Abstract

Blind students find difficulties whenever they are involved in the experiment of Archimedes principle as it requests an active visual role. Thus, it is very important to design a special tool for blind students so their practice of Archimedes principle become easier. This paper discusses a research finding which is an innovation of adaptive tools for blind students, such as beaker glass with Braille number, dynamometer with modification and Braille number (Braille Spring Balance) and recording lesson about Archimedes principle. This research done for students MTs LB / A Yaketunis Class VIII which aims at analyzing the quality of each tool by media experts, lesson experts, and physics teacher of MTs LB/A.This research is R & D with procedural models adapted from the development of the 4-D models, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. According to media expert assessment, beaker glass with Braille number and Braille spring balance has a very good quality with percentage of their respective 100% of the ideal score, while the assessment by lesson experts for each tool have a good quality with percentage 80% and 73.33% of the ideal score, and physics teacher of MTs LB / A assessment for each tool have a very good quality with percentage 100%. According to the media and lesson experts, the recording lesson about Archimedes principle have a good quality with percentage 80% of the ideal score, according to physics teacher MTs LB / A, the recording tool has excellent quality either with percentage 91.82% of the ideal score. This research recommends the blinds students to utilize these innovative-adaptive tools which will enable them appropriately practice Archimedes principle as non-blind students.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat berupa pendampingan komunitas muslim Kelompok Tani Makmur dilaksanakan di Dusun Sangiran Desa Katekan Kecamatan Gantiwarno Kabupaten Klaten. Komunitas Muslim Kelompok Tani Makmur perlu mendapat bantuan pendampingan karena mengalami kesulitan air untuk mengolah lahan pertanian pada musim kemarau. Pada musim kemarau Kelompok Tani harus menyediakan irigasi dengan pompa air tenaga motor bensin yang membutuhkan biaya Rp 200.000-Rp 300.000 tiap petak lahan dalam satu kali musim tanam. Kesulitan dalam bercocok tanam berdampak pada berkurangnya pendapatan petani. Pendampingan komunitas muslim Kelompok Tani Makmur bertujuan memberikan percontohan pompanisasi tenaga kincir angin dan mendorong semangat kehidupan beragama, terutama kegiatan TPA. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan membuat pompa PVC dan merakit kincir angin untuk pompanisasi. Sedang dibidang keagamaan, dilakukan pembinaan TPA dengan pengajian, pemberian bantuan buku-buku agama dan menunjuk ustad pengelola TPA. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat berhasil dibuat dua unit kincir angin penggerak pompa air dengan kondisi: pompa PVC yang didigerakkan kincir angin mulai bekerja kecepatan angin 2,8m/s dengan debit 4,4 liter/menit dan pada kecepatan angin 3,5m/s debitnya menjadi 5,3 liter/menit. Kincir angin penggerak pompa tangan Dragon mulai bekerja pada kecepatan angin 2,9 m/s dengan debit 6,3 liter/menit dan pada kecepatan angin 3,5m/s debitnya menjadi 8,0 liter/menit. Dengan hasil pompanisasi tenaga kincir angin ini, diharapkan  cukup digunakan untuk irigasi tanaman palawija sekitar 1000m2 serta menjadi contoh bagi masyarakat petani yang akan membangun kincir angin penggerak pompa air. Di bidang keagamaan telah diadakan pengajian pendorong motivasi anak belajar di TPA, dan pengajian TPA rutin dilakukan tiap Ahad sore setelah sholat Ashar.

Abstract

In this paper geometric algebra and its aplication in the theory of classical electrodynamic will be studied. Geometric algebra provide many simplification and new insight in the theoretical formulation and physical aplication of theory. In this work has been studied aplication of geometric algebra in classical electrodynamics especially Maxwell’s equations. Maxwell’s equations was formulated in one compact equation ÑF=J. The various equation parts are easily identified by their grades.

Abstract

Telah dikaji eksistensi kesetimbangan Nash pada quantum prisoner’s dilemma dengan efek dekoherensi. Kesetimbangan Nash diperoleh pada interval dekoherensi 0,622 <p <=1 dan hilang pada interval dekoherensi 0,622 <p <=1. Interval dekoherensi pada quantum prisoner’s dilemma diperoleh dengan mengevaluasi kesetimbangan Nash pada strategi kuantum Q untuk dua pemain. Hasil tersebut sesuai dengan kasus multiplayer quantum prisoner’s dilemma [15].

Abstract

The aims of this research to know “the efectiveness starter experiment approach (SEA) toward high-order thinking skill of students.” This research is a Quasi Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. We used XI IPA as population. We used simple random sampling. We used pretest and posttest as instrument to gain/obtain our main data. T-test and Normalized-gain (N-gain) are used to analyze those data.  We obtain score sig.(2-Tailed) = 0,041 < α = 0,05,the percentage increase in students in the high is 8%, moderate is 38%, and low is 54%, experiment class N-gain = 0,33 > control class N-gain = 0,20 These result show that experiment class has more effective than control class. It means starter experiment approach (SEA) proven to effective toward high-order thinking skill of students in physics.

Abstract

This study aims to  develop the  module based Integrated science environment technology society (SETS), knowing the quality of modules according to matter experts, media specialists and science teachers SMP / MTs, as well as the response of students to the module. Integrated Science is the study or the development of Research and Development (R & D) procedural models, the model is descriptive, showing the steps to be followed to produce the product. The procedure follows the development of Borg and Gall procedures that can be done more simply by involving five major steps: 1) to analyze the product to be developed; 2) develop the initial product, 3) validation of the expert and revision, 4) small-scale field trials and revision of the product; 5) large- scale field trials and the final product. The results of the module-based Integrated Science (SETS) with the theme of biogas technology. Based on an assessment matter experts, media specialists and science teachers SMP/MTs module Integrated IPA has developed a very good quality with score of 87.69 of the ideal of matter experts, 76.78 of the ideal score of media expert, and 77.75 of the ideal score of teacher SMP/MTs. As for the students' responses on a small scale field trials and large-scale field trials get very good response with score of 78.75 of the ideal in small-scale field trials and 81.17 of the ideal score on a scale field trials great.

Abstract

This study are aimed to identificate student’s mental models of Newton’s Law of Motion and its factors that possed for X grade at State Senior High School 5 Yogyakarta. This study measured up by Newton II Law. This is a descriptive research. The population of this research are students of X grade at State Senior High School 5 Yogyakarta, 243 students. This sample selected 101 students by purposive sampling technique. This study used test and non-test methods. Two tier multiple choice diagnostic test used to find coceptual understanding (step I) and identificate the student’s mental models (step II). The questionnaire used to identificate the factors that possed the student’s mental models. In addition, interview holded for confirm the student’s answers. The results found that students have three determined mental models. The students have  Newtonian  model  with  18%,  the  most  student  used  Hybrid  model  with  24%,Ariestotelian  model  with  11%  and  another  model  with  47%.  Student’s  mental  models influenced by experiment with 10%, student even see the same case 6% and 30% is learning from physics book. There are 54% of  student’s mental models influenced by another factor, such as logical resoaning ang teacher’s explanation.

Abstract

In this paper, the Newton’s law of motions in a noncomutative phase space has been investigated. Its show that correction to the Newton’s first and second law appear if we assume that the phase space has symplectic structure consistent with the rules of comutation of the noncomutative quantum mechanics. In the free particle and harmonic oscillator case the equations of motion are derived on basis of the modified Newton’s second law in a noncomutative phase space.

Abstract

This research intents on knowing: (1) the effectivity of inquiry learning model pictorial riddle type with integration-interconnection content toward critical thinking skill of students on heat and temperature material. (2) the increasing of critical thinking skill of the students who join the lesson using inquiry model pictorial riddle type with integration-interconnection content on heat and temperature material. The research used a quasi experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population were the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Piyungan years 2013/2014. The subject of the study are class XC and XD which chosed by purposive sampling technique. Instrument to examine critical thinking skill of the student was essay questions. Data was collected by test and analyzed using descriptive statistics and normalized gain (N-gain). The results  showed  that:  (1)  there  is  possitive  effect  between  inquiry  learning  model pictorial riddle type with integration-interconnection content toward critical thinking skill of students on heat and temperature material. (2) the increasing of critical thinking skill of the students who join the lesson with inquiry learning model pictorial riddle type with integration-interconnection content on heat and temperature material is hingher than control class with average posttest score 60,65 and  N-Gain 0,316.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi kelas XI IPA MAN LAB UIN Yogyarta. Tes berupa soal pretest dan soal posttest digunakan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif berupa tendensi sentral, ukuran dispersi serta Normalized Gain(N-Gain). Hasil analisa data menunjukkan nilai rata-rata skor posttest adalah 15,18 > rata-rata skor pretestyaitu4,64, serta standar deviasi skor posttestadalah 4,64> nilai standar deviasi skor pretestyaitu3,16. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dilihat dari skor N-gain, yaitu 0,359 dan memasuki kategori sedang. Maka dapat dinyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran  PjBL berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa.
