Abstract

This study aims to find out the intensity of light in the study room of Islamic boarding school of DDI Lil Banat Parepare. Measurements are taken in rooms that are often used by students to learn, namely classes and dormitories. The type of research used is quantitative by simulation method. Variables are tied to exposure measurement i.e. light intensity. While the variables are free, namely the arrangement of light points and the layout of the study room. Measurements were carried out over three days using a digital lux meter tool. The measurement results showed that the intensity of light in the dormitory did not meet the Indonesian National Standard for study space both night and day. During the day classrooms meet Indonesian National Standards but not at night. Although students as a space user is comfortable with the condition of light intensity in the study room and can learn according to these conditions, students still feel some complaints in the form of sore eyes, tense eyes and difficulty focusing. Thus, researchers made recommendations on the design of study rooms that can make students more comfortable learning in dormitories and classrooms so as to reduce complaints while studying. Lighting design recommendations are made in several alternatives by adding the number of lamps and changing the type of lamp using Dialux simulation. The simulation results of the study room lighting design recommendations have met the standards for use so that it can be applied to dormitories and classes at the Islamic boarding school of DDI Lil Banat Parepare. Abstract

The architecture of traditional house of the Tolaki tribe has characteristics that indicate the activities, identity and socio-cultural values of the community. This study aims to examine the function, space, form, and meaning of the traditional house of the Tolaki tribe. Field surveys were conducted at Meluhu Village in Meluhu District and Asambu Village in Unaaha District of Konawe Regency. This research is qualitative with phenomenological method. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and document studies. The objects of research were is Laika Mbuu and Laika Aha houses which were selected from nine forms of Laika in Konawe Regency using purposive-criteria sampling technique. Data were analyzed descriptively, then the results were discussed and associated with relevant theories. The result reveals that the function of Laika Mbuu and Laika Aha is formerly the residence a Mokole (King) and a place to hold traditional ceremonies. However nowadays Laika Mbuu has become a communal gathering place and other public purposes, whereas Laika Aha become a customary house for ceremonial events. The spatial arrangement of Laika Mbuu has no partition so that the local community carries out all activities in one open space, whereas Laika Aha contains partitions that divide the space into several rooms. Both the Laika Mbuu and Laika Aha have a rectangular building shape. The square shape on the building facade shows a bottom container called Kalo Sara, which is a set of objects as symbol of social class and has a meaning as customary law in the Tolaki community. This research concludes that both the Laika Mbuu and Laika Aha have similar function and form, however different spatial arrangement. Both the Laikas express many symbolic meanings, among others that the house as symbol of a human body, and the residents symbolize organs of the human body, so that once the house is built and filled, it must try to protect itself from all obstacles and calamities.

Abstract

Auditorium space is one of the building functions that must be supported will be acoustic comfort. This research aimed (1) to determine the condition of auditory comfort in the auditorium space according to the opinion of the space users; (2) to investigate the value of the existing reverberation time in the space. The research used two methods, namely the qualitative and quantitative methods; the qualitative method was conducted by distributing questionnaires, interviews and direct observation in the field. The results of the questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS version 22, while the quantitative method was conducted by measuring the sound pressure level using the Sound Level Meter (SLM) and calculation of the Reverbertion Time (RT) by using the Sabine Equation and the simulation was conducted using the Ecotect Software. The research results indicated that, based on the questionnaires distribution to the space user, and according to the seat position, 44.3% of the older users felt comfortable about the spread of sound in the space, while 41.3% did not feel comfortable with the position of the seats and the sound they received, and only 2.0% felt very comfortable with the distribution spread of sound in the space. Meanwhile, the results of the measurement of the highest Level of Sound Pressure showed that at the measuring point of 31 was 94.0 dB and the lowest at point of 22 was 60.8 dB. The results of the RT calculation at the auditorium when the auditorium was empty was about 0.45-0.40 seconds at the frequency of 500hz.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kualitas bunyi berdasarkan nilai kriteria kebisingan (noise criteria), Reverberation Time (RT), dan hasil distribusi suara berasal dari speaker dalam ruang Auditorium LT 1 Gedung Perpustakaan Kampus Gowa, Universitas Hasanuddin. Analisis kualitas bunyi ditinjau dari nilai background noise untuk menentukan noise criteria ruang, reverberation time (RT) sesuai rekomendasi berdasarkan jenis ruang, serta perilaku bunyi dalam ruang auditorium yang bersumber dari pengeras suara (speaker). Kemudian hasil nilai dari pengukuran dan simulasi disesuaikan dengan rekomendasi oleh McMullan dan SNI 03-6386-2000. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara pengukuran lapangan untuk tingkat tekanan bunyi dan reverberation time (RT) sesuai titik ukur yang ditentukan dan menganalisis nilai statistical RT serta linked acoustic rays dan simulasi rays and particles dengan menggunakan simulasi komputer yaitu software ecotect. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai kriteria kebisingan belum memenuhi rekomendasi Egan untuk ruang auditorium dengan kegiatan utama percakapan, sementara untuk waktu dengung (RT) belum dirasa maksimal untuk ruang auditorium dengan kegiatan percakapan, dan hasil analisis simulasi akustik dengan ecotect menemukan beberapa suara gema hasil dari pantulan suara dari bidang dinding bata auditorium.

Abstract

Title: Natural Light Intensity Analysis in Classroom; Case Study: Classroom at Bosowa University Lighting is an important part of buildings in supporting the productivity of human labor. Insufficient lighting can interfere with human activities and could cause health problems, like eye disorders. Building design must consider the functions and needs so that residents can feel comfortable. Good lighting levels can be achieved by utilizing natural and artificial lighting. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of illumination in a room that is directly related to the openings of the building envelope and to analyze the different levels of illumination in classrooms with different orientations. Quantitative research methods by distributing measurement data in the form of tables, diagrams and graphs. Data analysis was performed using statistics and data analysis techniques, the results of the measurement were statistically descriptive. This study analyzed the differences in the level of illumination in the northern orientation and southern orientation classrooms. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the orientation of the building affects the level of illumination in the room. During the day the level of illumination is higher in the direction of orientation north than the direction of orientation south, especially the measurement point in the area close to the openings of the building envelope, but in this study the direction of classroom orientation towards the south is higher the level of illumination compared to the north orientation classrooms. This is understood by the treatment of building glass sheaths in the north orientation direction in the form of the use of frosted glass wallpaper, so it can be concluded that changes to the building facade affect the level of room illumination. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in building facade concepts and designing energy-efficient buildings.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan energi matahari sebagai sumber pencahayaan alami pada rumah tinggal sederhana merupakan salah satu faktor untuk meminimalkan konsumsi energi listrik. Rumah tinggal yang menggunakan penghawaan alami, akan memiliki kelembaban udara yang cukup dan sebaiknya diupayakan tidak menggunakan pengkondisian udara (AC) sehingga penggunaan konsumsi energi listrik akan berkurang. Rumah tinggal sederhana mempunyai luasan ruang yang relative kecil, oleh sebab itu sistem pencahayaan dan penghawaan bukan merupakan hal yang tidak dapat dikendalikan. Berdasarkan hal ini, perlu dilakukan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan energi, khususnya pada rumah tinggal sederhana. Tujuan kegiatan ini merupakan pemahaman dan penerapan pemanfaatan energi pada rumah tinggal sederhana. Setelah diadakan penyuluhan, diharapkan masyarakat dapat memahami teori pemanfaatan pencahayaan dan penghawaan alami dan masyarakat dapat menerapkannya pada rumah tinggal mereka. Pelaksanaan kegiatan sosialisasi, dimulai dengan memaparkan teori dasar dan tata cara penerapan pemanfataan energi pada rumah tinggal sederhana. Kegiatan ini, dilanjutkan dengan mengunjungi 3 unit rumah tinggal di jalan Pelanduk Kel. Maricaya Kec. Makassar Kota Makassar. Kunjungan ini dilakukan untuk mengarahkan dan menjelaskan kepada masyarakat dengan melihat secara langsung obyeknya. Selanjutnya kepada pemilik rumah tersebut, diberikan desain renovasi rumah tinggal dengan memaksimalkan pemanfaatan pencahayaan dan penghawaan alami berupa gambar denah dan tampak berupa tiga dimensi.

Abstract

Mosque as a place of worship for Muslims demands to provide the maximum comfort for its users to make worship more solemn. In fact, many mosques do not pay attention to the comfort of the room, including the acoustic design. This research was conducted using I-SIMPA software, a software used to perform acoustic simulations involving geometric and acoustic parameters on architectural elements in the room with the aim of analyzing the reverberation level in the Makassar Grand Mosque space. The result obtained from analysis on the first floor shows the lowest reverberation time (RT) for 1.13 seconds at points 5, 6, and 8 at 8000 Hz. Moreover, the highest RT is 4.1 seconds at point 5 at 250 Hz and points 2 and 6 at 500 Hz which is exceeds the standard of recommended RT. On the second floor, The lowest RT is 1.38 seconds at point 1 at 8000 Hz and the highest is 4.86 seconds at point 3 at 1000 Hz. The reverberation time in second floor is longer compared to the first floor due to the volume and shape of the room. Abstract

Open open space is one of the elements of space that has a function as a social binder for the resident community in a certain area, can be accessed from anywhere and anytime so that it has a sustainability function that can improve the quality of life of the community both in social, economic, and even cultural contexts. On an urban scale, the rules regarding open space are directed at efforts to achieve good oxygen conditions which are a requirement in improving the health status of the community. In residential areas, the performance of open space is more emphasized on socio-cultural functions where people can gather in a friendly atmosphere so that the optimization of open space functions in the aspect of joint economic improvement is actually open for development. Open space in a residential area in Romang Lompoa Village has the potential in the form of a large volume. The main problem lies in the lack of facilities to support community activities in developing interactive activities between fellow settlers in a social context. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the function of the existing open space by providing the design of supporting facilities for interactive activities which can then be realized by the community in the residential environment through participatory activities based on mutual cooperation. The method of carrying out the activities formulated by the Community Service Team of the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University refers to the health protocol rules as part of efforts to break the spread of the Covid-19 Virus. Therefore, the form of activity is mostly carried out in the form of observation and evaluation of existing open spaces as well as limited interviews with stakeholders at locations at community service locations.

Abstract

Ruangan dengan kualitas kenyamanan audial yang baik memiliki kondisi suara yang terdengar stabil, yaitu ketika nilai-nilai standar kenyamanan audial sebagaimana fungsi ruangannya telah terpenuhi. Salah satunya standar kenyamanan audial adalah waktu dengung. Waktu dengung merupakan aspek penentu kualitas akustik yang utama dari sebuah ruang privasi maupun publik, tidak terkecuali pada ruang ibadah masjid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan penelitian terkait waktu dengung pada ruang ibadah Masjid Besar Al-Abrar Makassar kemudian menyajikan saran untuk mencapai kenyamanan audial yang sesuai dengan ruang ibadah masjid. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan melakukan simulasi dengan aplikasi Autodesk Ecotect Analysis v5.50, dan pembagian kuesioner untuk pengguna pada setiap titik ukur yang ditentukan pada denah setiap segmen lantai. Hasil yang didapatkan, ruang ibadah masjid masih memiliki masalah dengan waktu dengung pada semua segmen lantai yaitu segmen lantai 1,2, dan 3. Pada frekuensi 500 Hz dengan rumus sabine, hasil simulasi menggunakan aplikasi Autodesk Ecotect Analysis v5.50 segmen lantai 1 adalah 5,41 detik, segmen lantai 2 adalah 4,05 detik, dan segmen lantai 3 adalah 1.36 detik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kenyamanan audial pada ruang ibadah Masjid Besar Al-Abrar Makassar terkait waktu dengung masih belum sepenuhnya memenuhi standar kenyamanan audial, namun hasil dari keusioner pengguna masjid sudah merasa nyaman dengan keadaan tersebut.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dilakukan di Kabupaten Takalar Kecamatan Mangarabombang Desa Cikoang dengan judul “Sosialisasi Kenyamanan Termal pada Bangunan Rumah Tinggal di Kawasan Permukiman Tepi Air Cikoang Kabupaten Takalar”. Pertambahan jumlah penduduk semakin meningkat dan kebutuhan Rumah tinggal sebagai kebutuhan utama masyarakat pun semakin meningkat. Kawasan permukiman di tepi air cikoang, perlu mendapatkan perhatian, khususnya aspek kenyamanan termal. Pada area pesisir pantai mempunyai kondisi udara yang berfluktuasi, sehingga faktor utama yang perlu diperhatikan adalah kenyamanan termal dalam beraktifitas di dalam rumah tinggal. Setelah sosialisasi dilaksanakan, diharapkan masyarakat dapat memahami dan menerapkan teori dan saran demi terciptanya kenyamanan termal pada rumah tinggal masyarakat di pesisir sungai Cikoang. Kegiatan pengabdian dilanjutkan dengan menganalisis secara langsung beberapa unit hunian pada area pesisir sungai Cikoang. Selanjutya disarankan kepada masyarakat, apabila akan membangun atau memperbaiki rumah tinggal di area pesisir, sebaiknya masyarakat memperhatikan kenyamanan termal pada lingkungan sekitarnya dan kenyamanan termal pada rumah tinggal mereka yang sesuai dengan standar.
