Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) To describe the implementation of thematic learning by teachers in class V SDN Sempu 2 Kota Serang, (2) to describe the results of the application of thematic learning by teachers to fifth grade students of SDN Sempu 2 Kota Serang.  The research took place in SDN Sempu 2 Kota Serang.  Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification.  The results of the study: (1) the implementation of thematic learning by the teacher in class V SDN Sempu 2 Serang City has been running in accordance with the provisions of the government.  During the Covid 19 pandemic, learning activities underwent changes, learning activities were carried out through 2 types of activities. There are face-to-face activities carried out by teachers visiting students' homes and learning activities carried out through the WhatsApp Group, (2) The results of the application of thematic learning by teachers to fifth grade students of SDN Sempu 2, Kota Serang, students become easier to accept the material presented,  students are more active in the question and answer session, students become more character because the teacher always strengthens character through habituation activities during learning.

Abstract

In general, the use of instructional media in elementary schools is still lacking. The development of learning media that is more varied and innovative and integrated into the 2013 curriculum is needed. One of them is the Thematic Magnetic Board (PAMANTIK) media developed by thematic learning and is integrated with the 2013 curriculum. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of developing instructional media. PAMANTIK according to the characteristics of thematic learning and knowing the feasibility of PAMANTIK learning media. A team of media experts carried out the results of the feasibility of this development research, material experts, and education experts with the interpretation category "Very Appropriate." While the students' responses to PAMANTIK media were carried out with limited trials on third-grade elementary school students, the interpretation category was "Very Good." Based on the research and development results, it was concluded that the PAMANTIK learning media was very good and suitable for use in elementary schools. PAMANTIK media development has implications for increasing student motivation in thematic learning by using integrated learning media in thematic learning.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the strategy of teachers the independent character education in elementary school 16 serang city. The subjects were teachers and students. Objects in this research that are independent of character education. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection procedures in this study were interviews, observation and documentation. Analysis of data using analysis techniques of data reduction, data display and conclusions. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation, in particular methodological triangulation. The results showed that the independent character in the school could be seen in some aspects of self-development, integration of different character values in the learning implementation plan, and school culture. Aspects of self- development consists of routine, spontaneous activity, programmatic activities and exemplary. Aspects of the integration of independent character value in the learning implemrntation plan consists of independent character value in education, put the value of independent character in the learning implementation plan, using contextual learning strategies, problem-based and cooperative. Aspects of school culture consists of the creation of conditions conducive school, curricular and extracurricular activities.
