Abstract

Limbasari Village is geographically located in Bobotsari Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency. Limbasari Village is one of the new tourism villages in Purbalingga Regency. This village has great potential to be developed as a tourist destination in terms of earth tourism and geoheritage. The tourist attractions are River Tubing, mountainous volcanic mountain landscape with green jasper stone "nogo sui", and prehistoric cultural sites. In addition, the cultural and historical uniqueness of the community is also an attraction for urban communities. The purpose of this study is to review the potential of Geotourism and geoheritage in the Village of Limbasari as a solution to how to utilize the rich geological and cultural sites along with various dynamics for educational activities that are environmentally friendly education and economy. The method used in this study is the mapping of geological potential as a tourist area, an inventory of locations that have cultural and historical reserves as well as interviews with relevant parties and literature studies. From the results of research in the tourist area Limbasari has a feasibility value between 47.5% - 73.5%. Thus, the Limbasari Tourism Village Area, Purbalingga Regency deserves to be a geotourism object with the assessment aspect based on the quantification value of various beauties between nature and the geological process that controls the formation of the geotourism object.

Abstract

ABSTRACT - Facies and depositional environment of Kanikeh Formation, Bula Basin, Maluku. The Triassic siliciclastic rocks, Kanikeh Formation are spread across Seram, Kesui, and Teor Island from Molucca to Southeast Molucca. The Kanikeh formation has been known as an excellent source rock. However, its interpretation of the depositional environment and stratigraphic correlation are still poorly understood. This study aims to give a better understanding of the depositional environment. This study consists of Lithofacies descriptions and facies associations of four stratigraphy measuring sections in Eastern Seram Island. The results of this study indicate that there are 9 lithofacies, including conglomeratic sandstone (Sc); Through cross bed sandstone (Sp); Bioturbated sandstone (Sb); Carboniferous sandstone (Sc); Wavy Sandstone (Sw); Flasser Sandstone (Sf); parallel laminated sandstone (Sh); lenticular mudstone (Fl); dan laminated mudstone (Fsc). The lithofacies description is included in four facies associations which are included in a tidal deposition system (intertidal) there are tidal channels, tidal sand flat, tidal sand-mud mixed flat, dan tidal mudflat. Based on the results Kanikeh Formation is deposited with a siliciclastic deposition system influenced by tidal currents within transition deposition environments.

Abstract

This study undertakes a comprehensive analysis of the geological conditions within a specific region, with a dual objective. Firstly, it aims to detail the geophysical attributes, structural aspects, and formation processes of the region. Secondly, it strives to establish a connection between the provenance, or origin, of the sedimentary materials in the region and its geological characteristics. The primary subjects of the research are the Waturanda and Penosogan Formations. These formations were selected due to their unique geological properties that offer insights into the geological history of the region. The primary method employed in the study was petrographic analysis. This technique, involving a microscopic examination of rocks, facilitated a detailed investigation into the rock samples from both formations, highlighting their mineralogical constitution and overall textures. The study also involved a thorough examination of the original rock or parent material of the Waturanda and Penosogan Formations. This analysis provided important information about their inherent geological attributes and formation processes. One of the key findings was the identification of the tectonic environment in which these formations were developed. The study revealed that the tectonic setting was a magmatic arc, specifically a dissected arc. This significant insight into the geological conditions has profound implications for understanding the geological evolution and history of the region, thereby enriching our knowledge of Earth's dynamic geological processes.
