Abstract

Abstract

Pratama et al, 2018. The Effect of Different C/N Ratio in for Biofloc of Formation Culture Media to the Growth and Survival Rate of Juvenile Climbing Perch (Anabas testudineus). JLSO 7(1):66-73. Climbing perch fish resources still have a problem due to this fish is still obtained only through capture and also the growth of climbing perch fish is slow. The solutions to increase the growth of the climbing perch fish is by applying biofloc technology for climbing perch fish culture. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of different C/N ratio on the growth of climbing perch fish (Anabas testudineus) juvenille with biofloc farming system. This research used a completely randomized design consist of four treatments and three replications. The treatments were without molase (P0), molase with C/N ratio 15 (P1), C/N 20 (P2) and C/N ratio 25 (P3). The results showed that C / N ratio 20 was the best treatment with absolute length of growth of 1.33 cm, absolute growth of weight 1.92 g, survival rate of 99.17% and feed efficiency 138.06%.

Abstract

Inland swamp water has low pH value 3-4, there fore is not suitable for striped catfish culture. Liming is one of the efforts to increase the pH of water. This research aims to increase the swamp water pH for survival rate and grow of catfish. This research used a completely randomized design four treatments and three replications with doses of 0,6 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P1), 0,9 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P2), 1,2 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P3) and 1,5 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P4). The parameters are water quality (temperature, pH, DO, ammonia, alkalinity, and hardness), growth and survival rate of striped catfish. The result showed that (P2) was the best treatment for increasing swamp water pH from 3,6 to 7,57 and soil pH from 3,5 to 7,60, survival rate 86,7%, absolute growth length 4,35 and absolute growth weight 8,30 g and feed efficiency 73,53%.

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of protein levelin diet on feed eficiency and growth rate of Snakehead (Channa striata). Fivediet with different level of protein, diet P25(25% protein); P30 (30% protein); P35(35% protein); P40 (40% protein); and P45 (45% protein) were applied in thisexperiment. Ten fishes with initial body weight range 0.7 – 1.0 gram were rearedin each aquarium (water volume 10 L). Fishes were fed three time a day, atsatiation. Fish reared for 30 days. The result showed that growth rate and feedefficiency of fish fed diet 25% protein level (P25) were0.28 g and 2.46%, diet30% protein (P30) were 0.71 g and 9.86%, diet 35% (P35%) were 0.84 g and14.18%, diet 40% protein were 1.17 g and 16.97%, or diet 45% protein (P45)were 1.00 g and 9.58%. Based on BNT test showed that diet 40% protein levelwas higher growth rate and feed efficiency of fish than others diet. While survivalrate of fish fed diet 25% protein level was 50%, diet 30% protein was 46.67%,diet 35% protein was 76.67%, diet 40% protein was 63.33%, or diet 45% proteinwas 100%. Based on analysis of varians, had no significant different on survivalrate.Water quality of rearing media were temperature range was 26 – 29oC, pHwas 6.7 – 7.2, dissolved oxygen was 1.46 – 4.16 mg.L-1, and ammonia was 0.014- 0.182 mg.L-1.Keywords : Protein level in diet, feed efficiency, growth rate, Channa striata

Abstract

Tidal lowland is an area with significant potential for fisheries development, especially in aquaculture. Abundant water supply and land availability provide great opportunities for cultivating aquaculture commodities such as fish, shrimp, and crab. However, effective water quality management poses a significant challenge, necessitating a comprehensive evaluation based on biological, physical, and chemical assessment. Among the crucial parameters influencing water fertility, the presence of plankton stands out. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate water fertility by identifying plankton species, abundance, diversity, dominancy, and water quality in milkfish ponds at Banyuasin, South Sumatra. The results showed that the abundance of phytoplankton and zooplankton ranged from 1030-1791 individual L-1 and 103-461 individual L-1, respectively. Furthermore, Bacillariaceae was recorded to be the highest specie, followed by Cyanophyta, Chlorophyta, Protozoa, Rotifer, and Arthropoda. The range diversity index varied between 1 to 2.6, while the density and dominance indices ranged from 0.9 and 1, as well as 0.1 and 0.8, respectively. The classification of the pond's fertility fell within the mesotrophic category, signifying a moderate level. In conclusion, the water quality maintained an optimum range, thereby supporting the growth of plankton and milkfish. Meanwhile, only ammonia was below the optimum range stipulated by PP No. 22 of 2021 suggested. Keywords:bioindicatormilkfishplanktontidal lowlandwater quality
