Abstract

Low carbon steel is steel with a carbon element content of less than 0.25%. This type of steel is widely used in spare parts motorbikeproducts after market. This type of product has a lower hardness level when compared toproducts Genuine Parts. Due to the low hardness value of the steel material when compared to Genuine Parts products, this product wears out faster. Due to this, engineering was carried out to increase the hardness of steel. One way is by using themethod pack carburizing. Theprocess pack carburizing in this study uses teak wood charcoal as a carburizer. This process is done by pre-heating the material in thebox carburizing pack at a temperature of 650 C. After pre-heating, the temperature was increased to 900áµ’C and different holding times were carried out, namely 5.6 and 7 hours. After that, the cooling process is carried out with water. The results obtained were that thematerial pack carburized had a higher carbon value as the holding time increased. The carbon value before treatment was 0.12%, then there was an increase to 1.03% at the holding time of 5 hours, 1.18% at the holding time of 6 hours and 1.37% at the holding time of 7 hours. The results of the hardness testing before treatment were 46.4 HRA on average increased to 83.66 HRA, 84.69 HRA and 84, 82 HRA at 5 hours, 6 hours and 7 hours detention. However, when doing statistical tests, it is not recommended to hold the heating time up to 7 hours when using this medium. This is because the comparison of changes in violence between 6 hours and 7 hours of detention did not show a significant increase in violence

Abstract

Steel is a type of material that is widely used as a main material in the manufacture of various kinds of industrial and automatic machinery spare parts. Some mechanical properties of steel that are often used in design are hardness, ductility and toughness. Often in a design, we have difficulty getting steel with mechanical properties that are appropriate with the design. For this reason, engineering carried out mechanical properties engineering, to obtain steel in accordance with design calculations. AISI 4140 steel is a medium alloy steel. This steel is often used for industrial and automotive machinery parts. This research engineered the mechanical properties of the steel, namely the hardness and ductility of the material. The process is carried out by conducting steel hardening at 850 °C followed by rapid cooling with water media. After that, tempering at temperatures of 300 ᵒC, 400ᵒC and 500ᵒC by cooling together with the furnace. The result is hardness and tensile strength of the material has increased, when compared with untreated material. This method is effectively used to obtain mechanical strength values in accordance with technical planning calculations. . Keywords: Tempering, AISI 4140, Mechanical Properties Engineering

Abstract

ABSTRAKDesa Mentaras Kecamatan Dukun Kabupaten Gresik merupakan salah satu sentral pertanian dan peternakan di kabupaten Gresik. Salah satu mata pencaharian yang ditekuni penduduk adalah beternak sapi dan kambing. Pakan memegang peranan yang sangat penting dalam rantai produksi  peternakan. Masalah yang dialami peternak desa mentaras yakni proses penyajian pakan kepada ternak biasanya dilakukan secara langsung, tanpa perlakuan atau manipulasi sebelumnya. Hal ini dapat mengurangi efisiensi dalam penggunaan pakan hijauan. Penyajian pakan tersebut cenderung menghasilkan sisa  makanan karena tidak habis dimakan maupun jatuh ke tanah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi pengolahan pakan ternak untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat Desa Mentaras. Metode pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah membuat mesin cacah rumput yang digunakan untuk mencacah rumput pakan ternak baik rumput basah maupun rumput kering. Setelah mesin tersebut selesai, kemudian dilakukan workshop penggunaan mesin untuk mencapai tujuan yang telah direncanakan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini diwujudkanlah mesin sesuai dengan konsep desain. Mesin ini menggunakan motor listrik berdaya 1 Hp dan mempunyai kecepatan putar motor 1420 RPM. Kapasitas produksi mesin ini yakni 100 kg/jam untuk pencacahan rumput basah dan 70 Kg/jam untuk pencacahan rumput kering. Dengan adanya mesin ini maka rumput ternak telah tercacah dengan ukuran 3-4 cm dan dapat ditambahkan bahan lainnya guna menambah gizi ternak, sehingga lebih sehat dan gemuk. Kata kunci: mesin cacah; pakan ternak; ternak. ABSTRACTMentaras Village, Dukun District, Gresik Regency is one of the centers of agriculture and animal husbandry in Gresik Regency. One of the livelihoods occupied by residents is raising cows and goats. Feed plays a very important role in the livestock production chain. The problem experienced by farmers in Mentaras village is that the process of serving feed to livestock is usually done directly, without any previous treatment or manipulation. This can reduce efficiency in the use of forage feeds. The presentation of the feed tends to produce food residue because it is not eaten or falls to the ground. This activity aims to provide solutions for animal feed processing to overcome the problems faced by the Mentaras Village community. This community service method is to make a grass chopper machine that is used to chop animal feed grass, both wet grass and dry grass. After the machine is finished, then a workshop on the use of the machine is carried out to achieve the planned goals. The result of this service is that the machine is realized according to the design concept. This machine uses an electric motor with a power of 1 HP and has a motor rotation speed of 1420 RPM. The production capacity of this machine is 100 kg/hour for chopping wet grass and 70 kg/hour for chopping dry grass. With this machine, the livestock grass has been chopped with a size of 3-4 cm and other ingredients can be added to increase the nutrition of the livestock, making it healthier and fatter. keywords: chopping machine; animal feed; livestock

Abstract

Abstrak Pengembangan suatu produk industri muncul dengan berbagai persoalan dan kualitas produk yang mempunyai nilai tinggi. Salah satu contoh produk yang perlu dirancang ulang adalah wheelbarrow atau gerobak sorong. Gerobak sorong adalah alat angkut material sederhana yang didorong dengan tangan, satu roda dan satu operator melalui handle. Penelitian ini bertujuan gerobak sorong yang ergonomis dan ekonomis, sehingga menghasilkan produk yang dapat bermanfaat untuk industri menengah serta dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan peningkatan produktivitas kerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan merancang ulang produk sebagai pengembangan, dimana produk ini biasanya digunakan pada salah satu bangunan yang disebut alat pengangkut material tradisianol, kemudian dilakukan perhitungan pada tegangan poros dan pedal pada gerobak sorong. Dalam penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa wheelbarrow atau gerobak sorong, dirancang  lebih  ergonomis dengan beberapa  perubahan diantaranya perubahan ketinggian tangkai dari tanah untuk meminimasi membungkuk pada saat akan mengangkat gerobak dorong, perubahan bentuk dan ukuran penyangga untuk mengakomodasi berbagai posisi pengangkatan, slain itu, perubahan bentuk dan ukuran bak agar saat mengangkat dan mendorong gerobak sorong, beban lebih seimbang, penambahan dongkrak untuk memudahkan pengguna saat menumpah beban dari bak, penambahan dua roda belakang untuk meringankan saat mendorong gerobak sorong, dan perubahan handle untuk memudahkan pengguna. AbstractThe development of an industrial product arises with various problems and product quality that has high value. One example of a product that needs to be redesigned is a wheelbarrow or handcart. The wheelbarrow is a simple material conveyance which is pushed by hand, one wheel and one operator through the handle. This research aims at an ergonomic and economical handcart, so as to produce a product that can be useful for medium-sized industries and can increase efficiency and increase work productivity. This research was carried out by redesigning the product as a development, where this product is usually used in a building called a traditional material conveying tool, then calculating the axle and pedal stress on a wheelbarrow. In this study it can be concluded that the wheelbarrow or wheelbarrow is designed more ergonomically with several changes including changes in the height of the stalk from the ground to minimize bending when lifting the wheelbarrow, changes in shape and size of the supports to accommodate various lifting positions, other things, changes in shape and the size of the body so that when lifting and pushing the wheelbarrow, the load is more balanced, the addition of a jack to make it easier for users to spill loads from the body, the addition of two rear wheels to make it easier to push the wheelbarrow, and change the handle to make it easier for users.

Abstract

The SCSF-31.2" 6-stage axial exhaust turbine in PLTP "X" is the main equipment for the power plant unit that functions to convert heat energy from steam into kinetic energy (rotation). Kinetic energy is transmitted by the shaft to the generator and then converted into electrical energy. The SCCF-31.2" 6-stage axial exhaust turbine currently operates at 7.95 bar (a) inlet pressure, 169.7 oC inlet temperature, and 112.504 kg/s steam mass rate. After evaluating the turbine performance with current actual operating data, the efficiency value is 78.8%, and it produces a gross generator power of 54.867 MW. The current efficiency value has decreased by 9.2% when compared to the initial condition. The decrease in efficiency is expected to occur due to an increase in temperature and pressure in the condenser. The temperature and pressure inside the condenser were initially at 40 °C and 0.074 bar (a) and are currently at 45.2 °C and 0.098 bar (a). Therefore, optimization is done by cleaning the channel sprayer in the condenser with the hope of increasing the water cooling flow rate and creating a wider contact area. As a result, the condenser temperature and pressure decreased so that the turbine efficiency value increased to 81.2% and the gross generator power increased to 57,224 MW

Abstract

Perahu merupakan  alat tranportasi untuk penyeberangan sungai dan nelayan,dimana komponen penggerak utama  baling-baling, permasalahan baling-baling ini bisa retah dan patah diakibatkan benturan dengan benda lain. Dengan permasalahan diatas peneliti melakaukan studi rekayasa paduan material antara  Al6061 bekas  dan penambahan unsur Magnesium. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penambahan Mg berpengaruh terhadap sifat mekanik dan komposisi unsur penyusun suatu material paduan berdasarkan hasil peleburan kembali Al6061 bekas. Sifat mekanik dianalisis melalui pengujian kekuatan impak dan kekerasan  rockwell. Jumlah Mg yang ditambahkan bervariasi 5%, 15%, dan 25%. proeses pengecoran menggunakan suhu  650°C-700°C. Hasil unsur penyusun komposisi paduan yang dominan antara lain  Carbon, Magnesium dan Alumunium , hasil pengujian impak terjadi adanya kenaikan nilai impak disetiap penambahan prosentase Magnesium, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa material memilki ketangguhan,keuletan dan tahan terhadap beban kejut. Nilai impak terkecil diperoleh untuk perubahan 5 %Mg sebesar 12,70 Nm/cm² , sedangkan nilai kekuatan impak tertinggi sebesar 16,13 Nm/cm² pada 25%Mg. Hasil kekerasan terjadi penurunan setiap penanmbahan magnesium  dimana 5% Mg 93 HR, 15%Mg 77 HR, dan 25%Mg 38,33 HR.

Abstract

Desa Bayu Urip merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di Kecamatan Ujung Pangkah, Kabupaten Gresik. Desa ini merupakan salah satu desa yang memiliki potensi karena wilayah dekat dengan laut, membuat mayoritas warga desa bekerja sebagai nelayan. Selain menangkap ikan, desa Bayuurip juga membudidayakan kerang hiaju sebagai penghasil laut.Desa ini menghasilkan kerang yang cukup tinggi sebagai hasil lautnya,berdampak banyak menghasilkan limbah cangkang kerang sebagai hasil sampingnya.Kegiatan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan solusi dalam mengurangi limbah, diperlukan suatu  mesin penghancur atau penggiling cangkang kerang hijau yang ramah lingkungan sehingga perlahan - lahan dapat mengurangi problem limbah tersebut serta target luaran pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kesehatan meningkat. Metode pengabdian masyarakat ini membuat mesin penggiling cangkang kerang hijau yang terciptanya mesin sesuai kebutuhan.Mesin mesin penggiling memiliki penggerak Diesel Engine berdaya 6,5 HP dan memiliki kecepatan putar motor 3000 Rpm. Kapasitas produksi mesin ini yakni 60 kg/jam untuk menggiling atau menghancurkan cangkang kerang hijau. Rata-rata ukuran penggilingan yang didapatkan dari mesin yaitu 0-2 mm.
