Abstract

The role of the agricultural sector in the regional development of Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of the agricultural sector in regional development in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province. The data in this study were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Simalungun Regency and the Central Statistics Agency of North Sumatra Province from 2015-2019. The results showed that based on the value of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB), it can be seen from the economic growth in the region. When viewed from the PDRB of Simalungun Regency in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors, it has the potential to be developed. The GDP contribution of the fisheries sector was 48.67 percent with a growth rate of 7.32. Based on the results of the LQ analysis, the agricultural sector in Simalungun Regency is a basic or superior sector with a contribution of 3.44 followed by Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling of 1.12 and Wholesale and Retail Trade, and Car and Motorcycle Repair 1.09. As for the crop and vegetable horticulture agricultural sector commodity that contributed, namely cabbage with a harvest area of 2,406 hectares (21.50%). Of the food crops, namely lowland rice and oil palm, are plantation commodities with the highest production reaching 555,551 tons (97.76%).

Abstract

The purpose of the study in general is to determine the factors that affect the growth of broiler business in the eastern zone of Jambi Province. These factors are focused on internal factors, namely the internal factors of individuals and internal factors of business. The objectives of the research are 1) to identify the internal factors of the individual that influence the growth of the business 2) to identify the internal factors of the individual business affecting the growth of the business and 3) to analyze the influence of internal factors of internal factors and internal factors on business growth. The research was conducted by survey method. Analysis and Data Processing using Stuctural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Smart Patial Least Square (Smart-PLS 2.0). The results showed that innovation, risk taking, and production power are internal factors of individual and internal business that affect business growth. Both factors are known to be significant and positively affect business growth. This study also found that business growth is influenced by internal factors of individual and internal business indirectly, that is through a series of entrepreneurial activities undertaken by farmers. Both have a positive relationship, meaning that the diversity of the growth of broiler farming business in Jambi Province occurs because of the encouragement of entrepreneurship activities of farmers, driven by internal factors of individuals and internal factors of business.

Abstract

Balunijuk Village is a production center for horticultural products in Bangka Regency, and the majority of its people work as farmers. This service activity aims to provide assistance in implementing the LEISA system, encouraging the scale up of its products, and increasing the entrepreneurial capacity of millennial farmers in the Taruna mandiri farmer group through mastery of technology. The activity was carried out in Balunjuk Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency, Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province. The service activities carried out went through 6 (six) stages of activities, namely polyculture techniques, training in making liquid organic fertilizer (POC), training in making animal feed, duck and fish farming, socialization and promotion activities. The results of the application of the LEISA technology package by combining polyculture vegetable cultivation techniques, duck farming and intensive mentoring. Through this community empowerment program, we can reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides that endanger health and damage the environment. The use of chemical fertilizers can be replaced with compost, liquid organic fertilizer (POC), while chemical pesticides can be replaced with vegetable pesticides. The socialization activities were carried out using presentation methods and interactive discussions that contained all questions and positive responses from the guests/audience.

Abstract

Marketing strategy development is one of the important elements that must be possessed by every Small and Medium Industry (IKM). The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the income of IKM "Bahek Ewaki" to decrease. This study aims to determine the difference in profits before and during the Covid-19 pandemic and analyze the marketing strategy during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is a case study. Differences in profits before and during the Covid-19 pandemic were analyzed by Wilcoxon analysis. The marketing strategy for processed seafood souvenirs was analyzed using SWOT and followed by QSPM analysis. The results of the study show that business profits before and during the Covid-19 pandemic were significantly different, namely, a decrease of 37%. The results of the SWOT analysis recommend that IKM "Bahek Ewaki" carry out a growth oriented strategy. The priority strategies based on the QSPM matrix are: (1) providing affordable prices and increasing promotions with the highest TAS score of 7.54; (2) maintain and improve the quality of products and services with a TAS score of 7.51; (3) maintaining cooperation with suppliers or competitors with a score of 7.5; (4) maximize strategic location and facilities with a score of 7.48. During the Covid-19 pandemic, IKM "Bahek Ewaki" should increase sales volume online through online media.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini secara khusus adalah untuk memberdayakan peternak dalam pemanfaatan potensi limbah, melalui penguasaan teknologi dan ilmu pengetahuan (IPTEK), agar penerapan usahatani berbasis sistem integrasi sapi kelapa sawit semakin menguntungkan. Tujuan umum dari kegiatan pengabdian ini untuk mengajak kelompok menerapkan pertanian ramah lingungan atau Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) dalam penerapan program sistem integrasi sapi kelapa sawit di kabupaten Bangka tengah. Target luaran dari kegiatan pengabdian diantaranya 1) Adanya perubahan perilaku peternak menerapkan teknologi probio_FM dalam pengolahan biourin 2) limbah urin sapi diolah menjadi biourin dan tidak ada limbah urin yang terbuang. upaya yang dilakukan adalah dengan memberi penyuluhan dan pengenalan teknologi probio_FM, pelatihan pembuatan biourin berbasis probio_FM, pendampingan selama proses fermentasi produk, pendampingan dalam pengemasan produk, pendampingan pada proses aplikasi produk pada tanaman tomat. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukan bahwa peternak sepakat mau dan mampu untuk mengolah limbah dengan menggunakan tekologi probio_FM. pelatihan pembuatan biourin menghasilkan 12 peternak trampil dalam memproduksi biourin berbasis probio_FM

Abstract

Permasalahan yang sering dijumpai di desa Pagarawan adalah kurangnya pemanfaatan terhadap penggunaan lahan pekarangan warga untuk dijadikan sebagai lahan hijau. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah: (1) Melakukan pemanfaatan lahan kosong warga lebih berdaya guna dalam mewujudkan lingkungan sehat dan hijau, (2) Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan menjadi nilai ekonomis bagi pendapatan rumah tangga. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan kepada kelompok ibu-ibu Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) dan ibu-ibu PKK di Desa Pagarawan, Kecamatan Merawang, Kabupaten Bangka, Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung pada bulan Juli sampai Agustus 2020. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai kegiatan ini adalah metode FGD (Foccus Discussion Group) dan demontrasi langsung. Dampak dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah: (1) Terciptanya kesadaran masyarakat akan lingkungan sehat dan hijau, (2) Peningkatan pengetahuan untuk memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan yang tidak terpakai
