Abstract

The general objective of this study was to find a kind of evaluation instrument for scientific literacy oriented toward Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and the specific purposes of this study were to investigate the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of it. This was a Research & Development study which was simplified into two stages; they are the preliminary stage and the development stage. This study resulted of multiple choice test which the validity was 3,35. The instrument was very effective to be used by students and science concept lectures in Elementary School Education Programmed to describe the profile of scientific literacy. The instrument could practically be used by the students and science concept lecturers in Elementary School Education Programmed based on the positive students and lecturers‟ responses.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan bentuk perangkat pembelajaran berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) dengan tujuan khusus menguji kevalidan, keefektifan, dan kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis STEM yang dikembangkan. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan desain Research & Development yang disederhanakan ke dalam dua tahapan, yaitu tahap pendahuluan dan tahap pengembangan. Penelitian pengembangan ini menghasilkan perangkat dalam bentuk Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) berbasis STEM, Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) berbasis STEM, bahan ajar berbasis STEM, lembar Alat Penilaian Kemampuan Mengajar (APKM) 1 dan 2, lembar observasi aktivitas mahasiswa selama pembelajaran berbasis STEM, lembar angket minat mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran berbasis STEM. Perangkat penilaian yang dikembangkan memiliki validitas sangat tinggi dengan skor 84,38 % untuk aspek kesesuaian isi, 82,50% untuk aspek kebahasaan, dan 82,14 %. untuk aspek kegrafikan. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan efektif digunakan oleh mahasiswa dan dosen pada materi pesawat sederhana karena dapat digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan profil STEM mahasiswa uji coba. Setelah melaksanakan pembelajaran berbasis STEM, kemampuan Science mahasiswa meningkat sebesar 27,20 %, kemampuan technology meningkat sebesar 23,36%, kemampuan engineering meningkat sebesar 55,20 %, dan kemampuan mathematics meningkat sebesar 81,80 %. Keefektifan pembelajaran juga ditunjukkan dengan keberhasilan dosen mendisain pembelajaran. Disain pembelajaran memperoleh skor 100 dari kedua penilai. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan praktis digunakan oleh mahasiswa dan dosen untuk materi pesawat sederhana berdasarkan respon positif mahasiswa dan dosen uji coba. Kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis STEM ditunjukkan dari keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Persentase aktivitas mahasiswa saat pembelajaran STEM sebesar 75,79 % menunjukkan aktivitas mahasiswa saat pembelajaran termasuk kategori baik dan kemampuan mengajar dosen memperoleh skor rata-rata 97,73.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to know the student's response after implementing scientific literacy through problem based learning and its influence on students' scientific literacy ability. This study used the classroom action research formed by Kemmis & Taggart. Implementation problem based learning was conducted to fifth grade SDN Sidorejo 1 Tuban in the academic year 2017/2018. Scientific literacy through problem based learning received good response from students, its above 80% consists of language, graphic, and suitability of technical requirements of teaching materials. The ability of student scientific literacy is enhanced for six indicators, identifying valid scientific opinions, conducting an effective literature, understanding the design elements of the study and how their impact on findings/ conclusions, solving problems using quantitative skills, understanding and interpreting basic statistics, predicting, and conclusing based on quantitative data.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find a Assessment Book based Science Literacy with the specific aim of knowing the validity of it. This research was conducted at the PGRI Ronggolawe University Tuban (UNIROW) for students of PGSD UNIROW class 2019. The research period was started from April to August 2020. The research design used in this study was the Dick and Carey development model. This research design is used because it is more specific in its development. In the early stages of the research, research was carried out, namely the research stage or literature study to obtain information about the product needs to be developed. The development stages consist of seven stages, they were (1) needs analysis, (2) analysis of the form of BuPena BeRiSi, (3) analysis of the material with the skills to be achieved, (4) formulating goals for achieving skills, (5) developing BuPena BeRiSi , (6) BuPena BeRiSi validation, (7) BuPena BeRiSi revision. BuPena BeRiSi products have not been tested extensively because they have been hampered by the Covid-19 pandemic. The validation results show that the assessment of the content and language suitability components gets good criteria. The graphic components and the conformity of the technical requirements obtain excellent criteria. The component that got the highest percentage score was the graphic component with a score percentage of 91.67%. The suitability component of the technical requirements obtained a score of 90.63% with excellent criteria. The content and language suitability components obtained a score of 75% in the good category.

Abstract

Science subjects, especially Biology, require students to understand something not only macroscopic but also microscopic. Therefore, most students are less able to understand biology materials, especially those that are microscopic. The purpose of the study was to improve the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Bojonegoro after applying project-based learning to the material on Cells and Life Organization. The type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The research subjects were the VII grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Bojonegoro, totaling 23 students. The research instrument used was a test sheet. The research data was analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. Data analysis showed that the average pre-cycle learning outcome was 63.5 with 17.4% classical completeness. In cycle 1, the average learning outcome was 81.1 with 65.2% classical completeness. In cycle 2, the average learning outcome was 88.3, with 91.3% classical completeness. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that project-based learning can improve the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Bojonegoro.
