The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship of personal characteristics on the entrepreneurial behavior and factors affecting the business performance of prawn crackers women entrepreneurs in Jambi Province. This study was conducted using a survey in two regencies in the Jambi Province. The method of analysis used in the study is Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The results shows i) training, business experience, education, and family background positively significant affect to the entrepreneurial behavior (including motivation, innovation and risk taking decision); ii) business performance is influenced by personal characteristics, entrepreneurial behavior, internal environment and the external environment. Personal characteristic of women entrepreneur on prawn crackers business in Jambi Province is the most influence factor on woman business performance.

The agricultural sector in the highlands of North Sumatra is the main sector of economic support for the people in the area. Although some sub-sectors have not shown significant improvement in the economy. For this reason, researchers are interested in analyzing each basic or superior sub-sector, so that policies can be taken to solve existing problems. The purpose of this study was to analyze the superior commodities of the upland agricultural sector in North Sumatra. The data used in the secondary data is obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2019 covering the food crop sub-sector, the vegetable and fruit horticulture sub-sector, the livestock sub-sector, the plantation sub-sector. To answer the research questions, LQ analysis is used to determine superior commodities. The results showed that the food crop sub-sector in the highlands was a superior commodity with LQ = 1.62. The vegetable and fruit horticultural sub-sector is included in the basic or superior category with each value (1.13), (1.80). The plantation sub-sector has the greatest LQ value with an LQ value of 2.90. So it can be concluded that upland agricultural commodities in North Sumatra are generally the base agricultural sector.

The role of the agricultural sector in the regional development of Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of the agricultural sector in regional development in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province. The data in this study were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Simalungun Regency and the Central Statistics Agency of North Sumatra Province from 2015-2019. The results showed that based on the value of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB), it can be seen from the economic growth in the region. When viewed from the PDRB of Simalungun Regency in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors, it has the potential to be developed. The GDP contribution of the fisheries sector was 48.67 percent with a growth rate of 7.32. Based on the results of the LQ analysis, the agricultural sector in Simalungun Regency is a basic or superior sector with a contribution of 3.44 followed by Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling of 1.12 and Wholesale and Retail Trade, and Car and Motorcycle Repair 1.09. As for the crop and vegetable horticulture agricultural sector commodity that contributed, namely cabbage with a harvest area of 2,406 hectares (21.50%). Of the food crops, namely lowland rice and oil palm, are plantation commodities with the highest production reaching 555,551 tons (97.76%).

The purpose of this study was to analyze income and the factors that influence the production of lowland rice farming in Deli Serdang Regency. The number of respondents of rice farmers in as many as 120 people. While the method used is the analysis of the Cobb-Douglas production function which is then converted into an inferential Principal Component Analysis (PCA) analysis, technical efficiency analysis with the stochastic frontier. The results showed that the factors of land area (X1), number of workers (X2), use of fertilizers (X3), pesticides (X4), and seeds (X5) had a significant effect on the production of lowland rice farming in Deli Serdang Regency. The results of the t test show that partially the factors that affect the production of land area, seeds, fertilizers, and labor have a significant effect on the productivity of lowland rice farming in Deli Serdang Regency. In the analysis of rice farming income in Meintang Market and Lubuk Pakam, Deli Serdang Regency, the total variable costs were Rp. 6,196.756, total fixed costs were Rp. 289.485. So that the level of income obtained by respondent farmers is Rp. 13,200,199.

Entrepreneurship is a very important element in development, including in agriculture. One of the agriculture subjects that must have entrepreneurship characteristics to be able to encourage the improvement of farm performance is the farmer. The farmers in Tigapanah Sub-district, Karo District are farmers who are able to survive in performing coffee farming activities within various risks. The aim of this study was to analyze the cennection between entrepreneurship characteristics of Arabica coffee farmers in Tigapanah District to the farming performance. The method of sampling respondents was determined by the simple random sampling which involved 850 Arabica coffee farmers. The farmers in this study were 5% of the total respondents, which approximately 43 people. Based on the correlation analysis of Spearman Rank, on SPSS 20 was used to analyze the relationship between entrepreneurship characteristics to the farming performance. Based on the correlation analysis Spearman’s Rank, the results obtained that there was a positive and significant correlation between the characteristics of entrepreneurship with the performance of Arabica coffee farming. Positive and significant correlations were described by risk-taking, self-confident, task-and-outcome-oriented variables, leadership, future oriented and hard work towards the performance of Arabica coffee farming, which are market share, sales quantity, and income.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis peranan sektor pertanian dalam pembangunan wilayah di Kabupaten Simalungun Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik Kabupaten Simalungun dan Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi Sumatera Utara dari tahun 2015-2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berdasarkan Nilai Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) dapat dilihat dari pertumbuhan ekonomi pada wilayah tersebut. Jika dilihat dari PDRB Kabupaten Simalungun pada sektor pertanian, kehutanan dan perikanan memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan. Kontribusi PDRB sektor perikanan sebesar 48,67 persen dengan laju pertumbuhan sebesar 7,32. Berdasarkan hasil analisis LQ pada sektor pertanian di Kabupaten Simalungun merupakan sektor basis atau unggul dengan sumbangan sebesar 3,44 diikuti oleh Pengadaan Air, Pengelolaan Sampah, Limbah dan Daur Ulang sebesar 1,12 dan Perdagangan Besar dan Eceran, dan Reparasi Mobil dan Sepeda Motor sebesar 1,09. Adapun komoditas sektor pertanian holtikultura tanaman dan sayuran yang memberikan kontribusi yaitu kubis dengan luas panen mencapai 2.406 hektar (21,50%). Dari tanaman pangan yaitu padi sawah dan Kelapa sawit merupakan komoditas perkebunan dengan produksi tertinggi mencapai 555.551 ton (97,76%). Peningkatan konsumsi ikan lele menjadi peluang bagi pembudidaya ikan untuk dapat mengembangkan usahanya. Peluang yang ada harus diikuti oleh peningkatan kompetensi pembudidaya ikan lele. Peningkatan kompetensi harus didukung oleh ketersediaan input output produksi perikanan dan penyuluhan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh dukungan output input produksi dan dukungan penyuluhan terhadap kompetensi pembudidaya ikan lele di Kecamatan Tebing Tinggi Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2019 hingga bulan Juli 2019 di Kecamatan Tebing Tinggi. Data yang digunakan diperoleh dari hasil wawancara menggunakan daftar kuesioner. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 60 responden pembudidaya ikan yang dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan software Smart PLS (Partial Least Square) versi 3.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dukungan output input dan dukungan penyuluhan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kompetensi pembudidaya ikan lele.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor eksternal terhadap faktor internal wanita wirausaha, untuk mengetahui pengaruh faktor eksternal dan faktor internal terhadap kinerja usaha wanita wirausaha kerupuk udang di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur Jambi. Jumlah responden yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 58 orang wanita wirausaha. Penentuan sampel yaitu dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuisoner kemudian dilakukan pengolahan data menggunakan Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) versi 3.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa faktor eksternal berpengaruh signifikan terhadap faktor internal. Variabel aspek kebijakan pemerintah memiliki pengaruh dominan terhadap peningkatan faktor internal wanita wirausaha. Faktor internal yang meliputi aspek sumber daya manusia, aspek keuangan, aspek produksi dan operasional serta aspek pemasaran mempunyai pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja usaha wanita wirausaha di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur 62%.
