Abstract

Tilik merupakan warisan asli budaya Jawa yang mengangkat pola keseharian masyarakat Indonesia pada umumnya. Tujuan penulisan untuk menjabarkan bagaimana kearifan lokal budaya jawa di dalam film Tilik. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan konsep triadic Charles Sanders Peirce yang kemudian diaplikasikan menjadi konsep matter of expression di dalam film melalui adegan, karakter, bahasa dan dialog yang ditampilkan selama 32 menit. Hasilnya ditemukan kearifan lokal budaya Jawa khususnya masyarakat pedesaan melalui kebiasaan yang sering dihadapi oleh masyarakat dalam kesehariannya. Budaya Tilik yang dilakukan ibu-ibu Jawa ini sebagai bentuk toleransi serta rasa kebersamaan antar warga melalui sikap teposliro. Pemaparan simbol Jawa terlihat dari karakter pemeran film, setting keindahan alam Kecamatan Dlingo, Bantul, Yogyakarta, suasana jalan raya yang dilewati truk, keindahan sawah, serta Jawa Ngoko masyarakat desa sangat terasa melalui dialog yang digunakan di dalam keseluruhan film namun terdapat nilai-nilai budaya yang dikonstruk dan diproduksi sehingga memberikan penilaian bahwa pemaparan wanita Jawa yang disajikan di dalam film sedikit berlebihan menjadi proses penandaan, praktik yang membuat suatu hal menjadi memiliki makna. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh bahwa kearifan lokal budaya Jawa khususnya masyarakat pedesaan melalui kebiasaan yang sering dihadapi oleh masyarakat dalam kesehariannya.

Abstract

The film tells stories and theme about the suffering of others as a humanist always aim to arouse the emotions and feelings of the audiences. This Film get a lot of positive responses from various parties, especially films that emphasize the sorrow. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the narrative structure of the film Dancing In The Rain as a representation and commodification of depression for the audience. The author uses a qualitative descriptive study in which the representation and commodification of heartache in Dancing In The Rain movie is analyzed through the analysis of narrative structure according to Tzvetan Todorov, the presentation of moral values in the film, and the relation with the culture industry as a medium for image formation. How the sadness and heartache of autistic sufferers is commodified as a product that entertains and motivates the audiences. The conclusion, the reality in the film will be a learning through representation and the commodification of heartache give a description of the conditions, experiences and problems faced by the main character (autistic sufferers) struggling to faced life.

Abstract

Film merupakan suatu karya audiovisual yang memiliki beberapa tujuanpenyampaian pesan dalam bentuk informasi, edukasi dan hiburan. Filmdalam penelitian ini bercerita tentang Nussa yang akan mengikutikompetisi sains di sekolahnya. Akan tetapi, eksperimen roketnya tahun inimembawa Nusa menjadi juara kedua karena kehadiran Jonni yangmemiliki roket canggih. Melalui film ini, peneliti melihat pesan yangdisampaikan melalui teknik sinematografi pada tokoh Nussa yang pantangmenyerah dan ikhlas berusaha membuat roketnya lebih baik walaudengan menggunakan barang bekas. Penelitian ini menggunakanpendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan tekniksinematografi berdasarkan teori Joseph V. Mascelli A.S.C meliputi10 Jurnal CalaccitraComposition, Camera Angle, Shot Size, Continuity dan Cutting atau Editingdalam mengemas pesan di dalam film. Penelitian menggunakan teknikanalisis bahan visual dengan metode pengumpulan data menggunakanteknik dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini teknik sinematografi dalammenggambarkan pesan pantang menyerah dan ikhlas menggunakankeseluruhan teknik dengan composition framing, menggunakan cameraangle, shot size didominasi oleh long shot, medium close up dan close updalam memberikan informasi mengenai tempat, ruang dan kejadiandalam frame yang digabungkan dengan continuity waktu dan ruang, sertamenggunakan teknik editing cutting continuity di mana adegan berjalansesuai urutan dari awal sampai akhir.

Abstract

At the beginning of 2020 the world was shocked by the Corona virus, information circulating about the Corona virus came from Wuhan, China. The Corona virus has caught the public's attention and caught the attention of the mass media. Many people do not know Covid-19, therefore they seek information on Covid-19 through the media.The purpose of this study was to determine the Tanjung Rejo community’s perception of the mass media coverage of the Corona virus. The theory used in this research is theory of perception and theory of uses and effect. The method used is a qualitative approach and face-to-face interviews with the people of Tanjung Rejo to collect the data. The data analysis technique used in this research is a qualitative approach. This research is descriptive, and describes the object of research as it is based on facts. This research is an attempt to reveal news issues related to the Corona virus or the circumstances of events that actually occurred. The results of this study indicate that the Tanjung Rejo community's perception of mass media reporting about the Corona virus is that some people are very afraid of excessive reporting that is informed by the mass media because media is reporting too much about the Corona virus

Abstract

The development of post-Covid-19 horror films has not lowered spirits the enthusiasm of Indonesian filmmakers to produce horror films that elevate Javanese culture. This article aims to explain story concepts for Javanese culture that appear in the film as something mystical from songs, spells, rituals, myths, beliefs, ancient ornaments, costumes, and the language used. This is often alluded to with the tradition of Kejawen which is mostly adhered to by the Javanese people. Kejawen emerged from the beliefs and rituals of a mixture of formal religions with the worship of natural forces. The Javanese view, society, and nature as a unity in life. Nature becomes a major determinant for the safety and destruction of life. Another belief is in kesaktén (supernatural powers), belief in ancestral spirits, and spirits are considered to be able to bring peace, and safety but also health problems, thoughts, and even death. The book Spiritualism of Java by Iman Budhi Santosa on the history, practice, and essence of Javanese teachings is used to approach this problem. Data was collected from selected horror films from 2019 to 2022 and analyzed qualitatively. This study concludes that the understanding of Kejawen is incomplete, so various traditions, rituals, and myths are based on the belief that Javanese culture is often mystical, occult, and frightening, so it is often used as an idea to attract the attention of horror film lovers.

Abstract

During the New Order era, all comments, protests against the government, or depicting reality would receive harsh punishment, and some would be arrested. The government silences everyone’s right to freedom of speech and express opinions through state security measures. The film Langitku Rumahku (1989) owned by Slamet Rahardjo and Erros Djarot had become a controversial film because it dared to describe a picture of social differences between two classes of society which was interpreted as a criticism of the New Order government at that time so finally this film had its broadcast period limited and withdrawn from circulation. This study aims and focuses on describing criticism of the New Order government in the film Langitku Rumahku. To approach this problem, the Semiotics theory (Ferdinand de Saussure) is used to see signifier and signified which is strengthened by several social theories to describe the socio-political atmosphere of that era. Data were collected through films and analyzed qualitatively. This study concludes that criticism is clearly illustrated through the discrimination of the characters, symbols, and dialogues displayed in the film so that they have relevance to the research objectives.

Abstract

Kecemasan/Anxiety adalah suatu keadaan aprehensi atau keadaan khawatir yang mengeluhkan bahwa sesuatu yang buruk akan segera terjadi. Kecemasan bisa menjadi abnormal bila tingkatannya tidak sesuai dengan proporsi ancaman. Kecemasan/Anxiety merupakan salah satu kasus yang sering dimunculkan dalam adegan-adegan pada film, Salah satunya terdapat pada film yang penulis teliti yaitu Thirteen Reasons Why Season 4. Penelitian ini fokus pada pemaknaan pesan tentang Anxiety Disorder dari karakter Clay Jensen yang terkandung dalam serial drama Thirteen Reasons Why Season 4. Dalam pembahasan nya, disusun beberapa rumusan masalah, yaitu: bagaimana unsur Anxiety Disorder yang terdapat pada episode 3 serial ini dan bagaimana Signifier dan Signified dari Anxiety Disorder padaepisode 3 serial ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana unsur Anxiety Disorder yang terdapat pada serial ini dan bagaimana bentuk Signifier dan Signified dari Anxiety Disorder pada serialini. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan ialah penelitian kualitatif analisis semiotika. Unit analisis penelitian ini adalah potongan-potongan gambar, teks, suara, atau bunyi- bunyian yang terdapat dalam Episode 3 Serial Drama “Thirteen Reasons Why Season 4”. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure dengan dua tahap yakni penanda dan petanda. Hasil dari penelitian ini melalui triangulasi data adalah gejala Anxiety dari Clay diklasifikasikan ke Generalize Anxiety Disorder.
