Abstract

Pemeliharaan ikan lele yang dilakukan pembudidaya ikan sebagian besar tidak melakukan upaya pengelolaan kualitas air seperti sirkulasi maupun penggantian air (water exchange). Salah satu teknologi untuk menjaga kualitas air media budidaya adalah menggunakan sistem resirkulasi. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk mengaplikasikan sistem resirkulasi dengan mengunakan filter dalam pengelolaan kualitas air sehingga diperoleh kualitas air yang mendukung bagi budidaya ikan lele. Metode penelitian terdiri dari dua perlakuan yaitu P0: perlakuan non filter dan P1: perlakuan sistem resirkulasi dengan filter. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pengunaan sistem resirkulasi menggunakan filter dapat memperbaiki kualitas air yaitu penurunan kandungan amonia  yaitu dari 2,6 menjadi 0,1 mg/l, pertumbuhan panjang ikan lele sebesar 9,48 cm, pertumbuhan bobot ikan lele sebesar 37,15 g dan kelangsungan hidup sebesar 94%.

Abstract

Riyadhi et al, 2019. The Using of Water Jasmine (Echinodorus palaefolius) as Biological Filter on Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare)  Rearing. JLSO 8(1):67-76. Water quality was one factors that become a contraint in ornamentalfish culture. This study aimed to compare the result of  jasmine water as a biological filter in maintaining water quality and reducing organic matter in the rearing of angelfish with a recirculation system. This research was conducted for 28 days at the Basic Laboratory of  Aquaculture, Departement of aquaculture, Universitas Sriwijaya. The research Used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The results showed that water quality  of  the temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrat and  phosphate values was (27.2-29.2ºC), (5.7-6.9), (4.68-5.74 mgL-1), (0.005-0.037 mgL-1), (0,06-0,12 mgL-1) and ( 0.013-0.107 mgL-1). In treatment P0 the lowest fish survival was 44.45%, absolute length growth was 1.56 ± 0.26 cm, absolute weight growth was 1.47 ± 0.34 g, feed efficiency was 40,54 ± 2,54. While in treatment P4 the highest survival was 72.22%, absolute length growth was 1.24 ± 0.17, absolute weight growth was 1.25 ± 0.24 g feed efficiency 51.32 ± 13. The survival rate of angelfish in the treatment  without using water jasmine showed the lowest percentage of survival compared to other treatment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of natural  honey to male percentage of betta fish by masculinization. This researchwas conducted at FisheriesBasic Laboratory,  Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University on January– February 2018. This research  usedcompletely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this research was4 day of betta fish larvae  that submersed in 5 ml/L  natural honey with different immersiontime.The treatmentconsisted of P0 (without natural honey), P1 (12 hours of immersion), P2 (16 hours of immersion), P3 (20 hours of immersion),and P4 (24 hours of immersion). The observed parameters were post-immersion survival percentage, percentage of male betta fish, post- rearing survival percentage and water quality. The result showed the percentage of male betta fish was 47,50 % (P0), 66,35 % (P1), 73,51% (P2), 75,37 (P3), and 85,14 % (P4). Water quality during maintenace were temperature 27,4-28,8 oC, pH 5,3-5,8, DO 3,43-3,59 mg/L and amonia 0’001-0,002 mg/L. Treatment of P4 (24 hours of immersion) indicatedthe best treatment with larval survival percentage andmale percentage were 90.00% and 85.14% respectirely. Keywords : Betta fish (Betta splendens), masculinization,natural honey

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of study was to know the effect of combination of black soldier fly larva and pellet for growth and survival rate of Pangasius djambal and also to know the optimal food proportion combination of black soldier fly larva and pellet for growth and survival rate of P. djambal. The experiment was arranged has been done for 56 days in the Jambi Freshwater Aquaculture Development Center (JFADC). Fish that used were P. djambal with average weight of 10.17 g. They were placed in aquarium size 100x50x40 cm3 with the density 10 fish/aquarium. The experiment was arranged in a completly randomized design (CRD) with five treatments. Food combination tested were as follows : P1 (100% pellet), P2 (75% pellet and 25% black soldier fly larva), P3 (50% pellet and 50% black soldier fly larva), P4 (25% pellet and 75% black soldier fly larva), P5 (100% black soldier fly larva). The measured parameters were daily growth rate, food convertion ratio, protein efficiency ratio and survival rate of P. djambal. The result of this current experiment indicated that combination of black soldier fly and pellet influenced daily growth rate, food convertion ratio, protein efficiency ratio, but not influenced survival rate of P, djambal. The optimal food combination proportion wich gave the best daily growth rate, food convertion ratio, protein efficiency ratio was 97.0-82.5% pellet and 17.5-21.0% black soldier fly larva. Abstract

ABSTRACT Motile Aerhomonas Septicemia (MAS) is one of bacteria diseases which is often attack freshwater fish. Motile Aerhomonas Septicemia (MAS) or hemmorage septicemia caused by bacteria A. hydrophila. The aim of this reserch examine Averrhoa bilimbi juice mixed on feed in order to effect sangkuriang catfish by A. hydrophila. The research was conducted at September until October 2016 in Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya and Laboraturium UPT Klinik Universitas Sriwijaya. Method of the research uses Completely Ranomized Design with six treatments and three replications. This research was conducted for 25 days of rearing. The catfish given feed mixed A. b          ilimbi juice about 150 mL.kg-1 (P1), 200 mL.kg-1 (P2), 250 mL.kg-1 (P3) dan 300 mL.kg-1 (P4) with frequency was three times a day. The parameters of this reserch is wound diameter, the percentage of cured fish, hematocrit, growth, food convertion ratio, survival rate, and chemical properties (temperature, pH, DO and ammonia). The results showed that the addition of A. bilimbi juice at P1 be obtained the percentage of cured fish was 64.47% and survival rate was 71.11%. P2 be obtained the percentage of cured fish was 68.89% and survival rate was 73.33%. P3 be obtained the percentage of cured fish was 72.53% and survival rate was 80.00%. P4 be obtained the percentage of cured fish was 95.40% and survival rate was 95.56%. P4 with dose 300 mL.kg-1 feed is the best treatment bacterial A. hydrophila infection of hematocrit was 32%, the percentage of cured fish was 95.40%, and survival rate was 95.56%. Water quality parameters during maintenance is still in a state of optimum range. Keywords: Aeromonas hydrophila, Sangkuriang catfish, Averrhoa bilimbi juice.

Abstract

ABTRACT The aim of this research was to know the effect of paci-paci (L. lavandulaefolia) powder addition in feed suplemented for 14 days to the prevent A. hydrophila infection Pangasius sp. The research was conducted on August-September 2016 in Laboratorium Kolam Percobaan Budidaya Perairan, Aquaculture Study Program, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University and hematocrite examination was conducted in PMI Palembang. The research based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and three replications. The fish was injected by A. hydrophila with density of 1,7x108 cfu.mL-1. The Pangasius sp. has been reared for 30 days and fed with pellet enriched  with 8%, 10%, 12 % and 14% Leucas lavandulaefolia  powder. Feeding frequency was four times a day. The parameters observed on this research were prevalence, hematocrite, survival, growth and water quality. The result showed that the addition the Laucas lavandulaefolia powder in feed effect on prevalence, survival rate and patin fish growth. The treatment that produced the best prevention was the addition of 12% Leucas lavandulaefolia powder in feed which produced 28.07% prevalence, 85.00% survival rate and 1.11 cm absolute length growth. Keywords: A. hydrophila, Pangasius sp, Dosage, Leucas lavandulaefolia,

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine the best fertilizer compotition that was made from technical fertilizer and waste water of cat fish farming. This experimental was conducted at Aquaculture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. It used complete randomized design (CRD) method which had five treatments and three replications, the waste water from catfish pond (P0), waste water from catfish pond + 25% technical fertilizer (P1), waste water from catfish pond + 50% technical fertilizers (P2), the waste water from catfish pond + 75% technical fertilizers (P3), the waste water from catfish pond + 100% technical fertilizers (P4). The results showed that the best maximum density of S. platensis was P3 about 3.98 g l-1, and growth rate was equal to 2.80% day-1. The most significant parameter of water quality was ammonia which decreased until 82.78%. Besides, it was more beneficial than others based on Return Cost Ratio (R/C ratio) and Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C ratio) which were 3.66 and 2.66 respectively. Keywords: Spirulina platensis, waste water pond of catfish, modified  media

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe frequency of flushing on coconut charcoal and sponge filters by Recirculation Aquaculture System (RAS) can apply to maintain water quality. This research was conducted on Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from March to May 2017. The study used Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment were using filter flushing every week (P1), 2 weeks (P2), 3 weeks (P3) and without leaching (P4). The parameters observed were temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), turbidity, total dissolved solids (TDS) and ammonia. The results showed that the flushingfrequency gave of the filter has a positive effect on water quality parameters. Treatment P2 has resulting better water quality such as temperature (28.3-29.2), pH (6.9-7.2), DO (1.11 mg.L-1), Turbidity (0.00 NTU), TDS (22.33 mg.L-1), ammonia (0.020 mg.L-1), survival rate 83.33%, absolute growth (0.93 cm for lenght and 0.58 g for weight). Keywords: flushing of filter, resirculation system, water quality, angelfish

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to know optimal feeding rate for growth, survival rate, food convertion, protein efficiency ratio, protein retention and lipid retention of Pangasius djambal fingerlings (weight 3.5-4.0 g). This experiment was done from Maret until May 2007, at Jambi Freshwater Aquaculture Development Center. This experiment used four treatments at feeding rate 2.50%, 5.00%, 7.50% and 10.00% of fish body weight. The result of research showed that the feeding rate 10.0% of fish body weight gave the highest value for daily growth rate 4.11%. the feeding rate 5.0% of body weight wasn’t different in daily growth rate until 7.50% of fish body weight significantly and gave food cenvertion efficiently until 1.35. The feeding rate 2.50% of fish body weight had the highest value for protein efficiency ratio (2.49), protein retention (153.70%) and lipid retention (175.31%). The optimum feeding rate for daily heavy growth rate were feeding rate 8.88% of fish body weight. Abstract

ABSTRACT Fitoremediation is one of water quality management system by using water plant such as Hydrilla verticillata that is purposed to decrease organic materials. This research was conducted at Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University,Indralaya on May – July 2016. The research based on a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three replications. The treatments were media without H. verticillata (P0), addition of H. verticillata as much as 85 ± 10 g (P1), 110 ± 10 g (P2) and 135 ± 10 g (P3). The parameters were water quality, survival rate and specific growth rate of catfish. The data were analyzed by regressions analysis, analysis of variance and least significant diference test. The result showed that the addition of H. verticillata could improved water quality. The treatment of addition ofH. verticillata as much as 135 ± 10 g (P3) has highest survival rate 95.49 %, spesific growth rate for length 1.53 %.day-1 and weight 5.25 %.day-1. Keywords: Catfish,  Hydrilla verticillata, Phytoremediation, Water Quality
