Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the literacy competencies of students' language proficiency in the aspects of listening, responding to the rules, reading and writing. Literacy competence is a competency that must be considered by educators in honing language proficiency which is an important issue, especially in the development of language skills in students. This research used a quantitative-descriptive method. The data obtained from this study were the results of the Indonesian language proficiency test (UKBI) of students in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program. The population used in this study were students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program, while the sample who had taken the UKBI test was 24 students. The results of this study indicated that the students' language proficiency literacy competence in the listening aspect obtains an average of 538, responds to the average rule of 464, reads an average of 519, and writes an average of 596. The overall average of language proficiency literacy competencies was 529. Twenty-five was in the middle-ranking, indicating that students have adequate proficiency in communicating using Indonesian, both oral and written. With these skills, the student concerned can understand factual information, properly capture and re-reveal information.

Abstract

Letters are a means of conveying information or statements in writing to other parties, either on behalf of the person or because of the official or official representative of the sender, to discuss the problem at hand. Knowledge and understanding of letters are certainly very useful for the community. In particular, administrative staff whose job it is to serve students, lecturers, and the academic community related to administration and correspondence Therefore, the Community Service Team, in order to improve the competence of administrative staff, conducted formal letter-writing training activities for administrative staff of FKIP Riau Islamic University. Based on this, the purpose of this service is to provide an understanding regarding the writing of official letters according to the rules that apply to the administrative staff of the Faculty of Teaching and Education, Islamic University of Riau. The method used in this service is a classical and individual approach. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that administrative staff of FKIP Islamic University can write and apply official letters according to the applicable rules, and training in writing official letters for administrative staff of FKIP Islamic University of Riau can be categorized as successful and according to the target.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan lemahnya kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa adalah ketidakmampuan dalam menganalisis dan mengevaluasi dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam materi menganalisis sistematika dan kebahasaan karya ilmiah. Metode Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Desain ini digunakan untuk membandingkan hasil tes (posttest) antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok control. Data dihasilkan melalui observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai posttest pada setiap indikator kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Kelas eksperimen mencatatkan hasil yang lebih baik pada indikator menganalisis (membandingkan dan membedakan) dengan persentase 91% (sangat baik), sementara kelas kontrol mencatatkan hasil tertinggi pada indikator menganalisis (menganalisis argumentasi), mengevaluasi, dan membuat kesimpulan dengan persentase 90% (sangat baik). Kesimpulan yaitu  hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil posttest kedua kelompok (kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol), dan penerapan PBL secara positif mempengaruhi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa di kelas eksperimen. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa PBL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa, dan penerapannya dapat lebih mendukung siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.
