Abstract

The objectives of the study are as follows: (1) to analyze the entrepre-neurship competence level of dairy farmers, (2) to find out factors that influence the entrepreneurship competence, and (3) to formulize a model of extension service for dairy farmers to improve their entrepreneurship competence level. The research study was conducted at Bandung Regency West Java. The respondents were 151 dairy farmers selected randomly; and the data collected using questionnaires and observation. The number of sample was determined based on Slovin’s formula. Statistical analyses used were correlation, regression and path analysis. The major findings of the study are that the entrepreneurship competence levels of the dairy farmers at the medium category. Factors that influence the entrepreneurship competence of the farmers are their education background and the number of family members, lacking of facilities, informations, and the policy of the government. Extension’s strategies for the entrepreneurship competence improvement are through sthrenghtening of non formal education, and more involvement of family members in daily activities, improvement of daily facilities, informations and sthrenghtening government support.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui konformitas kelompok, modal sosial, dan kerjasama anggota kelompok peternak kambing di Kecamatan Kedung banteng serta menganalisis hubungan antara konformitas kelompok dengan modal sosial dan kerjasama anggota kelompok peternak kambing di Kecamatan Kedungbanteng. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan metode survei. Penetapan sampel wilayah dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling yaitu dengan mengambil dua desa dengan populasi kambing terbanyak yaitu Desa Melung dan Desa Kutaliman. Pengambilan sampel kelompok dilakukan dengan metode sensus yaitu kelompok peternak Desa Melung (Pager Gunung I dan II) dan kelom-pok peternak Desa Kutaliman. Total responden berjumlah 35 orang. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu Analisis Deskriptif dan korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang cukup kuat antara konformitas kelompok dengan modal sosial (0,337) dan antara konformitas kelompok dengan kerjasama (0,367) anggota kelompok peternak kambing di Kecamatan Kedungbanteng.

Abstract

Penelitian berjudul “Minat Peternak Sapi Perah terhadap Inovasi Pakan Komplit Ditinjau dari Sifat Intristik dan Sifat Ekstristik di Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Banjarnegara” telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 2 sampai 17 Agustus 2017, bertempat di Kecamatan Wanayasa, Kabupaten Banjarnegara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui minat peternak sapi perah untuk mengadopsi inovasi pakan komplit pada peternak sapi perah di Kabupaten Banjarnegara, untuk mengetahui sifat intristik dan sifat ekstristik inovasi pakan komplit, dan untuk menganalisis hubungan sifat intristik dan sifat ekstristik inovasi pakan komplit dengan minat peternak untuk mengadopsinya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survey, dengan sasaran peternak sapi perah di Kecamatan Wanayasa, Kabupaten Banjarnegara. Teknik pengambilan sampel wilayah yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling di Kecamatan Wanayasa. Pemilihan sampel kelompok diambil sebanyak 2 kelompok secara acak dan seluruh anggota kelompok dijadikan responden penelitian (sensus) sebanyak 47 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat peternak sapi perah terhadap pakan komplit di Kecamatan Wanayasa, Kabupaten Banjarnegara masuk dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sifat intristik dan sifat ekstristik pada inovasi pakan komplit tidak bertentangan dengan masyarakat. Hasil analisis Rank Spearman menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan nyata antara minat peternak terhadap sifat intristik dan sifat ekstristik inovasi.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze elements of social capital to maintain groups cohesiveness and designing an empowerment model for Women Farmer Groups (KWT). The research method used is explanatory sequential mixed methods design, a two-stage research process, quantitative descriptive analysis and qualitative analysis. Data collection used census techniques for 30 informants, namely all members of KWT Karya Tani , Katel Klawu Hamlet, Pengalusan Village, Mrebet District, Purbalingga Regency and conducted in-depth interviews with 7 key informants and the KWT chairman and management through Focus Group Discussion (FGD).  The research results show that the elements of social capital consisting of strong networks; trust; compliance with norms; cooperation and social awareness for group members as well as involvement in group activities. are in the high category. The empowerment strategy at KWT Karya Tani to maintain cohesiveness is by integrating closed social capital and open social capital that accommodates the complex, heterogeneous social dynamics of society within the ties of social entities attached to KWT Karya Tani. The majority of KWT Karya Tani members are devout Christians and are bound by the religious norms and community organizations. Each member of KWT Karya Tani is a member of the Jamaat Women's Group as well as the wife of a member of the Karya Tani farmer group. This uniqueness presents empirical findings in the study of the empowerment model that will be implemented at KWT Karya Tani, namely a collaborative all aspect of empowerment model through a holistic, community-based approach.
