Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan penerapan strategi pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan pictorial mathematics dan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori dalam materi Kerucut terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas IX MTs Negeri 1 Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan rancangan The Non Equivalen Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 52 siswa. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh persentase ketuntasan siswa di kelas eksperimen sebesar 60%, akan tetapi ketuntasan secara klasikal belum tercapai yaitu sebesar 75%. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan strategi pembelajaran Inkuiri berbantuan Pictorial Mathematics dan siswa yang diajarkan dengan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori pada materi Kerucut, dimana diperoleh thitung > ttabel atau (6,04 > 2,012). Besar pengaruh strateegi pembelajaran Inkuiri berbantuan Pictorial Mathematics terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas IX MTs Negeri 1 pontianak adalah sebesar 0,41. Nilai effect size tersebut menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas strateegi pembelajaran Inkuiri berbantuan Pictorial Mathematics termasuk kategori sedang. Dengan demikian dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa Strategi Pembelajaran Inkuiri berbantuan Pictorial Mathematics lebih dapat meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran siswa dibandingkan dengan penerapan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori.   Kata Kunci : Strategi Pembelajaran Inkuiri, Pictorial Mathematics Abstract: This research was conducted to compare the application of inquiry learning strategy based on the pictorial mathematics and the expository learning strategy in dealing with the cone materials on the ninth-grade students’ learning outputs of MTS Negeri 1, Pontianak. The resarch method employed in this research was quasi- experimental design by using Non Equivalentt Pretest-Posttest Design. The students sampled added up to 52 students. From the analysis of data it was obtained that 60% . However, 75% of the  materials have not been classically completed yet. There is a significant difference between the average learning outcomes of the students who are taught with the inquiry learning strategies by means of the Pictorial Mathematics and those who were taught with the expository learning strategy by using cone material,and the outputs obtained from t > t table or (6.04 > 2.012). there was a great influence of the inquiry learning strategy by using Pictorial Mathematics on the ninth-grade students’ learning outputs of  MTs Negeri 1 Pontianak and the ouput obtained was 1 by 0.41. the Value of the effect size showed that effectivity of the inquiry learning strategy based on the Pictorial Mathematics was put into the “on average” category. Hence, it can be concluded that the inquiry learning strategy based on the Pictorial Mathematics can improve the outputs of the students’ learning in comparison with the expository learning strategy.   Key words :Inquiry learning strategy, Pictorial Mathematics
