Abstract

The objective of this research was to obtain the high production of soybean varieties. The research conducted at Tanjung Slamat, Medan, North Sumatra (+ 25 m above sea level) in April 2012- July 2012. The research using Randomized Block Design, that is Argomulyo variety population, Anjasmoro variety population, M7. 10 krad population, M7.15 krad population and M7.20 krad. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and if there is a significantly difference was continued with Least Significant Difference test. The results showed that mutant population were significantly different to number of branches on main stem,  the number of books per plant, flowering age, harvesting age, number of empty pods per plant,  number of seeds per plant and weight of seeds per plant. From progeny test, production per plot was increased from M6 generation (195,90 g) to the M7 generation (361,33g). The high value of genetic progress was in number of empty pods per plant contains (27,2%) while the low value of genetic progress was in weight of 100 seeds. High heritability value was in flowering age (0.78) and harvesting age (0,99) while the low heritability value was in percentage of germination (0.18), number of filled pods per plant (0,19) and weight of 100 seeds (0). Abstract

The adaptation of some shallot varieties has been conducted with the application of chicken manure andNPK fertilizer. The goal of this research is to know the adaptation of some shallot varieties in lowlandapplication of chicken manure and NPK fertilizer. The research was conducted at community land onPasar 1 Medan Selayang, Medan with altitude of 25 meters above sea level from May to July 2012. Usingrandomized block design. The first factor is three shallot varieties are Kuning, Medan, and Maja. Thesecond factor is four types of fertilizer; control, 240 g/plot chicken manure, 48 g/plot NPK, and chickenmanure plus NPK. The results showed that the varieties and fertilizer are significant in the fresh weightand number of cloves but not significant in plant height, number of tillers per hill, and dry weight. Whereas the interaction between varieties with fertilizers are not significant in all parameters. Heritability valuesranged from 0.03 - 0.87. All of the varieties tested have not been able to adapt well in the lowland interms of production so further studies using different varieties in the lowland is suggested.Key Words : shallot varieties, low land, chicken manure, NPK fertilizer.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know effect of paclobutrazol to the number of chlorophyl,flowering time, and harvesting time of two sorghum varieties. This research was conducted inexperimental field at Jl. Pasar I Tanjung Sari, Medan from October 2013-January 2014,used randomized block design with two factors paclobutrazol concentration (0 g/l, 0,50 g/l,0,75 g/l, and 1 g/l) and varieties (Kawali and Numbu). Parameters measured were the number ofchlorophyl, flowering time, and harvesting time. The result showed that paclobutrazol affectedsignificantly on plant height, stem diameter, and flowering time. Varieties have significant differenton the number of chlorophyl, flowering time, and harvesting time.The interaction of the two factorsnot affected significantly on all parameters. There was no interaction between paclobutrazolconcentration and varieties to all parameters measured.Keywords: paclobutrazol, variety, sorghum

Abstract

Effect of Ascorbic Acid to Recovery of Partial Tapping Panel Dryness (TPD) of Rubber Plant In The clones of PB 260 andIRR of 42,This aim of the research is to determine the effect of Ascorbic Acid to Recovery of Partial Tapping Panel Dryness (TPD) of clones PB 260 and IRR 42 rabber plant. This research was conducted at the research Estate and Physiological Laboratory of Balai Penelitian Sungei Putih, Pusat Penelitian Karet, Galang, Deli Serdang, Sumatra Utara, from May 2015 ­- October 2015, The research was designed by split plot with two factors. The main plot was clonesrubber plant (PB 260 and IRR 42), the subplot was treatments ascorbic acid(0 ppm, 150 ppm, 300 ppm, 450 ppm).Parameters measured were the levels of sucrose, inorganic phosphate, thiol, superoksidase dismutase (SOD), latex productivity and stoppage index.The results showed that clones PB 260 and IRR 42 rubber live significant different on production of latex. Application of Ascorbic acid him no significantly different on the levels of thiol, level of sukrosa,level of inorganic phosphate. The Interaction of the two treatment is significantly different with latex  productivity.
