Abstract

The study aims to determine the chemical composition and digestibility of midrib palm leaves from bioconversion results. Solid bioconversion using white oyster mushroom inoculum as a starter. This study used a completely randomized design (RAL) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. As a treatment  the white oyster mushroom inoculum consisted of 6 levels, namely 0g (with inoculum), 5g, 10g, 15g, 20g and 25g kg-1 substrate. The variables measured are the chemical composition and digestibility of nipah leaf midrib fiber bioconversion products. The results showed that organic matter content, ADF digestibility and nipah leaf midrib cellulosa bioconversion results were significantly different (P<0.05) but the dry matter content, crude protein and NDF digestibility did not show significant differences (P>0.05) due to the levels of white oyster mushroom inoculum. The best digestibility occurred at the levels of white oyster mushroom inoculum 20g kg-1 substrate with acid digestibility fiber 27,31% and cellulose 31,08%. It can be concluded thah the level of white oyster mushroom inoculum 20g kg-1 substrate for nipah leaf midrib bioconversion results is the best.

Abstract

Compost fertilizer can overcome the problems found in red-yellow podzolic soil, namely the low availability of nutrients and less able to hold water. The purpose of this research was to prove the impact of composting on dry matter and organic matter digestibility of kumpai grass planted on red-yellow podzolic soil. The research design used was a randomized block design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 5 replications, namely K0 (control) = 0 Kg/4m2, K1 = 4 Kg/4m2, K2 = 8 Kg/4m2, K3 = 12 Kg/4m2. The observed variables were pH (degree of acidity) of the supernatant, dry matter digestibility (KcBK), and organic (KcBO). Based on the analysis variance or variance, it showed that the application of compost had no significant effect (P>0,05) on the pH value of the in vitro supernatant, but it had a very significant effect (P<0,01) on the dry matter and organic digestibility of kumpai grass. Based on Duncan’s real distance difference test, the compost treatment of 12 Kg/4m2, showed the highest dry matter and organic matter digestibility compared to the compost treatment of 0 Kg/4m2, 4 Kg/4m2, and 8 Kg/4m2, namely 43,04% and 44,32%.

Abstract

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (FMA) may help the plant for the provision and absorption of P element where as the availability is low in acid soils. Organic fertilizers will affect to the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. The purpose of this study was to find out and prove that improvements in ultisol fertility by giving FMA and organic fertilizer will affect the fiber content of kumpai grass. The experiment used a Randomized Block Design with five treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were consisted of: 1) FMA 0 g / pot + organic fertilizer 0%, 2) FMA 20 g / pot + organic fertilizer 50% cow dung, 3) FMA 20 g / po t+ 100% cow manure, 4) FMA 20 g / pot + 50% compost, and 5) FMA 20 g / pot + 100% compost. The observed variables were NDF, ADF, hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin content. The results showed that the treatment had significant effect on all observed variables. Abstract

Fungi mikoriza arbuskula (FMA) dapat membantu tanaman untuk penyediaan dan penyerapan unsur P yang rendah ketersediaannya pada tanah masam. Pupuk organik dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap sifat fisik, kimia dan biologis tanah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari dan mengetahui pengaruh FMA dan pupuk organik terhadap peningkatan hasil dan nilai nutrisi rumput kumpai di tanah masam podzolik merah kuning. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 5×3 dan ulangan tiga kali. Dua faktor sebagai perlakuan yaitu FMA dan pupuk organik. FMA terdiri dari tiga taraf: 0 g/pot, 10 g/pot dan 20 g/pot. Pupuk organik terdiri dari lima taraf: 0%, 50% pupuk kandang sapi, 100% pupuk kandangsapi, 50% pupuk kompos dan 100% pupuk kompos. Peubah yang diamati adalah panjang daun, lebar daun, panjang tanaman, jumlah anakan, jumlah daun, produksi bahan kering hijauan, berat kering akar, protein kasar, kandungan fosfor, kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organik in-vitro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian FMA dan pupuk organik berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0.01) terhadap semua peubah yang diamati. Sedangkan interaksi FMA dan pupuk organik berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap berat kering akar, protein kasar, kandungan fosfor dan kecernaan bahan organik.Kata kunci: Hymenache amplexicaulis (Rudge) Nees., fungi mikoriza arbuskula, pupuk organik, hasil dan nilai nutrisi.

Abstract

Bamboo woven handicraft is an activity that has long been carried out by a group of women from Bungo Tanjung village, Kerinci regency, Jambi province. However, this craft is not very developed and the resulting product lacks variety and productivity. This work, as an alternative source of income for the community to help the family economy. During the activity, a business group was formed under the name of the Joint Business Group (KUB) Setia woven bamboo crafts. During the implementation of this service activity, it appears that KUB Setia's woven bamboo handicraft business began to develop. This is due to the guidance and assistance of the service team, especially in producing more varied and quality woven products, coaching and expanding the marketing aspect of the product. Likewise, several partner group problems, including: limited equipment owned by partner groups, coloring, refining, product marketing, the service team has been able to assist. Coaching and mentoring of partner groups through the Jambi University Community Service (PPM) program. This activity is very beneficial for the business groups of craftsmen and people who care about woven bamboo crafts. So that it becomes an alternative source of income for partner groups, as well as to realize the tri dharma of higher education through a network of cooperation between related parties. The output of this activity is in the form of woven bamboo handicraft products with more variety and quality, development in terms of marketing. The method of implementing the activities uses a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach with institutional implementation with a collective action approach.

Abstract

Pembinaan dan pendampingan kelompok mitra melalui program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PPM) Universitas Jambi. Kegiatan ini, sangat bermanfaat bagi kelompok usaha pengrajin dan masyarakat yang peduli dengan kerajinan anyaman bambu. Sehingga menjadi sumber pendapatan alternatif bagi kelompok mitra, juga untuk mewujudkan tri dharma perguruan tinggi melalui jaringan kerjasama antara pihak terkait. Luaran dari kegiatan ini berupa produk kerajinan tangan anyaman bambu yang lebih variasi dan berkualitas, berkembangnya segi pemasaran. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) dengan implementasi secara kelembagaan dengan pendekatan aksi kolektif (collective action).

Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari penggunaan pupuk kompos terhadap hasil komulatif bahan kering, kandungan protein kasar, serat kasar, dan abu rumput Kumpai (Hymenachne amplixicaulis (Rudge) Nees.) ditanah Podzolik Merah Kuning (PMK). Penelitian dilaksanakan selama ± 4 bulan dari persiapan bahan sampai dengan analisis di Laboratorium Budidaya Ternak dan Hijaun Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Jambi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam rancangan acak kelompok (RAK), dengan 4 perlakauan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari K0 = 0 ton/ha, K1 = 50 ton/ha, K2 = 100 ton/ha, K3 = 150 ton/ha. Peubah yang diamati adalah hasil komulatif bahan kering, protein kasar, serat kasar, dan  abu. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan hasil penambahan pupuk kompos berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap hasil komulatif bahan kering, kadar abu dan kandungan protein kasar, dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P<0,05) terhadap serat kasar. Dari Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan pemberian pupuk kompos pelepah sawit K3 12,00 kg/petak menghasilkan hasil komulatif bahan kering terbaik (70,58 kg/petak), abu (24,89%), dan protein kasar 15,17%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan pupuk kompos dan mendapatkan dosis terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bahan kering rumput kumpai (hymenachne amplexicaulis (rudge) Nees) di tanah ultisol. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dilahan Laboratorium Budidaya Ternak dan Hijauan  serta Laboratorium Analisis Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Jambi. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah dosis pupuk kompos K0= 0 Kg/petak, K1= 4 Kg/petak, K2= 8 Kg/petak, K3= 12 Kg/petak. Peubah yang diamati pada penelitian ini meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, hasil bahan kering hijauan, dan berat bahan kering akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kompos berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap panjang tanaman dan jumlah anakan serta berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap hasil bahan kering hijauan, dan berat kering akar.  Hasil terbaik yaitu pada perlakuan K3 dengan dosis pemberian pupuk kompos (30 Ton/ha atau setara dengan  12   Kg kompos/petak) mampu menghasilkan panjang tanaman 84,77 cm/petak,  kemudian jumlah anakan sebanyak 236,80 anakan/petak, lalu , hasil komulatif bahan kering hijauan sebesar 5,678 kg/petak, dan bahan kering akar sebesar 214 g/rumpun.
