Abstract

Nurse as educator and counselor for patients can provide assistance to patients in the form of the supportive-educative system by providing health education or counseling with the goal of treatment of hypertension patients were able to perform independently. One technique used counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is an approach to psychotherapy that is used to handle the emotions dysfunctional, maladaptive behaviors and cognitive processes and contents through goal-oriented, systematic procedure explicit. This study aims to determine the effect of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) against self-efficacy and self-care behavior of patients with hypertension in the city of Palangkaraya. The design used in this study is a quasi-experiment with the non-randomized study design pretest-posttest control group design. Sampling techniques in this study were consecutive sampling, 12 patients with hypertension in the puskesmas Kayon, the city of Palangkaraya as the intervention group and 12 patients with hypertension in the puskesmas Panarung, the city of Palangkaraya as a control group. The results showed that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) significantly improve self-efficacy of patients with hypertension in the city of Palangkaraya (p = 0.000) and also improve self-care behavior of patients with hypertension in the city of Palangkaraya (p=0.000) Recommendations of the results of this study is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be used as action by nurses in puskesmas through home visits to patients with hypertension to reduce complications of the disease and improve the quality of life of patients hypertension.

Abstract

The quality of education service can observe with how the institution gives a quality asurance. The government pass-through Kepmenpan No: KEP/25/M.PAN/2/2004 have made guedeline to assess of costumers satisfaction for every institution belonging to the educational institution. Health Polytechnic Palangka Raya as an educational institution has given education serve need to measure costumers satisfaction. The survey has been a method on this research with a questioner as the instrument. 437 people have been a respondent on this research consists of student, lecturer, staff, parent, alumni, and stakeholder. The result of the research have shown the student, lecturer, and parent satisfaction index value belonging to a good actual performance and very good for staff, alumni, and stakeholder. Thereby, it is generally that educational services on Health Polytechnic Palangka Raya were given satisfaction to the student, lecturer, staff, parent, alumni, and stakeholder.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) and hypertension are diseases that often appear together. DM patients with hypertension are at risk for microvascular and macrovascular complications. Self-care activities that are carried out regularly will improve the health condition of DM patients, thereby reducing the risk of complications. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-care activities and blood pressure in type II DM patients at the BPJS Kesehatan Palangka Raya Prolanis Club. The research design uses correlation analysis with a cross-sectional approach; the research population is all members of the Prolanis Club BPJS Kesehatan Palangka Raya. The number of samples was as many as 35 people with the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire, The Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities Measure (SDSCA); the collected data was analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that as many as (51.4%) of diabetic patients had good self-care activity status, totaling 18 respondents. As many as 51.4% of respondents have normal blood pressure status. The statistical results of this study obtained p value = 0.028 (p <0.05), and r = 6.240, meaning that there is a relationship between self-care activities and blood pressure in type II DM patients. It means that the higher the self-care activity in diabetic patients, the blood pressure tends to be normal. Recommendations for further research are identifying the inhibiting factors in self-care activities for type II DM patients.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of four diseases that cause death worldwide. Central Kalimantan is in 23rd position out of 34 provinces for the incidence of Diabetes with a prevalence of 1.14%. One of the districts in Central Kalimantan, namely Pulang Pisau District, shows that the prevalence of DM exceeds the provincial prevalence, namely 1.20%. The data shows that many factors influence one of them is the level of public awareness of diabetes.The aim of this community service activity is to increase the community's self-awareness through education. The activity was carried out in Simpur Village, Jabiren Raya, Pulang Pisau Regency with a total of 30 participants. Activities are carried out by filling out a pretest questionnaire, health education and posttest. The results show an increase in DM Self Awareness in the community. The average self-awareness score before education was 66.73 and after education was 80.00. The statistical test results show that there is a significant difference in the average self-awareness score between before and after education with a p value of 0.005 and a mean difference of 13.27.With this activity, it is hoped that in the long term, people can increase their self-awareness of diabetes so that they can prevent the occurrence of diabetes or an increase in complications from diabetes mellitus.
