Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan bimbingan kelompok terhadap peningkatan motivasi berwirausaha siswa kelas X SMK Islam Inayah, Ujung Batu Rokan Hulu, Riau. Populasi penelitian sebanyak 130 siswa kelas X SMK Islam Inayah, Ujung Batu Rokan Hulu, Riau. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah porposive sampling dengan ukuran sampel sebanyak 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan skala psikologis dan dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan uji t sampel berkorelasi dan uji t sampel independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi berwirausaha kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan motivasi berwirausaha sangat tinggi 0%, motivasi berwirausaha tinggi 43,75%, motivasi berwirausaha sedang 25%, motivasi berwirausaha rendah 25%, dan motivasi berwirausaha sangat rendah 6,25% Sedangkan kelompok kontrol menunjukkan motivasi berwirausaha sangat tinggi 0%, motivasi berwirausaha tinggi 37,5%, motivasi berwirausaha sedang 25%, motivasi berwirausaha rendah 25%, dan motivasi sangat rendah 12,5%. Motivasi berwirausaha pada kelompok eksperimen hasil pre-test lebih rendah dibanding dengan hasil post-test yang menunjukkan skor tertinggi ada selisih 25, skor terendah selisih 9 untuk pre-test lebih rendah, skor mean ada selisih 22,06 untuk sebelum perlakuan lebih rendah. Data tentang motivasi berwirausaha pada kelompok kontrol hasil pre-test lebih rendah dibanding dengan hasil post-test yang menunjukkan skor tertinggi ada selisih 3 untuk pre-test lebih rendah, skor terendah selisih 2 untuk pre-test lebih rendah, skor mean ada selisih 1,69 untuk sesudah post-test lebih rendah. Saran untuk SMK Islam Inayah, Ujung Batu Rokan Hulu, Riau hendaknya menambah fasilitas pendukung layanan bimbingan dan konseling dalam memberikan layanan bimbingan kelompok terhadap peningkatan motivasi berwirausaha. Sehingga, siswa dapat mempunyai pemahaman yang luas terhadap motivasi berwirausaha.

Abstract

This analysis examines some of the problems that are faced by teachers and students in the teaching and learning of English for special purposes (ESP) in multilingual nations. A survey recently found that although 98 percent knew that English was the sole language of instruction at the institution, only 49 percent expected to study English as a subject in any form as part of their curriculum. Many students looked upon English as a subject of study necessary only to gain entrance into the university, and had little motivation to study it past the secondary level. Other problems faced by teachers and students include the multilingual background of the learners, lack of cooperation from teachers of other subjects, the need to import language materials, poor levels of language teacher training, and large class sizes. An alternative approach to ESP is suggested, one in which the learner's native language and other languages in the learner's environment play a major role in tertiary education. The importation of culturally and educationally irrelevant materials is noted along with the urgent need for teacher training reform.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the students’ ability and students' difficulties in expressing intention. This research was conducted at SMKN 6 Padang, the academic year 2020/2021. The researcher conducted this research based on the finding in the classroom. Many students were not able to speak well in the teaching and learning activities in the classroom. This research used descriptive quantitative research. The population in this research was 68 students first years of SMKN 6 Padang, namely first kuliner one and first kuliner two. The result of the research showed that students’ speaking ability in expressing intention was moderate. (1) The ability of students’ in pronunciation was moderate (91.42% ). (2) The ability of students’ in choosing vocabulary was moderate (94.28%). (3) The ability of students’ in fluency was moderate (85.71%). (4) The ability of students’ in using grammar was moderate (88.57%). (5) The ability of students’ in comprehension was moderate (82.85%). The researcher concluded that students speaking ability in expressing intention was moderate.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to speak English. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students to speak English through Picture Series. The method used in this research was descriptive analysis method. In this research, the population was the second-grade students' of SMKN 5 Padang, the number of the population members was 70 students. The sample of this research was class 2 Design of Building Information and Modeling 2, and the size of the sample was 18 students. In this research, researcher use cluster random sampling. Instrumentation that used in this research was text giving suggestion through picture series. This data was obtained from the results of test given to students, the authors found the value of five criteria of speaking skills in giving suggestion through picture series, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, and comprehension. It can be concluded that the ability of students is moderate, obtained from a score 1 and a score 2 that there are 13 people from 18 students who got moderate (72,2%), and 3 people from 18 students got high scores (16,6%). Based on the research analysis, the researcher was suggested that English teacher give students’ more practice and pay attention especially in speaking.
