<![CDATA[ABSTRAKMukositis merupakan peradangan pada mukosa dan submukosa mulut yang terjadi akibat efek samping kemoterapi. Salah satu tindakan yang direkomendasikan untuk mencegah dan menurunkan derajat mukositis adalah melakukan perawatan mulut menggunakan madu. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis khasiat madu dalam menurunkan mukositis pada pasien kanker akibat kemoterapi. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen non equivalent control group pretest-post test, sampel sebanyak 98 responden diambil dengan tehnik total sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi derajat mukositis dan instrument Assesment Guide yang yang direkomendasikan oleh United Kingdom Cancer Care Study Group (UKCCSG). Analisis data dengan regresi logistic ordinal diperoleh hasil bahwa perawatan mulut menggunakan madu bermanfaat menurunkan mukositis akibat kemoterapi pada pasien kanker (kelompok intervensi) (p=0.000). Perawatan mulut menggunakan madu bersama-sama dengan variabel usia, jenis kelamin, status gizi, jenis kanker dan jenis kemoterapi secara simultan berkontribusi terhadap penurunan derajat mukositis sebesar 77,9% pada hari ketiga dan 81% pada hari ke enam. Disarankan kepada pasien kanker agar mengaplikasikan perawatan mulut menggunakan madu selama terapi kemoterapi untuk mencegah dan menurunkan derajat mukositis.Kata kunci: kemoterapi, madu, mukositis. ABSTRACTMucositis is the respond of inflammation and ulceration on the mucous membrane in the mouth and sub mucosa that happened because the side effect of chemotherapy. One of the suggested actions to prevent and decrease the degree of mucositis is by starting oral care using honey. This research’s purpose is to find out the effectiveness of the honey in decrease the degree of mucositis on cancer patients undergo are doing the chemotherapy in a general hospital in Medan. This research is a quasi experiment with designed of non-equivalent control group pre test-post test. Sampling method with total sampling technique is consist of 2 groups; an intervention group who get the oral care using honey (76 correspondent), and a group who get oral care using chlorhexidine 0.2% (22 correspondent). Regression of ordinal logistic are used to analyze the data. The result of the analysis shows that the oral care using honey is effective to decrease the degree of mucositis on cancer patients (P=0.000). The oral care using honey statistically effective to decrease the degree of mucositis, so it is recommemded to the hospitals to implement the oral care using honey in their standard of nursing treatment towards cancer patient who are doing chemotherapy.Key words: honey, chemotherapy, mucositis. ]]>
