Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between oceanographic factors and the catch of tuna (Euthynnus affinis) and to determine the potential fishing zone (ZPPI) in the waters of the Gulf of Bone. The data collection method is carried out by literature study and field observation study by taking coordinate points and measuring oceanographic parameters. The types of data collected were temperature, salinity, currents, and tuna catches. Data were analyzed using GIS software with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and ANOVA test. This research was conducted in Bone Bay Waters in October-November 2018. The results showed that the highest catch based on sea surface temperature was in the range of 32°C with a total yield of 1207.5 kg, the highest net based on salinity was in the field of 34‰, namely as much as 836.5 kg, and the highest catch is based on a current speed of 0.04 m/sec, which is as much as 334.5 kg. Based on the ANOVA table, the significance value of the effect of temperature (X1), salinity (X2), and current (X3) simultaneously on the tuna catch (Y) is 0.0425<0.05 and the Fcrit>Ftabel (5.960>4,75) which means that there is a significant effect of oceanographic parameters on the tuna catch. Overlay analysis of oceanographic parameters shows potential areas for Euthynnus affinis is located most of the waters of Sinjai to the south of the Sembilan Island to the outside of Bone Bay.

Abstract

Siganus sp is one of the leading commodities that have high economic value. Until now, the market demand for Siganus sp continues to increase so that the prospect of its cultivation is very promising. The problem that arises specifically for fishermen in the coastal sub-district of Maros Regency is that there is no data and knowledge about suitable locations for the cultivation of Siganus sp. This study aims to determine the area that is suitable for cultivation of Siganus sp in the coastal district of Maros Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out by literature studies and direct field observations by taking coordinates and measuring oceanographic parameters (temperature, salinity, pH, brightness, dissolved oxygen, depth, current velocity). Water quality data were analyzed by weighting, overlaying and layout using GIS analysis. This research was conducted in the waters of the coastal sub-district of Maros Regency in January-August 2021. The results showed that the location of the suitability of Siganus sp aquaculture waters in the coastal sub-district of Maros Regency obtained suitable waters (S) for the development of Siganus sp cultivation covering an area of 630.36 ha and waters that are not suitable (N) for the development of cultivation Siganus sp covering an area of 681.2 ha.

Abstract

Fishery is one of the human activities to utilize aquatic resources in fresh, brackish and marine waters. This effort is made to meet the needs of human life for the availability of animal protein for growth and as a source of meeting other economic needs. Fishery business consists of components that are interrelated with one another, namely capture fisheries and aquaculture and supported by marketing and processing of fishery products. One of the fishing gear used by fishermen around the coast is a hand line. The purpose of this study was to find out which light are effective in the operation of hand line fishing gear in Takalar waters. The data collection technique was done by using the trial method (Expermental fishing), by conduction trials using two different lamps, namely LED lights (light emitting diode) and petromax lamps. This research was conducted in Takalar Waters in July-August 2020. The results showed that the size structure of the squid and cuttlefish caught on the LED lights ranged from 6- 27.5 cm, totaling 310 tail, weighing 41.15 kg (69.51%), whilw the size structure of the squid caught in the petromax lamp ranges 9,5-27,6 cm totaling 136 tail, weighing 17.91 kg (30.49%), significantly different from the result of t-student.

Abstract

Water temperature directly affects the growth and physiology of ectothermic organisms, including fish. Hence, the experiment was conducted to study the effect of temperature variation on growth performance and physiological response of Tor tambroides juveniles. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four temperature treatments (24°C, 26°C, 28°C, and 30°C) arranged in triplicates. There were 15 Tor tambroides juveniles (total length 4.18 ± 0.32 cm; body weight 0.66 ± 0.03 g) reared in each aquarium (dimensions 40 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm; water volume 40 L) equipped with an aeration system and a heater. The results showed that different rearing water temperatures had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the growth performance (absolute growth, specific growth rate, and survival rate) and the physiological response (hemoglobin value) of the Tor tambroides fingerlings. Tor tambroides fingerlings reared with temperature setting at 28°C showed the highest absolute body weight (1.01 ± 0.30 g) and highest specific growth rate of weight (3.18 ± 0.14% day-1), survival rate (99.37 ± 1.25%), and the lowest FCR (0.94 ± 0.04). The highest hemoglobin and hematocrit levels of the juveniles were found at 30°C. The study showed that the water temperature at 28°C was effective for rearing Tor tambroides fingerlings.
