Abstract

Indonesia as a country with the largest tropical climate in the world after Brazil, from 27 percent of the tropical zones in the world, Indonesia has 11 percent of tropical areas, including South Sulawesi which is a coffee-producing area which has an area of 690,283 hectares (ha) consisting of People's Plantations 656,067 ha. (95%), Private Basar plantations 19,077 (2.8%), State Large Plantations 15,139 ha (2.2%), South Sulawesi coffee producing areas, especially in Bantaeng spread across Tompo Bulu District. Most of the coffee in Bantaeng is grown in a mixed garden system. However, the drying process has a relatively long time span, so that the coffee harvest has a low level of dryness and the selling price is also not optimal. From these problems, the authors compare the temperature in the dryer with the greenhouse effect system and traditional drying, which is 10% - 30% degrees Celsius hotter using the greenhouse effect. For the efficiency level, the drying time between the greenhouse effect system and traditional drying is about 5-12 days faster using the greenhouse effect drying system.

Abstract

The amount of heat energy wasted on the furnace wall is of concern to researchers who are trying to utilize the heat energy wasted from a furnace wall as a generator or source of electricity. The waste heat from the combustion in the furnace can now be used as a source of electricity. The waste heat is converted into electricity using a thermoelectric generator, the TEG generator is an electrical generator device that converts heat (temperature difference) directly into electrical energy. In this research, the heat used is the cylindrical wall of the furnace with variations in the size of the pump that flows the coolant to the waterblock, to determine the efficiency and magnitude of the power pump used to cool the hot side of the TEG, which produces a high temperature difference and also produces large electrical energy. thermoelectric generator module reused 4 pieces SP1848 27145 SA module.

Abstract

Metal cutting is the stage of processing profile raw materials and steel plates according to the cut marks that have been set in the marking process. One of the metal cutting techniques is to use oxy acetylene welding where the cutting occurs due to the reaction of oxygen and steel. Oxy acetylene welding is a manual cutting and welding process, in which the surfaces to be joined are heated until melted by the flame of acetylene gas, namely burning C₂H₂ with O₂ with filler metal or without filler metal where the joining process is without pressure. Besides for welding purposes (connection), oxy acetylene welding can also be used as preheating, brazing, cutting and hard facing. In the process of cutting iron pipes using oxy acetylene welding manually, the problem that is often found is the results of uneven and not straight cuts. This causes a leveling process to be needed on the edges that are cut so that they are flat and straight. In this research, a pipe cutting machine with oxy acetylene welding has been made which aims to produce straight, smooth, and even pipe cutting. The pipe cutting machine that has been made can produce flat, smooth, and straight iron pipe cuts on iron pipes with a diameter of 4.5 inches, 3.5 inches and 3 inches with a cutting time of 32 seconds, a motor wave rotation speed of 5.8 Hz, and a cut tolerance of ± 3 mm.

Abstract

Laboratorium merupakan tempat dan fasilitas untuk kegiatan pelatihan kemampuan serta pengetahuan di bidang kompetensinya. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi budaya 5S dari penerapannya 5S di laboratorium, Kaizen atau 5S merupakan proses perbaikan terus-menerus, sehingga perlu Penerapan budaya 5S di lingkungan laboratorium merupakan faktor utama keberhasilan implementasi budaya Kaizen di laboratorium. Selain itu, kerja tim dan pemahaman budaya 5S dapat mendukung kelancaran penerapan budaya Kaizen di laboratorium. Menurut hasil penelitian literatur dan pilot investigation, diantara 22 faktor tersebut, faktor yang mengetahui Motivasi dosen/PLP/mahasiswa dalam menerapkan budaya Kaizen kondisi penerapan budaya 5S di laboratorium memiliki responden yang paling tinggi, dengan nilai rata-rata 2,18 dan standar deviasi 0,82632. Nilai rata-rata faktor Kinerja yang berhubungan dengan imbalan / pengakuan / penilaian paling kecil yaitu 1,98 dan standar deviasi 0,78341, yang menunjukkan bahwa faktor ini paling kecil pengaruhnya terhadap budaya 5S laboratorium. Dari penerapan budaya kaizen, budaya kaizen berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai dan komitmen organisasi pada Politeknik Industri Logam Institut Morowali.

Abstract

Higher education has an important role in the Tri Darma, namely participating in truly educating the lives of the nation and state in society. One step is to make humans no longer objects of development but subjects of development. As a development subject, abilities and skills in mastering science and technology are certainly required. The use of welding technology has developed and is widely used and exploited in the wider community, especially in meeting industrial needs. One of the welding methods is Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), namely welding using an electric arc. The aim of this activity is to increase the welding competency of Bungku Mining Vocational School students by adding special skills in the form of SMAW welding and providing encouragement and assistance so that Bungku Mining Vocational School students are able to provide welding equipment that supports learning in the laboratory. The benefit of this activity is to provide knowledge and train skills in SMAW welding so that it can be used to develop laboratory facilities.
