Abstract

ABSTRAKToilet training merupakan usaha melatih anak agar mampu buang air kecil dan buang air besar sendiri, proses ini berlangsung pada usia anak 18 bulan sampai 2 tahun. Bila proses ini tidak berlangsung dengan baik, maka anak dapat mengalami gangguan pola eliminasi. Toilet training membutuhkan persiapan dari aspek fisik, psikologi, dan intelektual. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan kesiapan anak dengan keberhasilan toilet training pada anak balita di PAUD dan TK Bungong Seuleupoek Unsyiah Darussalam Banda Aceh tahun 2012. Desain penelitian bersifat deskriptif korelatif dan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling yaitu 53 responden. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Metode analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil analisis bivariat didapatkan ada hubungan antara kesiapan anak dengan keberhasilan toilet training (p-value 0,043), ada hubungan antar kesiapan fisik dengan keberhasilan toilet training (p-value 0,002), ada hubungan antara kesiapan psikologis dengan keberhasilan toilet training (p-value 0,006), ada hubungan antara kesiapan intelektual dengan keberhasilan toilet training (p-value 0,023), di PAUD dan TK Bungong Seuleupoek Unsyiah Darussalam Banda Aceh. Diharapkan kepada orangtua agar mampu mengenali tanda-tanda kesiapan anak sebelum orangtua memutuskan untuk memulai toilet training pada anaknya, sehingga anak cepat berhasil menggunakan toilet dengan baik.Kata Kunci: kesiapan anak, toilet training, balitaABSTRACTToilet training is one of the efforts to train children to be able to urinate and defecate by themselves. This process takes part when a child is 18 months until 2 years. If the process is not going well, children can experience interference elimination pattern. In conducting this training, a child needs good-physical, psychological and intellectual readiness. The objective of this research was to find out the correlation between child readiness and the success of toilet training for under-five-year old children at Early Child Education and Kindergarten of Bungong Seuleupoek at Syiah Kuala University in Darussalam, Banda Aceh, in 2012. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative and the sample was selected by using a total sampling technique, resulting in the selection of 53 respondents. The instrument of data collection was a set of questionnaires. The data were analysed by using a chi-square test. Based on bivariate analysis, it was found that there was a significant correlation between the child readiness and the success of toilet training (p-value = 0.043), physical readiness and the success of toilet training (p-value = 0.002), psychological readiness and the success of toilet training (p-value = 0.006), and intellectual readiness and the success of toilet training (p-value = 0.023) at Early Child Education and Kindergarten of Bungong Seuleupoek at Syiah Kuala University in Darussalam, Banda Aceh. Therefore, it is recommended that parents are expected to be able to recognizer the signs of readiness before the parents decide to start toilet training her child so that the child quickly managed to use the toilet properly.Keywords: child readiness, toilet training, and child
