Abstract

Desa Uwemanje terletak pada ketinggian >400 m dpl dan merupakan salah satu desa berpotensi di lereng pegunungan Gawalise. Karena berada di pegunungan maka desa ini memiliki topografi berbukit terjal dimana sebagian besar lahan memiliki tingkat kemiringan lereng lebih dari 40%, sehingga praktek pertanian termasuk agroforestri di desa ini sangat rawan terhadap erosi dan degradasi lahan lainnya. Komoditas utama terpenting di desa ini adalah Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu seperti tegakan tusam yang telah berumur lebih dari 35 tahun dan merupakan hasil reboisasi oleh Dinas Kehutanan Kabupaten Donggala pada lahan kritis yang berada di desa ini. Tegakan tusam berperan penting dalam konservasi tanah dan penyimpan air (water reservoir) bagi sumber mata air. Namun, kondisinya saat ini sangat mengkhawatirkan, selain berumur tua, tegakan tusam banyak mati karena diserang oleh hama dan patogen. Salah satu kegiatan dalam program Ipteks Bagi Desa Mitra (IbDM) ini adalah pembibitan tusam (Pinus merkusii Jungh & de Vriese) bekerjasama dengan mitra tiga kelompok tani hutan di desa tersebut. Bibit tusam dari pembibitan ini diharapkan menjadi pengganti tegakan tusam yang telah tua atau akan ditanam pada lahan-lahan kritis yang masih luas di desa ini. Oleh karena itu, dalam rangka peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat serta usaha konservasi hutan dan perlindungan tanah dan air di desa ini, perlu dilakukan program pengabdian dalam hal teknik pembibitan tusam bagi anggota kelompok tani hutan tersebut. Metode-metode pendekatan yang ditawarkan dalam kegiatan ini adalah dalam bentuk pendidikan dan pelatihan bagi anggota kelompok tani mitra dengan menggunakan metode penyuluhan dan pendampingan yang berupa bimbingan teknis dan pembinaan kelompok tani dalam pembibitan tusam. Hasil pelaksanaan program yang telah dilaksanakan yaitu tersedianya ±3000 bibit tusam yang berkualitas yang siap ditanam oleh para anggota kelompok tani dan areal pembibitan tusam bagi kelompok tani. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota kelompok tani hutan terutama dalam hal teknik pembibitan tusam.[The village of Uwemanje lies at an altitude of >400 m asl and is one of the potential villages on the slopes of the Gawalise mountains. Because it is located in the mountains, the village has a steep hilly topography where most of the land has a slope of more than 40%, so agricultural practices including agroforestry in this village are very vulnerable to erosion and other land degradation. The most important commodities in this village are Non-Timber Forest Products such as pine (Pinus merkusii Jungh & de Vriese) stands that have been more than 35 years old, and are the result of reforestation by the Forestry Service of Donggala District on the critical land located in this village. Pine stand plays an important role in soil conservation and water reservoir (water reservoir). However, the pine trees current condition is very worrying, in addition to old age, many pine trees die because of being attacked by pests and pathogens. One of the activities in science and technology program for Desa Mitra (IbDM) is a tusam nursery in collaboration with partners of three forest farmer groups in the village. The pine seedlings are expected to be a substitute for old pine stands or to be planted on the vast critical lands in the village. Therefore, in order to increase community income and forest conservation and soil and water protection in this village, it is necessary to do devotion program in the technique of pine nursery for members of forest farmer group. The methods of approach offered in this activity are in the form of education and training for members of partner farmer groups by using counseling and mentoring methods in the form of technical guidance and guidance of farmer groups in pine nurseries. The results of the implementation of the program that has been implemented is the availability of ± 3000 pine seedlings that are ready to be planted by members of farmer groups and pine nursery areas for farmer groups. In addition, there is an increased knowledge and skills of members of forest farmer groups, especially in terms of pine nursery techniques.]

Abstract

AbstrakDesa Uwemanje merupakan desa berpotensi di lereng pegunungan Gawalise yang memiliki topografi berbukit dimana sebagian besar lahan memiliki tingkat kemiringan lereng lebih dari 40%, sehingga praktek pertanian di desa ini sangat rawan terhadap erosi dan degradasi lahan lainnya. Komoditas utama terpenting di desa ini adalah Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu seperti tegakan pinus, kemiri dan bambu yang merupakan hasil reboisasi pada lahan kritis yang berada di desa ini. Program pengembangan desa mitra tahun kedua ini adalah pembinaan tiga mitra yaitu kelompok tani, ibu-ibu PKK dan Pemuda Sadar Wisata dalam pengembangan dan promosi ekowisata. Permasalahan yang diatasi melalui program ini yaitu rendahnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat sasaran serta tidak tersedianya bibit tanaman yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat setempat. Metode-metode pendekatan yang ditawarkan dalam bentuk pendidikan dan pelatihan bagi mitra melalui penyuluhan dan pendampingan/pelatihan yang berupa bimbingan teknis dan pembinaan kelompok tani dalam budidaya dan pembibitan tanaman, pemanfaatan limbah buah pinus sebagai souvenir, pembuatan kuliner berbahan baku lokal, pembuatan blog desa ekowisata serta pengadaan sarana penunjang ekowisata. Hasil dari PPDM yaitu tersedianya ±3000 bibit tanaman, lokasi persemaian bagi kelompok tani, produk kuliner berbahan baku lokal serta souvenir yang berbahan baku limbah pinus, Blog desa serta obyek ekowisata yang akan terus dikembangkan dimasa depan.Kata Kunci: Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu, Ekowisata, Konservasi, Souvenir, Pendapatan.AbstractThe village of Uwemanje is a village potentially on the slopes of the Gawalise mountain range which has a hilly topography where most of the land has a slope of more than 40%, so agricultural practices in this village are very prone to erosion and other land degradation. The most important main commodity in this village is Non-Timber Forest Products such as stands of pine, candlenut and bamboo which are the result of reforestation on critical land in this village. The second year of the partner village development program is fostering three partners namely farmer group, PKK group and Pemuda Sadar Wisata group in the development and promotion of ecotourism. The problem that was overcome in the second year was the lack of knowledge and skills of the target community and the unavailability of plant seedlings needed by the local community. Approach methods offered in the form of education and training for partners through counseling and training in the form of technical guidance and coaching of farmer groups in crop cultivation and nurseries, utilization of pine waste as souvenirs, making local-based culinary, ecotourism village blogging and procurement of ecotourism supporting facilities. The results of PPDM program are the availability of ± 3000 plant seedlings, nursery locations for farmer groups, local-based culinary products as well as souvenirs made from pine waste and, Blog/Website of ecotourism villages and ecotourism objects to be developed.Keywords: Non-Timber Forest Products, Ecotourism, Conservation, Souvenir, Income.

Abstract

Increasing maize production in Indonesia has been efforted regarding to fulfill the need of human and animal foods by utilizing the marginal land which has poor soil and is often dry. Application of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi as a biofertilizer in marginal land is a suitable alternative to overcome its problems. The aim of this research was to observe the effect of the different amounts of mycorrhizal fungal inoculum application on maize plant growth under different water regimes. Maize plants were inoculated by 0, 15, and 20 gram inoculum from Gigaspora margarita species and grown under soil water content at 60, 40 and 20% of soil fied capacity respectively. The results showed that application of mycorrhizal inoculum increased P absorption and hence plant growth under different water regimes. Plant inoculated by 20 gram inoculum had higher plant growth than plant inoculated by 10 gram inoculum particularly under soil water content at 60% of field capacity however the degree of fungal colonization was not significantly different.

Abstract

The effectivity of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal (AM) Fungi to increase P absorption is not only affected by AM fungal inoculum dose but also affected by soil P concentration. The aim of this study was to observe the effect of AM fungus inoculum doses and appropriate P concentration added in soil to increase maize growth. The study was conducted with completely randomized design based on two factors i.e. dose of AM fungus inoculums (0, 10, 20 g/polybag) and different P fertilizer levels (0, 1,8, 0,37 and 0,74 g/polybag). Gigaspora margarita species was used as a fungus inoculum. A polybag contained 5 kg air-dried soil. The results showed that application of AM fungus inoculum increased plant growth in low P soil while it did not increase plant growth in high P soil. Increasing fungus inoculum dose did not increase plant growth since the rate of root colonization was not significantly different.

Abstract

Arbsucular mycorrhizal fungi promote plant growth by enhancing mineral uptake. Contribution degree of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi to promote plant growth depend on species of plant-fungus association. The aim of this study was to compare the ability of three species of Glomus to promote maize plant growth. Maize plants were inoculated with 20 g inoculum of either Glomus deserticola, Glomus etunicatum, or Glomus clorum. Inoculum was soil containing spore, hyphae and infected root. Maize plants without addition inoculum were also used as a control. Water availability in the soil as growing medium was maintained on 40% field capacity. The results showed that addition of inoculum from three species of Glomus increased average of maize plant shoot dry weight although there was no statisticaly significant differences. Maize plant inoculated with G. clorum had higher shoot dry weight than maize plant inoculated either with G. etunicatum or G. deserticola while root colonization by G. clorum was lowest.

Abstract

Increasing plant growth by arbuscula mycorrhizal fungi depends on the fungus and plant spesies. The aim of this study was to determine the efectivity of fungal mycorrhizal fungus on the growth of cayenne pepper, tomato and eggplant which are Solanaceae family members. The study was conducted by Completely Randomized Design method.with two factors. The fisrt factor was species of experimental plant consisted of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.), tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and eggplant (Solanum melongena L.). The second factor was addition of Glomus clorum inokulum consisted of with and without inoculum addition. The result showed that there was no effect of inoculum addition on plant growth of three experiemal plants. The quality of inoculum used for this experiment was not good enough furthermore fungi could not germinate and colonize plant root.

Abstract

Selection and evaluation of the progress of crosses is important to obtain the percentage change and success of crosses. This study aims to evaluate the percentage change in carnelian color up to the F4 generation and the selection progress in the F4 generation. The research was conducted from August 2017 to August 2020 in Kalukubula village, Sigi Regency, Palu, Central Sulawesi Province. This study was structured using a randomized block design with five carnelian color treatments that were repeated five times. This study used a mass selection method by selecting the carnel color according to the treatment (purple, yellow, white, purple dominant yellow and white dominant purple). Each treatment was planted in one plot for each generation. The seeds were planted using an isolation time of 21 DAS. The results showed that there were three color carnelian characters that experienced an increase in the percentage of color up to the F4 generation, namely Purple (27.68% -70.39%), White Dominant Purple (1.52% -16.91%) and White (5.40% -91.22%), and There are two carnelian color characters that experience a decrease in the percentage of color in the F4 generation, namely Yellow (68.14% -64.31%) and Purple Dominant Yellow (27.00%-5.22%). The character of purple, white, dominant purple and white carnelian color had a significant increase in heritability values ​​in the F4 population, and had an expected genetic progression value (36.94%, 17.56%, 53.55%) and positive selection progress in the F4 generation.

Abstract

Post harvest handling is very important to produce quality and high quality seeds. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best post-harvest handling with different storage methods to produce quality and quality seeds with the best germination. This research was conducted in Tamarenja Village (Kalama Valley), Sindue Tobata District, Donggala Regency and seed testing was carried out at the Seed Science and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University. This research was conducted from October 2019 to February 2020. This research was arranged using a two-factor factorial randomized block design (RBD), the first factor consisting of two storage areas, namely: P1 = indoors, P2 = outdoors, while the second factor consists of three storage times, namely: W1 = one month and W2 = two months, and W3 = three months, which was repeated six times so that there were 36 experimental units where each experimental unit consisted of 50 seeds with a total of 1,800 seeds used. Data analysis used Fisher's test and continued with the BNJ test at 1% level. The results showed that the yields stored by hanging outdoors for 3 three months resulted in germination (71.00%), germination time (2.23 days), percentage of moldy seeds (9.33%), and percentage of moldy sprouts (9.33%).

Abstract

Penyimpanan sangatlah penting dilakukan untuk menghasilkan benih padi gogo yang bermutu dan berkualitas yang akan digunakan sebagai bahan tanam selanjutnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mendapatkan teknik produksi benih padi gogo yang bermutu dan berkualitas dengan perkecambahan terbaik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di desa Kalukubula dan uji perkecambahan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Ilmu dan Teknologi Benih. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2019 sampai Februari 2020. Penelitian ini disusun menggunakan racangan acak kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial dua faktor, faktor pertama terdiri atas dua lokasi penyimpanan yaitu: P1= Dalam Ruangan, P2= Luar Ruangan, Sedangkan faktor kedua terdiri atas tiga waktu penyimpanan yaitu: W1=satu bulan dan W2= dua bulan, dan W3= tiga bulan, yang diulang sebanyak enam kali sehingga terdapat 36 unit percobaan dimana setiap unit percobaan terdapat 50 benih dan total benih yang digunakan ialah sebanyak 1.800 benih. Analisis data menggunakan uji Fisher dan dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan uji BNJ pada taraf 1%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil panen yang disimpan dalam ruangan selama 3 tiga bulan menghasilkan daya berkecambah (93,00%), waktu berkecambah (2,08 hari), potensi tumbuh maksimum (99,00%) dan persentase benih berjamur (1,33%).

Abstract

Obyek ekowisata Taman Bunga Matahari dan Camping Ground Tabingga Hills di Desa Uwemanje merupakan satu-satunya Taman bunga yang ada di Lembah Palu. Taman ini dibangun atas inisiatif beberapa pemuda yang tergabung dalam kelompok Pemuda Sadar Wisata (Darwis) Tabingga Hills. Olehnya itu, dalam rangka pengembangan ekowisata ini kedepan, maka perlu dilakukan pembinaan dan pemberdayaan kelompok pemuda DARWIS. Beberapa permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra yaitu; 1) Teknik budidaya bunga matahari maupun bunga lainnya yang masih sederhana, 2) Ketersediaan benih dan bibit bunga matahari dan bunga lainnya yang kurang, 3) Manajerial wirausaha dan pemasaran ekowisata yang belum professional. Olehnya itu perlu dicarikan solusi-solusi untuk menanganinya. Metode Pendekatan yang ditawarkan adalah dalam bentuk pendidikan dan pelatihan bagi mitra dengan menggunakan metode penyuluhan, pendampingan yang berupa bimbingan teknis dan pembinaan mitra dalam pembudidayaa bunga matahari maupun bunga lainnya mulai benih hingga panen, pembuatan pupuk organic. Hasil dan luaran kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dicapai adalah Terbangunnya Taman Bunga Matahari dan bunga lainnya dengan luas ±0,5 ha secara monokultur dengan berbagai varietas warna, Terbangunnya Lokasi Persemaian Khusus Bunga Matahari maupun bunga lainnya seluar 5m x 7m serta 1500 Bibit Bunga berbagai varietas serta media social sebagai sarana pemasaran
