Abstract

Kata Kunci: Bencana, Deteksi Dini, Kuisioner PLC C, Trauma, Pelatihan  ABSTRACT Banjar Regency was listed as the area most affected by flooding in South Kalimantan in early 2021 and the West Martapura District was the sub-district area that suffered the most damage. Children are the most vulnerable group of people to experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to floods, so they need to get serious treatment so that the consequences are not prolonged and hamper their development. There is a simple PTSD early detection method using a questionnaire instrument that can be done by ordinary people so that the symptoms of PTSD in children can be immediately recognized by the family and immediately treated according to the severity level. For this, service activities were carried out in the form of training on how to detect PTSD early using the PTSD PLC C questionnaire with the participants being parents/guardians of children from several PAUD school representatives and POSYANDU cadres in the West Martapura area as many as 50 people. From the results of the pretest and posttest scores given before and after the training, there was a significant difference (p=0.00) regarding the participants' understanding of the importance of early detection of trauma conditions due to flooding in their family members. Based on the results of the activity, it can be said that the training activities were able to make the participants increase the knowledge and skills and awareness of parents about the importance of maintaining mental health in their families due to post-flood trauma in South Kalimantan. Keywords: Disaster, Early Detection, PLC C Questionnaire, Trauma, Training

Abstract

Background: Karamunting leaf is a wetland herb with antioxidant compounds that bind free radicals, reduce oxidative stress, reduce insulin resistance, and prevent the development of pancreatic cell dysfunction and damage. Objective: This study aims to prove the antidiabetic potential of the karamunting leaves ethanolic extract in treating diabetes in white male rats. Methods: This study used a true experimental with a pre-test and post-test control group design. Thirty rats were divided into four groups (control: C, ethanol extract of karamunting dose of 100 mg: P1, 200 mg: P2, and 400 mg: P3). Data on fasting blood glucose levels were taken before (pre-test) and after treatment (post-test). Data on pancreatic islets histomorphological changes (size, number, constituent cells) were analysed quantitatively. Fasting blood glucose levels were analysed using paired t-test, while the histomorphological data of the pancreatic islets were analysed using ANOVA. The data were considered significant if the p-value <0.05 (95% CI).Results: Karamunting leaf ethanol extract treatment reduced fasting blood glucose levels in diabetic rats. A 200 mg/kgBW was demonstrated as the most effective dose that improves the islets and cells number compiles the pancreatic islets, potentially treating diabetes mellitus (DM).Conclusion: Karamunting leaf ethanol extract potential as a natural herbal medicine in treating DM.

Abstract

Tanjung Pagar sub-district is one of the sub-districts in Banjarmasin that still has residential areas along the riverbanks. Based on the observations of the service team, piles of rubbish were still found in several rivers in Tanjung Pagar Village. This situation indicates that there are still many people in this area who exhibit the behavior of throwing rubbish carelessly and have not been managing household waste properly. The aim of the activity is to enhance the knowledge and skills of Dasawisma women regarding the concept of zero waste and the utilization of waste for economic value. The method used involves education on waste management with the zero waste concept and training on converting inorganic waste into economically valuable goods. Partners' knowledge about waste management with the zero waste concept is assessed before and after education using a valid questionnaire. The results obtained from this program showed an increase in the average knowledge from 8.05 to 8.85 after education (p=0.002). Additionally, participants were also able to transform waste into economically valuable crafts.
