Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi atau hubungan antara bobot badan dengan ukuran-ukuran tubuh kambing Jawarandu betina pada kelompok umur muda dan dewasa di Kabupaten Blora, Jawa Tengah. Materi 164 ekor kambing Jawarandu betina yang dibedakan menjadi 83 ekor untuk kelompok muda dan 81 ekor untuk kelompok dewasa. Metode penelitian survei dan pemilihan lokasi menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Ukuran tubuh yang diukur lingkar dada (LD), lebar dada (LbDd), dalam dada (DlDd), panjang badan (PB), tinggi pundak (TP), lebar pinggul (LbPg), tinggi pinggul (TgPg) dan bobot badan (BB). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata bobot badan dan semua variabel ukuran tubuh pada semua kelompok umur berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01). Hasil perhitungan uji korelasi menunjukkan nilai korelasi yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) baik pada kelompok umur muda dan dewasa. Pada kelompok umur muda semua variabel tubuh mempunyai nilai korelasi yang sangat kuat terhadap bobot badan yakni berkisar 0,847-0,954. Namun, kelompok umur dewasa hanya lingkar dada dan panjang badan yang mempunyai korelasi yang sangat kuat dengan bobot badan (0,876) dan (0,818). Korelasi antara bobot badan dengan ukuran tubuh yang lain seperti dalam dada, tinggi pundak, lebar pinggul serta tinggi pinggul pada kelompok umur dewasa mempunyai korelasi yang kuat yaitu 0,653-0,736, sedangkan lebar dada mempunyai korelasi yang sedang (0,532). Kesimpulan dari penelitian semua variabel ukuran tubuh kelompok umur muda dapat digunakan untuk menduga bobot badan, sedangkan pada kelompok umur dewasa hanya variabel lingkar dada dan panjang badan yang dapat digunakan sebagai penduga bobot badan.Kata kunci:   Angka korelasi;  Bobot badan;  Kambing Jawarandu betina; Ukuran-ukuran tubuh. ABSTRACT This research was aimedto analyze the correlation between body measurements and body weight of young and adult female Jawarandu goats in Blora Regency. The goats used in this research were 164 females Jawarandu goats divided into two groups. The number of young aged group were 83heads while the adult group was 81 heads. The research used survey andpurposive sampling methods. The parameters measured were the chest girth,chest width, chest depth,body length, shoulder height,hip width, hip height and body weight of Jawarandu goats females. The result showed that the body measurement of all age groups were highly significant (P<0.01). The correlation between body measurement and body weight all age groups showed highly significant(P<0.01). Correlation of body weight and body measurements of female Jawarandu goats in the young group had the highest value of 0.847-0.954. However, in the adult age group chest girth and body length were highly correlated with body weight, being 0.818 and 0.876 respectives.The correlation between another body measurement and body weight such as chest depth, shoulder height, hip width, and hip height at adult age group had a strong correlation (0.653 to 0.736), except the chest width had a moderate correlation (0.532). The conclusion of this study were all body measurements at young age group could be used to estimate body weight of female Jawa randu goats, where as on the adult age group only chest girth and body length that could be used for estimate the body weight.Keywords: Correlations;Body weight; Body measurements;  Female Jawarandu goats.

Abstract

ABSTRAKUkuran-ukuran tubuh ternak dapat dijadikan penduga bobot badan ternak tanpa harus menimbang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ukuran tubuh yang memiliki hubungan paling kuat dengan bobot badan sebagai penduga bobot badan untuk kambing Jawarandu. Penentuan sampel kambing dengan metode purposive sampling dan diambil dari beberapa kecamatan. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah umur ternak, ukuran lebar pinggul (LePi), lebar dada (LeDa), tinggi pinggul (TiPi), tinggi pundak (TiPu), dalam dada (DaDa), lingkar dada (LiDa), panjang tubuh (PaTu), dan bobot badan (BB). Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa keeratan hubungan ukuran tubuh terhadap bobot badan pada setiap kelompok umur berbeda-beda yakni kelompok 1 (0-4 bulan): tinggi pinggul dan panjang tubuh (0,942; 0,926), kelompok 2 (>4-8 bulan): lingkar dada dan tinggi pinggul (0,933; 0,900), kelompok 3 (>8-12 bulan): tinggi pundak dan lingkar dada (0,902; 0,900). Persamaan regresi berganda yang muncul ialah kelompok 1: BB (kg) = -20,17 + 0,36 TiPi (cm) + 0,29 PaTu (cm) dengan nilai r = 0,96, kelompok 2: BB (kg) = -34,58 + 0,41 TiPi (cm) + 0,50 LiDa (cm) nilai r = 97, dan kelompok 3: BB (kg) = -45,84 + 0,54 TiPu (cm)+ 0,57 LiDa(cm) dan nilai r = 0,94. Simpulan dari penelitian ini ialah ukuran tubuh tinggi pinggul, panjang tubuh, lingkar dada, dan tinggi pundak dapat digunakan sebagai penduga bobot badan pada kambing Jawarandu jantan berumur 0-12 bulan.Kata kunci : ukuran tubuh; bobot badan; korelasi; kambing Jawarandu ABSTRACTSThe animal body measurements could be used as an estimators of body weight without weighing the animal. This study was aimed to determine the body measurements that highly correlated to body weight for Jawarandu goats. The samples of Jawarandu goats was determined by purposive sampling method and was taken from several sub-districts. Parameters observed in this study were the age of the goat, hip width (HW), chest width (CW), hip height (HH), shoulder height (SH), depth of chest (DC), chest circumference (CC), body length (BL), and body weight (BW). Statistical analysis showed that the correlation of body measurements to body weight at each different age group i.e. group 1 (0-4 months): hip height and body length (0.942; 0.926), group 2 (>4-8 months): chest circumference and hip height (0.933; 0,900), group 3 (>8-12 months): high shoulders and chest circumference (0.902; 0.900). Multiple regression equation that fit in group 1: BW (kg) = -20.17 + 0.36 HH (cm) + 0.29 BL (cm) with a value of r = 0.96, group 2: BW (kg) = -34.58 + 0.41 HH (cm) + 0.50 CC (cm) value of r = 97, and group 3: BW (kg) = -45.84 + 0.54 SH (cm) + 0.57 CC (cm) and the value r = 0.94. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui korelasi atau hubungan antara bobot badan dengan ukuran-ukuran tubuh kambing Jawarandu jantan pada berbagai kelompok umur di Kabupaten Blora, Jawa Tengah. Materi berupa125 ekor kambing Jawarandu jantan yang dibedakan menjadi 5 kelompok umur (>0-3 bulan; >3-6 bulan; >6-12 bulan; >12-18 atau poel 1; >18-30 bulan atau poel 2) masing-masing berjumlah 25 ekor. Metode penelitian survey dan pemilihan lokasi secarapurposive sampling. Parameter tubuh yang diukur panjang badan (PB), lingkar dada (LD), lebar dada (LbD), dalam dada (DD), tinggi pundak (TP), lebar pinggul (LPi), tinggi pinggul (TPi) dan bobot badan (BB). Data yang diperoleh diolah untuk mendapatkan koefisien korelasi (r), koefisien determinasi (R2) dan persamaan regresi sederhana.Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata bobot badan dan semua variabel ukuran tubuh pada semua kelompok umur berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01). Umur >0-3 bulan sampai umur >6-12 bulan pertumbuhan bobot badan dan panjang badan nyata (P<0,05), umur >12-18 bulan atau poel 1 dan >18-30 bulan atau poel 2 pertumbuhan tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05).  Lingkar dada, lebar dada, dalam dada, dan lebar pinggul mempunyai nilai yang nyata dari umur >0-3 bulan sampai umur >18-30 bulan atau poel 2 (P<0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian yaitu variabel yang mempunyai nilai korelasi paling kuat dalam pendugaan bobot badan adalah panjang badan dan lingkar dada.Kata kunci:   Korelasi;  Bobot badan;  Ukuran-ukuran tubuh Kambing Jawarandu Jantan ABSTRACT The research aimed toanalyze the correlation or the relationship between body weight and body measurements of male Jawarandu goats at various age groups at Blora, Central of Java. Total 125 male Jawarandu goats were measured and divided into five groups (25 heads of each group) of age i.e. >0-3 months; >3-6 months; >6-12 months; >12-18 or Poel 1; >18-30 months or Poel 2, respectively. The research was carried out based on survey methods and site selection using purposive sampling technique. Body size measured were body length (PB), chest circumference (LD), chest width (LbD), the chest depth (DD), shoulder height (TP),the hips width (LPi), hip height (TPi) and body weight (BB). The results showed that body weight and all body measurements in all age groups differ significantly (P<0.01), eventhoughthe body weight, shoulder height,body length and hip height had a similar growth pattern. At age group of >0-3 months to age of>6-12 months the body weight and body length grownsignificantly (P<0.05), whereas at age >12-18 months or Poel 1 and >18-30 months or Poel 2 the growth tended to remain (P>0.05). The chest circumference, chest width, the chest depth, and hips width had the same growth pattern namely increased from age >0-3 months to age of>18-30 months or Poel 2 (P<0.05). The conclusion of this research was body length and chest circumference was highly correlated to estimatethe body weight.Keywords: Correlations coefficient; Body weight; Body measurements; Male Jawarandu goat
