Abstract

This research aims to develop mathematical teaching materials based on sharia economy for madrasah tsanawiyah students with good quality. The method used in the study is the development model adapted from Borg & Gall is the preliminary stage, development, and validation. The preliminary stage includes literature studies, analysis of the needs and characteristics of students, and to plan and choose the design of teaching materials. The development phase includes determining the competence standard, basic competence, indicators, and the subject matter, compiling teaching materials math, and prepare research instruments. The validation phase includes validation expert and revisions. Results of the study are social arithmetic teaching materials based on sharia economy. Each material begins with the problem of economic comparison of Islamic and conventional. The feasibility of the value of teaching materials is Very Good for aspects of the look and Very Good for the material aspects. With these criteria very well, teaching materials are feasible for use in the learning of mathematics in the social arithmetic material.

Abstract

One of the mathematics learning purposes is using reasoning in patterns and properties, mathematical manipulation in making generalization, compiling evidence, or explaining mathematical ideas and statements. Mathematical learning based on behaviorism has been seen as less successful in instilling character of mathematics reasoning. Therefore, it is necessary to find alternative learning not only teaching but instilling character of mathematical reasoning. This paper offers constructivist in mathematics learning, which is one of the ways to involve the use of inductive-deductive thinking. Activities that involve students learning to use the inductive-deductive mindset needs to be designed and implemented by teachers. Using inductive thinking can be conditioned, especially in the process of understanding a concept or generalization. Deductive thought patterns can be conditioned to improve mathematical reasoning, for example, in the proofing. The mindset of inductive and deductive mathematical reasoning is difficult to separate in the mathematical reasoning therefore it is regarded involving the use of inductive-deductive thinking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar statistika penelitian pendidikan matematika terutama pada materi statistika non parametrik yang layak digunakan dalam perkuliahan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan (Research and Development). Model pengembangan media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan langkah-langkah yang diadaptasi dari Borg Gall, yaitu studi pendahuluan, pengembangan, dan validasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahan ajar statistika penelitian pendidikan matematika dengan model pengembangan Borg Gall yang meliputi tahap pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan, dan tahap validasi. Bahan ajar statistika penelitian pendidikan matematika yang dikembangkan mendapat kategori validitas Sedang dari validator dengan skor 0,793 dan respon mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan bahan ajar statistika penelitian pendidikan matematika yaitu mahasiswa sangat senang dan antusias terhadap penggunaan bahan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui self awareness siswa Madrasah Aliyah ditinjau dari jenis kelamin dan kemampuan matematika (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah), baik secara keseluruhan maupun tiap indikator (emotional awareness, accurate self assessment, dan self confidence). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa Madrasah Aliyah di Yogyakarta dengan sampel siswa di 2 Madrasah Aliyah. Instrumen pengumpulan yang digunakan adalah kuesioner self awareness dan dokumen nilai matematika. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t dan ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan Self Awareness antara siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan, baik self awareness secara keseluruhan maupun tiap indikator self awareness yaitu emotional awareness, self awareness, dan accurate self assessment dan tidak ada perbedaan self awareness antara siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi, siswa dengan kemampuan sedang, dan siswa dengan kemampuan rendah, baik self awareness secara keseluruhan maupun tiap indikator self awareness yaitu emotional awareness, self awareness, dan accurate self assessment. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika belum mampu memberi dampak maksimal terhadap self awareness siswa.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pengembangan Bahan Pembelajaran Geometri dan Pengukuran Model Penemuan Terbimbing Berbantuan Komputer untuk Memperkuat Konsepsi Siswa. Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan untuk geometri dan pengukuran menggunakan model penemuan terbimbing berbantuan komputer untuk memperkuat konsepsi siswa. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa buku guru, buku siswa, dan CD pembelajaran interaktif untuk bahan geometri dan pengukuran menggunakan model penemuan terbimbing berbantuan komputer. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan konsep matematika siswa. Produk tersebut efektif untuk mengajar Matematika, khususnya untuk geometri dan pengukuran menggunakan model penemuan terbimbing untuk siswa SMP kelas VIII. Kata Kunci: bahan pembelajaran, model penemuan terbimbing, konsepsi siswa Abstract: Development of Learning Materials For Geometry and Measurement Using the Computer-Assisted Guided Discovery Model to Strengthen Students’ Conception. This research and development study was aimed to develop materials for Geometry and measurement using the computer-assisted guided discovery model to strengthen students’ conception. The product was in the form of teachers’ book, students’ book, and interactive teaching CD for Geometry and Measurement using the computer-assisted guided discovery model. The findings showed that the developed product could improve students’ mathematics concepts. The product was effective to be used in teaching Mathematics, especially for geometry and measurement using the guided discovery model for the eighth grade students of junior high schools. Abstract

Creative thinking is an essential component of advanced mathematical thinking. The components of creative thinking are lateral thinking (creating one’s own and non-routine ways), divergent thinking (using a variety of ways), and convergent-integrative thinking (using patterns in other situations). One way to develop creative thinking is learning with Bruner’s discovery learning model, namely learning with an enactive, iconic, and symbolic stage. Learning activities with Bruner’s discovery learning on the material of the two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) to explore creative thinking are: 1) preliminary activities: goals and perceptions, 2) core activities include: the enactive stage, which is giving contextual problems to be solved themselves of students to explore lateral thinking, the iconic stage, which is writing solutions and presentations to explore divergent thinking, and the symbolic stage, which is the elaboration of the results of the previous stages to be brought to the mathematical process in the form of modeling and elimination and substitution methods to explore lateral thinking, divergent thinking, and convergent thinking integrative, and 3) closing activities: feedback and conclusions.

Abstract

This study describes students' problem-solving abilities in solving exponential problems in terms of gender differences. Studies on this matter are still rarely done. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The research procedure includes: 1) the pre-field stage, namely interviews with mathematics teachers and the preparation of research instruments; 2) the research stage, namely the provision of problem-solving ability tests, gender scales, and interview guidelines; 3) The data analysis stage, namely reducing data, presenting data and making conclusions. This research was conducted at SMA N 1 Banguntapan Bantul class X MIPA 2. The instruments used were researchers, problem-solving tests, interview guidelines, and gender scales. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in gender types in the context of problem-solving. The masculine gender student solves problems and makes decisions quickly, chooses practical ways of counting, and writes short answers. Feminine gender students have good memorization in solving problems, writing down answers in detail, but hesitating in writing down answers. Students with androgynous gender in solving problems write down answers in detail and have the ability to re-explain the solving process. Meanwhile, students of the sexes cannot be differentiated in solving problems by writing inconsistent answers, using a mathematical model.

Abstract

Al-Quran merupakan kitab suci umat Islam berisi pedoman hidup manusia. Sebagai pedoman hidup manusia, pasti di dalam alQuran tidak hanya memuat pedoman dalam beribadah saja, tetapi memuat pedoman hubungan antar manusia. Salah satu pedoman dalam hubungan antar manusia adalah pedoman yang mengatur cara menuntut ilmu termasuk di dalamnya adalah pembelajaran. Dalam artikel ini, akan disampaikan proses pembelajaran matematika dalam perspektif alQuran. Proses pembelajaran matematika dalam artikel ini merupakan tafsiran dari ayat-ayat alQuran yang dikaitkan dengan konsep pembelajaran matematika yang berkembang sekarang. Prinsip pembelajaran dalam alQuran adalah 1) kegiatan belajar tak dapat diwakili orang lain, harus dialami sendiri oleh siswa, 2) mengajar merupakan upaya untuk membuat orang lain belajar, 3) peran utama pengajar adalah menciptakan kondisi agar terjadi kegiatan belajar pada diri siswa, 4) pendekatan pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa, 5) saling berinteraksi, saling membantu, saling berbicara asyik dengan apa yang dikerjakan, dan 6) berbagi materi saling bertanya/ menjawab. Pembelajaran matematika dalam perspektif alQuran setidaknya memuat kegiatan-kegiatan sebagai berikut: 1) mengamati, membaca, berpikir (QS 96: 1-5), 2) tanya jawab (QS 55: 13), 3) percobaan (QS. 23: 12-16), 4) diskusi (QS 16: 125), 5) pemberian tugas/pembiasaan (QS 16: 67; QS 2: 219; QS: 4: 43; QS 5: 90),  6) pemecahan masalah (QS 94: 5-8), dan 7) refleksi (QS 2: 31-33).
