Abstract

The main problem of this research is the sociological aspects of commercial sex workers (CSW) in Mount Kemukus. This study will focus on sociological forms and patterns in Mount Kemukus community from the aspect of family, social, and work environment, as well as religious activities among CSW in Mount Kemukus. This study also examines the mindset of CSW who are more inclined towards hedonistic life. As a result of this mindset, they are willing to plunge themselves into the practice of prostitution wrapped in pesugihan rituals. The forms and patterns of social interaction of CSW carried out in the sociological environment have experienced various problems, both those that are associative and those that are dissociative with the conditions in society. As for the aspects of religious activities of CSW who adhere to Islam, it shows that most of them no longer carry out the commands of Islamic teachings. One thing they know, namely the hedonist lifestyle with the fastest way to get money to meet the needs of themselves and their families, namely by working as a prostitute in the Kemukus Mountain environment.

Abstract

Religious education in elementary schools so far only serves as a complement of the learning process. The attention and commitment of the government in developing religious education is still limited in fulfilling the obligations of the existing laws and regulations. Themes that are presented in the 2013 Integrative Thematic Curriculum provide new hope in the learning of religious education which will be juxtaposed with other subjects in the learning process. The 2013 Curriculum was created due to the deviant behavior among learners ranging from moral decline and loss of ethics of Indonesian students. New breakthrough in the 2013 Curriculum is expected to answer various social problems that have long proliferated in the world of education. In this paper, we try to reveal the model of religious integration with the existing science in the new curriculum which can be found from the unification of the subject matter through the integration of the basic competencies of each subject into a theme related to nature and environment in everyday life. The subject matter is broke down into several themes which are expected to enable students to understand the subject matter holistically or comprehensively and not partially (piece by piece).

Abstract

The racial, cultural, and religious diversity present in Indonesia poses its own challenges to the education system. Instead of being a source of division, these differences should be seen as an asset. This underscores the necessity of multicultural education. KH. Hasyim Asy'ari and KH. Abdurrahaman Wahid are two figures who have made significant contributions to the progress of Indonesia, particularly in the field of multicultural Islamic education. Therefore, it is important to examine the ideas of these two figures using qualitative methods and a literature review approach. The multicultural Islamic education they advocated has proven effective in addressing conflicts and divisions.
