanya disebabkan oleh faktor internal individu, seperti belum adanya program literasi progresif yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah desa yang ditujukan pada instrumen kebijakan. Selain itu, faktor budaya masyarakat yang menganggap literasi bukan suatu keharusan juga menjadi faktor internal di desa mengapa masyarakat di sana kurang literasi. Melihat fenomena tersebut, maka penyelenggaraan pendidikan berbasis masyarakat di pedesaan perlu ada solusi di tengah masyarakat. Pengembangan pendidikan berbasis masyarakat diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi atas permasalahan literasi yang dihadapi. Model pendidikan berbasis masyarakat atau community-based education ini diharapkan mampu menjawab tantangan masyarakat pedesaan untuk meningkatkan literasi masyarakat pedesaan melalui gerakan literasi pedesaan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan daya saing di masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan teknologi tepat tuna perhitungan harga pokok produksi dalam menentukan harga jual produk daur ulang dengan  bahan baku kertas yang telah di daur ulang dengan menggunakan metode full costing dan job order costing. Selain itu, pemberian edukasi pada generasi Z milenial mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis untuk lebih mencintai lingkungan dengan berkreasi secara ramah lingkungan, sehingga menciptakan karakter yang cageur, bageur, pinter, bener, tur singer dengan penerapan akuntansi biaya dan akuntansi lingkungan.  Metode pelaksanaan pada pengabdian ini adalah mengklasifikasikan BBB, BTKL, dan BOP pada hasil pembuatan kertas daur ulang dan hasil produk kertas daur ulang untuk menentukan HPP. Tahapan selanjutnya adalah menentukan harga jual dengan margin yang diinginkan oleh mitra pengabdian serta membandingkannya dengan harga pasar.
