Abstract

Penelitian evalusi nilai nutrisi pakan ayam ras petelur di Pulau Lombok telah dilakukan. Penelitian menggunakan metode survey yang berlokasi di empat Kabupaten di Pulau Lombok yaitu Kabupaten Lombok Barat, Lombok Tengah, Lombok Timur dan Lombok Utara. Pada masing-masing Kabupaten diambil 4 peternak ayam ras sebagai sampel  dan dianalisa di Laboratorium Nutrisi Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Mataram. Data dianalisa dan ditabulasi kemudian dipresentasikan dalam bentuk diskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua peternak ayam ras petelur menggunakan jagung, dedak padi, dan konsentrat sebagai ransum dasar berturut-turut sebesar 43 %±8.13, 22%±3.93, dan 33%±4,83. Campuran pakan tersebut mengandungan protein sebesar 17.21% ±1.23, energi metabolis 2753 ± 63.78, lemak kasar dan serat kasar sebesar 4.03% ±0,2  dan 6.29 % ±0.46, Ca dan P sebesar 3.61% ±0.53 dan 0.51% ±0.03. Rata-rata produksi telur, konsumsi pakan, bobot telur, tebal kerabang dan nilai HU ayam ras di Pulau Lombok berturut-turut sebesar 56%±8.68, 114±31,25 g.ekor-1.hari-1. 61.71±2.49 g. 0.39±0.03 mm dan 90.16±4.33.  Komposisi nutrisi ayam ras petelur tersebut sudah memenuhi Standar Nasioanal Indonesia (SNI), akan tetapi produksi telur masih rendah.Kata Kunci : Mineral, konsentrat, Vitamin ABSTRACT The research of evaluation of nutrient value of laying hens which rearing by farmer in Lombok Island was conducted. Using surveys methode in four locations in Lombok Island i.e. West Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok, and North Lombok and four farmers sample of each. Data was analyzed in loboratorium animal nutrition Faculty of Animal Husbandry Mataram University. Data was analized and tabulated and than descriptive presented. The result show that, all of the farmer in Lombok Island use rice bran, maize, and commercial feed as elementary ration with 43%±8.13, 22%±3.93, and 33%±4.83 respectively, in addition, all farmers use feed supplements such as vitamins or mineral. Nutrition value of ration are 17.21% ±1.23 protein, 2753±63.78 metabolizeble energy, 4.03% ±0,2  extract ether and  6.29%±0,46 fibers, Ca and P are 3.61 % ±0.53 and 0.51%±0.03. Average eggs production, feed consumption, egg weight, shell thickness, and Haught Unit (HU) are 56%±8.68, 114±31,25 g.ekor-1.hari-1. 61.71±2.49 g, 0.39±0.03 mm, and 90.16 ±4.33. It can be concluded that nutrient composition of laying hens in Lombok Island according to Indonesian Standard Feed, however, eggs production and quality still low.Key words: Vitamine, concentrate, nutrient

Abstract

Research on the evaluation of the spermatozoa quality of Brahma, Cochin and Bangkok chickens as the basis for the application of artificial insemination technology in native chickens has been carried out. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the spermatozoa quality of Brahma, Cochin and Bangkok rooster as the basis for determining the spermatozoa dose for artificial insemination in local chickens. method research was used a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments, that is: Brahma, Cochin and Bangkok rooster. Each treatment was repeated five times. Cement storage is carried out by inserting an artificial vagina into the cloaca of the rooster and stimulating it to climb the hen. The collected sperm were analyzed at the Animal Reproduction Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, Mataram University. The variables observed included motility, viability and morphology of spermatozoa. The results of studied that the spermatozoa motility of Brahma, Chicin and Bangkok rooster were 72 ± 2.74%. 74 ± 2.24% and 73 ± 2.74% (P> 0.05) respectively; The spermatozoan viability of Brahma rooster and Bangkok rooster was 99.2 ± 1.30%, 99.4 ± 0.55% and 99.2 ± 1.10% (P>0.05)respectively. The spermatozoan morphology of brahma rooster, chicin rooster and Bangkok rooster was 94.6 ± 2.30%, 94.4 ± 2.70% and 97.4 ± 2.07% (P> 0.05), respectively. Cochin rooster and Bangkok rooster respectively, 62.6 ± 7.92 x 107, 57 ± 5.83 x107 , and 65.2 ± 12.28 x107, respectively. The results of the study concluded that Brahma, Cochin and Bangkok rooster had good sperm quality and could be able to used in artificial insemination of Kampung hens.

Abstract

The extension activity aimed to improve the duck farmer skills in duck farming system in Candi Manik village, Sekotong Sub-District, West Lombok District. The activity was successfully conducted due to collaboration among several parties, including village officials, KKN student of University of Mataram, and lecturers of Faculty of Animal Science University of Mataram.  The activity was carried out using talk and discussion methods. All of the invited participants attended the activity until the end. The whole activity ran smoothly and in orderly manner. Materials presented during the activity were needed by the participants, especially the duck farmers. Thus, it can be concluded that, the extension activity was a success as it met the planned targets and objectives. Materials given were: breeding, feed and feeding, menegement of rearing sytem, disease and disease contole, and post-harvest handling management. All of the participants attended the extension activity until the end. The whole extension activities consisting of discussions, questions and answers sessions took place in an orderly manner. The discussed extension topics were material needed by participants, especially for duck farmers. Thus it can be concluded that the material provided can improve duck farming skills of the participants in order to increase egg production as salted egg raw materials

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola penanganan dan pemotongan ayam broiler di kota Mataram dan sekitarnya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode surve dan wawancara mendalam serta melakukan pengamatan langsung ke tempat usaha. Sebagai sumber data adalah peternak, pengepul, dan pemotong yang tersebar di kota Mataram dan sekitarnya. Penentuan sampel menggunakan metode Nonprobability Sampling, dengan penentuan peternak dan pengepul menggunakan metode Sampling Insidental, sedangkan penentuan sampel RPA menggunakan metode Snowball Sampling. Peubah yang diamati adalah: a). Karakteristik responden, b). Penanganan di ahir masa pemeliharaan, c). Pola penangkapan dan pemindahan ke boks dan kendaraan angkut, d). Waktu pengangkutan, e) Lama dan jarak pengangkutan, f). Penanganan ayam saat pemindahan dari kendaraan angkut ke tempat karantina, g). Perlakuan pengistirahatan, h). Pelaksanaan penyembelihan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa proses penangkapan dan pengangkutan ayam broiler dari peternak ke tempat pemotongan ayam (TPA) tidak dijumpai adanya pelanggaran Animal welfare, namun ada indikasi pelanggaran di proses pencelupan di air panas setelah penyembelihan. Proses penyembelihan masih belum mengikuti prosudur baku yang ditetapkan oleh Direktorat Kesmavet dan Pasca Panen, dan BSNI, namun sudah mengikuti prosudur baku yang ditetapkan oleh Majelis Ulama Indonesia, sehingga produk yang dihasilkan tergolong daging halal.Handling of Broiler Before and After Slaughter: Study of Broiler Meat Processing in Mataram City and its SurroundingsABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the pattern of handling and slaughtering broiler chickens in the city of Mataram and its surroundings. The study was conducted using survey methods and in-depth interviews and direct observations of the place of business. Data were collected from farmesr, distributors, and butchers in the city of Mataram and its surroundings. The samples were determined using the Nonprobability Sampling method. Farmer and distributor were determined using the Incidental Sampling method, while the RPA samples were determined using the Snowball Sampling method. The observed variables were: a). Characteristics of respondents,  b). Handling at the end of the rearing period, c). The pattern of catching and transferring of the chickens to boxes and transport vehicles, d). Time of transportation, e) Length and distance of transportation, f). Handling of chickens when moved from transport vehicles to quarantine facilities, g). Rest treatment, h). Slaughter implementation. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the process of catching and transporting broiler chickens from farmer to chicken slaughterhouses did not violate animal wefare, but there were violation indications when the chickens were put in hot water after slaughtering. The slaughtering process still does not follow the standard procedure set by the Directorate of Veterinary Public Health and Post-Harvest, and BSNI, but has followed the standard procedure set by the Indonesian Ulama Council, so the final product is classified as halal meat.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan sifat kualitatif ayam Arab yang dipelihara sebagai penghasil telur.Penelitian dilakukan dengan pengamatan pada peternakan ayam Arab di desa Beber Kecamatan Mantang Lombok Tengah. Penentuan sampel peternak dilakukan dengan metode purpusive random dengan kreteria memelihara ayam Arab fase bertelur dalam kandang litter. Peubah yang diamati adalah warna bulu, warna paruh, warna kulit, warna shank dan bentuk jengger. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa ayam Arab yang diamati mempunyai 2 warna bulu, yaitu warna silver dan gold. Terjadi penambahan warna paruh putih, yang semula hanya berwarna hitam, menjadi hitam dan putih. Hasil penelitian juga mendapatkan bentuk jengger pea, dari semula hanya berbentuk tunggal.
