Abstract

Kata Kunci: FTIR, HPLC, NIR, KarotenoidAbstractIsolation and Identification Techniques of compounds in plants are indispensable in drug development. In the development of this technique, it is also necessary to develop more modern isolation and identification technology in order to facilitate, accelerate and declare accurate results. Various techniques used for identification include FTIR (Fourier Trasnform Infra Red), UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chomatography), and NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance). Three plants with different classes of carotenoids were selected to compare methods that were considered efficient. FTIR will provide a spectrum of functional groups present in carotenoids, HPLC will provide data in the form of AUC, absorbance and retention time adjusted to the standard, and NIR will provide images of carotenoid markers. The results of the comparison of the methods of the three plants, FTIR and HPLC were considered the most efficient for the identification of carotenoid group compounds. Keywords: FTIR, HPLC, NIR, Carothenoid
